oh boy.... :scared1::scared1: it is a happy yet a sad time...

My YOUNGEST turns 18 next week. :scared1:

Happy Birthday to your son and congrats and sympathies to you. :)

 I feel for ya! My DD turned 18 in December and I am already hearing "I'm an adult now!". I wouldn't have a problem with that if she acted like one.

Why is it that they suddenly think they know it all?:rolleyes1

awww,,, it'll be o.k., 18 is a fun age to turn and SO exciting for them! DH turned 50 on Friday, he's take 18 in a heartbeat!:lmao: Our oldest turns 21 this June and it seems like we were just having her sweet 16. Any fun plans? I know as they kids get older they like to celebrate with friends, but we always try to sneak something in there that we can do too, even if it's hitting the movies.

Happy birthday to your soon-to-be 18 year old!
And good luck to you ;)

Our oldest turns 16 this year, will get his license, and that boggles my mind - how did the cute little boy turn into a 6' 2" almost-adult? I can't even imagine 2 years from now when college decisions are made and he's on the verge of 18! :scared1:

I guess we all just need to enjoy every minute we have!

Pull out a bill for rent, food, gas, auto insurance, etc. and see how much of an adult she wants to be :lmao:.

When our oldest turned 18 it wasn't so much that he was 18 but I looked back to when I was 18 and how OLD my parents were then....:scared1::lmao:

Mine turned 18 in Nov. Funny thing....he spent his ENTIRE teenage years trying to pierce and wishing to tattoo body parts, but we haven't allowed it. I was positive that he'd be out at some piercing parlor at midnight of his birthday taking care of some wish-list he had! But here we are, 3 months into his 18th year and nothing has been modified, graffitied or punctured so far. I actually think he forgot!!

Something about him becomming 18 has taken some of the pressure off for me and I can't explain it. Each time a situation arises where I wonder "should we let him....?" or "is he too young to ....?" I remind myself of his age and figure that it's pretty much time to let some of these things happen. It's NOT that I don't worry, but it's somehow a relief not having to be so heavy-handed anymore. Does that make sense to anyone??

PS - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your kiddo!

Same here.....but in 3 weeks. She's not happy about it...she has no desire to grow up Lol!

Happy Birthday to him. My oldest is 20, he was pretty disappointed when he turned 18. LOL. He still had to get up, go to school, go to his part time job. Pretty much the same thing he did at 17.

I think he thought some thing Cataclysimic was going to happen. I told him, wait until he hits 45 with a couple of kids....

I'm right there with you! My oldest turns 18 in 3 weeks. Time sure does fly my baby is all grown up.:sad1:
