My Name Is NOT Broccoli!

My chores are pretty much done, and I have done all the pre-cooking I can do.

There is nothing left to do now but wait.

And Dis, of course.
Ah, it is so nice to have time to do the fun things. :thumbsup2

If you have been following Anita and Marc on FB, you have gotten a nice little dose of Disney Christmas.

Instead of putting up clip art to wish you all a Merry Christmas over the next few days, I'm going to put up Christmas ornaments from my tree and from Jill's. I'm guessing some of you have some of the same ones, too. :santa:

From my small tree.

I may be forced to go back to a big tree soon, as I think I have reached my limit for this one. I like the little one, though. It's easy to put up and then put away when it is all over. I don't have to have a lot of room for storage, either.

Anyway, Merry Christmas Eve eve! ;)
Everyone stay safe on the roads and in the crowds.

I told you this year would fly by. ::yes::

I hope you do get to go to Disney World before you start school, but in college, you'll have some nice long breaks, too. Maybe the money will be more of a factor then, though. I can certainly understand that!

It was not a hassle for us to change resorts. We just went ahead and packed the bulk of what we had used and kept out the last two nights worth of stuff. It was well worth any hassle at all to stay at Wilderness Lodge. :)

It really is flying by! The semester ends January 19 for me. We have the day after Martin Luther King Jr. Day off too for special elections. Exams are Wed, Thurs, and Fri of that week and Mon of the next week. Those four days we only have to go in if we have an exam. I only have one during exam week! I'm exempt from my English exam because I did well on the testing last year. Most of my other classes are electives and those exams are during the normal school days. Most seniors are like that. The only one I have to take is Math on the Wednesday of that week. So I get a 4 day weekend, go in for two hours, and then get a 5 day weekend :cool1: One of my friends doesn't have to go in at all during exam week so she gets 10 straight days off

I think my mom is definitely leaning toward the Feb trip :) We've just been talking about it hypothetically but last night she said "when we go" instead of "if we go." She caught herself right after she said it but that didn't slip by me ;) I think we'll see how much WL is with our pin code, and if it's too much we'll split with a moderate. We always book through AAA and they have discounts on the park tickets and flights so that'll help. It's the money that would be a concern in college. But I'm living at home at least for a while so that'll save a lot. Dorms are $11,000 per year :scared1:

I'm officially on vacation until January 3rd

Hey Memom, Jill and everyone

Just stopping by to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. I love your tree - those decorations look gorgeous.

I am just about to head off to my parents place - they live an hour away on a little farmlet and we are all gathering there. My grandmother will be 94 on 26th Dec so we will be having a bit of a celebration for her as well. We are meant to have a beautiful hot day for Christmas Day as it is our summer so heres hoping they have it right. Today it is awful - 130K gale winds and rain. I live beside the airport and it is quite scary watching the planes take off and they tip from side to side. They may close the airport for awhile as its getting dangerous.

Well have a lovely holiday and will be in touch in the New Year. Keep safe and enjoy your time with the your lovely little ones.

have a good one

Merry Christmas eve eve to you too MeMom! :p

Our tree this year is small too compared to the 6 footers we usually get. I like short trees, though, I think they look cute. :) Back to baking now- even though we started two days ago there is still so much to be done. I can't wait to eat it all!

What a fun tree!! :santa: I have one little tree (just Disney) and a little larger one for the keepsake ornaments. I am honestly not looking forward to taking it down; it just makes my living room look so cozy and festive!!

I got a surprise 'you're not in Disney World, but we can still have Disney fun' package today from a sweet DIS friend. I am taking it to Alabama with me in the morning where two excited little girls (and their mommy) will be thrilled along with me. I will take a picture and share more later. I will tell you that it is from a DISer with two adorable little boys. She goes to Disney World a lot. She went to Disneyland recently.

Can you guess who it is? :)

DIS friends are just the absolute best people around, aren't they?

HO HO HO :santa:

I believe it is a very happy DISer. :goodvibes

I have to wait until to tomorrow to bite into one of Mickey's ears, since I wouldn't want to do that without the girls.

Of course, they don't even know there are cookies at all, sooo..... :rolleyes1

Picture me here with a guilty look and a little green frosting on the side of my mouth. ;)

Oh don't worry, I have two little Christmas elves who have been spied recently with green icing on the sides of their mouths!

Happy Christmas to you! :santa:

Dorm costs are a lot, aren't they? That's why Trent ended up commuting his last two years.

I hope your weather gets a little nicer for Christmas. That's scary thinking about what you said about the planes! We're supposed to get a little snow. I hope it will be just a little.

