Stitch looks great!! My problem is that I can't cut a straight line with an xacto knife. Here's my paper piecing attempt. Look how terrible the windows look I am going to try again.

Do you have to use an exacto knife or can you use a scissor? I hate exacto knife cutting. I use my ruler and run my blade along that

xacto knife. I am not good with it!

I use a knife with a swivel head for small interior pieces. But for larger holes, I use the knife to create a little hole, and then I use my scissors to cut the rest of it out. And for something like that, if you have a metal ruler, you could cut against it.

Ok - I googled instructions for paper piercing - I didn't find anything good.

"How hard could it be?" I ask myself - Holy Cr*p! this is hard...Does anybody have a link I could check out - pictures would be great as I learn by seeing.

There is a paper piecing demo on the scrapbooking board tips and techniques thread. It is mostly time consuming. Especially if you are doing something with a lot of detail.

It dawned on me while in bed last night with 102 fever that perhaps I could have cut straighter if I had used a ruler as a guide

If my fever goes down and I am feeling a bit better, I will try it again.

Can someone explain what paper piercing is or provide a link to it. I am really confused how you guys are creating these amazing things from coloring books. I assumed that they were coming from a laser cutting system. I would love to learn something new!!

I think you need to accept that you will waste paper. I have SO MANY scraps from this...I see a bunch of punches in my future.
