My Newest Obsession...

Where do you get good images to use? I'd like to try it but I can't seem to find an image that isn't either way too detailed or too big. I don't have a scanner.

I have just been googling "stitch coloring pages". I then size them, either on the computer or using the copier. Once I have the image the size I want, I go over all of the black line with a extra fine black sharpie marker to thicken the lines considerably.

I have 4 of the same image per page and then just followed the instruction on the scrapbooking thread here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1717981

It really is addictive. I cut out 16 stitchs yesterday:goodvibes

I love these.

I wish I could do it!

I can't figure out how not to waste paper.

Susie, sometimes if I only need a small piece for a color I will print the image on a plain white sheet of printer paper and then use double sided tape to stick the colored cardstock to the printer paper over the part of the image I want copied, put it back in the machine and print it again.
I found that if I photo copy the image the black isn't bold enough.

Buffy...that is brilliant. I need to try that when I get home!!

Can you post a link of one image that works for a paper piecing? If I see one that works, I am hoping I'll be able to find more on my own.

Thanks!

I posted more in the pass it forward swap thread...

I am so happy that you posted this. I never understood what paper piercing was until this was posted. I went right home last night and started making some for the MK swap. This was soooooooooo much fun. Of course my husband thinks I am a little crazy, but that is okay I think he is sometimes too!! ha ha ha I hope that mine come out okay in comparison to others. With my first attempt at this I am a little nervous, but I think they came out really good!!!!!!!! This is what I will be spending my Saturday doing since my husband will be going snowmobiling!!

Now -- did I cheat? I printed the clip art image several times, cut out various parts and assembled it using fun foam sheets which I applied adhesive to -- like a pop dot but thinner than the ones I had. I also used the glaze pens on the pupils -- the flash bounced off it a bit. Is it acceptable? I want to use it for the Garden Grill.

Wow, it really looks washed out in that first photo. I think you can see in the second photo that it has more color.
