Trying to catch up...can't even catch my breath during the week! Home with Brook today....sick again...poor thing.
Anyways, I am still chuckling over the the potato head parts..lol! It just reminds me of the ages when my children couldn't leave the house without having something in each hand. So cute.
What a great time at Epcot so far! I've never been right at the rope like that..cool. I am always a layer or two back. The meet and greet was so cute! Cracking up over Donald and all of Bella's reactions! Brooklynn is so cute with her little sister! I love her hair pulled back like that too!
I hope your Brooklynn is feeling better this morning.
As for taking things with her, Brooklynn loves to have her animal friends accompany her. Bella is satisfied just to have her little Mickey blanket (the one in the last batch of pictures) and her paci, but Brooklynn prefers a whole pride of lions in assorted shapes and sizes.
We have a system at Epcot rope drop. One person (usually Jill, as she is fastest) goes for Soarin' fastpasses and the others get in line for characters. We let a few people get in first and if she's not back by the time we're close to the front, we let a couple of families pass us. By then, she's back, and we're good to go.
Bella is really making progress with the characters! Thank goodness for that sweet hand-holding sister!
Brooklynn does an A+ job at posing with characters. She knows exactly what to do, so hopefully she will show Bella how to do the same.
First, what great news for Carter! Prayer does indeed work.
What awesome character pictures!! So cool!! I'm
glad they've figured out a way to get Bella in there.
Jill thinks Bella will do better with characters on this trip, as she is starting to understand it all and know who the characters are.
Wow! You took some fantastic shots of the characters this morning! *Almost* makes me think about rope drop... almost. If only it weren't so early.
Rope drop is not for everyone, but it works wonderfully for us. Especially in Magic Kingdom - wiping out all of Fantasyland with no lines is something we love.
awww! so much fun. i'm going to be an aunt next month and i'm already {secretly} planning her first dis trip!
It will be such fun to plan and dream of taking her on all the kiddie rides.
That's awesome that Brooklynn figured out a way to get Bella in the pictures! I also love Brooklynn's haircut, it looks adorable. The matching outfits are super cute, too!
We didn't end up getting that much this time -- maybe five or six inches, but it was the light, fluffy stuff, and now the sun is out! It gets humid up here in the summer, but nowhere near as hot as it gets for you guys. My friend went to Alabama to visit a friend over the summer a couple of years ago and she said it was awful. I'll just take her word for it, since I am the opposite of you and have a much harder time handling the heat.
We were supposed to get more flurries last night, but it looks about the same as it did yesterday to me. We've got more coming Sunday night and Thursday, I believe, but I hope it's just flurries.
The air does get thick down here in the summer. It's hard to breathe sometimes, and just walking to your car you can break out in a sweat.
Aww love the bow in Bella's hair!
YAY for Brooklynn figuring out how to get Bella to stand with her in pictures I can't wait to hear how she does with the characters on your next trip!
She is warming up to her Disney friends. We'll see how she does again in five short weeks!
Oh, MeMom, this made me cry because it is so true!!!
Love how Brooklyn convinced Bella to get in the pictures.
I just think it would be good for the lawmakers to spend some time in the trenches.
Brooklynn is a good big sister. When I put up those pictures, I just wanted to give her a big hug.
Brooklynn was a great big sister holding Bella's hand.
I am with you every time I visit the kitchen section I pick up the measuring cups and spoons. So far I have resisted, but this might be the trip temptation becomes too much. I actually need new measuring spoons and cups. Mine are over 30 years old. One of my favorite shops at MK is the little kitchen shop around the corner from the HH.
Yes, I love the kitchen stuff! My kitchen isn't decorated for the red & black or for the light blue & white sets WDW sells, but just having certain little things in the drawers to pull out and remind you of Disney when you cook is nice.
We're thinking of doing a Chef Mickey Day with the little cousins, so I am betting I will finally make a couple of those purchases that have been on hold. We were going to do it at spring break, but since Bella's party is the first part of April, I think I'll see if they'd like to do that in June. I'm going to try to find some cheap little chef hats and let them make their own pizzas, salads, and desserts. Don't you think that would be a fun Disney kids' day?
Great, great character pictures So happy Big Sis is helping out I really like the picture of Bella watching Donald Too cute
So happy Carter is doing well
I laughed right out aloud about Bella and her potato parts And then Heather mentioned her daughter and the gems....I bet this happens quite often because a lot of the merchandise is strategically placed at eye level.
Hope you are staying warm....I know your happy, sunny Disney pictures sure are helping me. It is frigid here and will be getting colder throughout the weekend. Sunday is a high of 10 and low of -8. I think I will just look at the outside from my windows!!
Tracy
I guess I won't complain about our overnight 15, then. We'll be in the high 20's today. Yes, you should stay in!!!
I guess other people's kids have probably strolled away with stuff, too, so I'm not going to feel too bad about it. They probably have 500,000 parts in Once Upon a Toy, and Bella didn't make away with any really great ones.
I am happy to hear that Brooklynn's friend did so well in surgery. It is amazing what doctors can do.
I love all the character pictures. Bella is getting closer to the characters, she will be right up there with Brooklynn soon.
Jill thinks she'll do a lot better this time. It may take her a day to warm up, but she'll probably do well when left to her own decision.
It is definitely amazing what they can do with heart issues these days. We've had people at church who had what sounded like really serious stuff, and they were home in a couple of days. Chalk that up to lots of smart people and good research. They have made great strides in so many areas in the medical field.
I have finally made it out of lurkdom! I've always read the DIS at work, but was unable to post from there. I now have a laptop at home and am trying to figure all of this out! I have really enjoyed following along on all of your trips. My last trip was before Christmas in 2006. I am hoping to go for my 50th in 2013. In the meantime, I will continue to get my disney "fix" from everyone's trip reports!
Glad to have you here.
You will love being in Disney World on your birthday!
The DIS is the place to get your Disney fix, alright!
Coming out of lurkdom to say DITTO!!!! I wish the policymakers had a clue what it is really like to be in a classroom trying to make a difference for the students and jump through all of the hoops they keep throwing out for us poor teachers. Okay....end rant.
I am really enjoying your trip report. I live in Middle TN btw about 80 miles south of Nashville. My family will hopefully be taking our first trip to Disney World the second week of June.
I know, when I typed all that I thought to myself - RANT!

Most people just don't have a clue what it is like in the classroom.
You'll have to come the next time we have a Nashville DIS meet. It'll probably be at Cool Springs, since there is no Opry Mills any more.
Teachers are sooooo underpaid, underrated, and underunderstanded. my daughters word.
I often send little thank you notes to my kids teachers, even the high school teachers. Isn't it just so sad that they seem surprised to recieve them.
All teachers aren't great, but most are and for that
All YOU TEACHERS......THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

KIM
I'm liking that underpaid part. Can we make her the head of the Teachers' Salaries Department???
I'm not greedy. Maybe if I could just have enough to cover two Disney trips a year...

I'll pay for the others out of my regular salary, and then two out of my new raise.
Yeah, that sounds good!
I'm not one of them, but we do have some AWESOME teachers that hang out around here. I just know they have some incredible classrooms and put so much time and effort into making things great for their students. They do need to be applauded, for sure!