Merry Christmas eve eve to you too MeMom! :p

I like my little Charlie Brown tree, but it is getting full. Some of the ornaments from Disney World are too heavy for the branches, so I've got them sitting around at the bottom. I need to look at alternatives, like those metal branch type things they make now just to hang ornaments on. Maybe I could put those heavier ones on one of those. I've got another year to think about it.

The house does look very bare after all the decorations come down. A January house is cleaner, but not nearly as fun and cozy and a December house.

Oh don't worry, I have two little Christmas elves who have been spied recently with green icing on the sides of their mouths!

Happy Christmas to you!

Do you have pictures of your boys putting their talents to work making all those cookies?

I did tell Brooklynn about the cookies, so they will be safe in my care until I get them to Alabama. Those cookies have traveled a lot of miles!

******************************

Did anybody happen to see My First Place a little while ago on HGTV? That young couple is going to be paying $4657 a month for their house! I don't know about you guys, but I think that is a TON of money! I am amazed at how much money people make when I see stuff like that.

Whoa, MeMom, that is a LARGE payment. You've touched on one of my favorite things / guilty pleasures about watching those shows on HGTV. It astounds me how much some of these younger couples pay for homes; makes me wonder what they do for a living that allows them to be affluent right out of the gate. I want their jobs! :rotfl: But seriously, there seems to be a lack of the concept that you start from somewhere and work your way up to a home like that. But whatever - if they can afford it without having to eat ramen in their empty living room, more power to them. :thumbsup2

So funny that you say that, as Drew and I have more than our share of noodles in the past weeks. :upsidedow I am always after him to turn lights off, and I've just about been counting the drips of water we've had to keep running on the cold nights. Drip, drip, drip go those Disney trip pennies! When I came in with all of my groceries for this weekend, his eyes lit up because we had food. :goodvibes I told him to keep his mitts off of it, though, until everyone gets here. Then he can indulge himself. Merry Christmas, Drew, you can eat! :santa:

More Merry Christmas ornaments....

Jill's two new ones for this year.

Calling it a night now. When we wake up, it will be Christmas Eve.

Love the tree!!! So pretty! Is everyone where they need to be safely now???

I watch those shows too! I'm not sure if they are as affluent as they would like to think. I think a lot of them get in over their heads which is such a shame. :headache: I have a friend who bought her house when real estate was really high around here....and its a struggle for them. The husband has to work two full time jobs, barely sleeps and she works full time too. Ugggg.

I talked to Trent a few minutes ago. He did have to pull over and sleep for a little while. I don't know where he stopped, though. He was about to get off the interstate, so he is almost to Jill's house now.

I have been delayed in a major way, however, as I woke up to no heat. I have a call in to the AC people, and they can be here between 9 and 10. Please pray for this to be a quick and easy and CHEAP fix. It is supposed to be 17 again at night in a few days, and I can't do bursting pipes on top of this. Right now, I am just trying to process what it is I am going to do, because I don't have the money for a new unit. Space heaters may just have to get us through for now, but boy, oh boy, I do not want to go that route. Too dangerous to leave them on while I am at work, of course. I could sure go for having one in my bedroom right now, though!

I have great need to look at these happy little ornaments this morning. :santa:

An official Merry Christmas Eve to all of you!

We hope this day is filled with family, friends, and fun, and lots of good food, too! Enjoy your day making treasured memories that you will hold dear for the rest of your lives. This one should be memorable for me, for sure. Hoping it ends up being as good as it has started out bad. If so, I am in for an awesome day! ;)

Understand this, please - it still hurts to laugh.
You just hurt me.
Especially at the thought of paying Chelsea a dollar just to stand out on the soccer field.
I have seen so many little kids do so many things other than playing soccer out on the field, and I have heard plenty of bribes, so that struck me as very funny. I think we now need a picture of a tiny little Chelsea in her soccer outfit.

But Connor couldn't come up with a good enough bribe to get you to ride something with him this summer, as I recall.

I have to wait until to tomorrow to bite into one of Mickey's ears, since I wouldn't want to do that without the girls.

Of course, they don't even know there are cookies at all, sooo..... :rolleyes1

Picture me here with a guilty look and a little green frosting on the side of my mouth. ;)

Oh, yes, Chelsea had to be bribed to stand on the soccer field. :lmao: I will have to find a picture to post of her little cute self decked out in her uniform at three.

I can assure you the cookies are well worth the wait! Delicious! :goodvibes

Lots of prayers headed your way for a cheap, easy, and fast fix on your heater! You need to get down to Bama to be with your family! Drive safe!

Love all the Disney ornaments! :lovestruc

That is so funny! Those baked goods traveling across the miles! :santa: I do have cookie pics! I gotta get those things loaded from my camera, I hope to have time later today... busy but fun day! Making a ham this afternoon for dinner, eggnog, and other goodies to eat. wrapping a little, cleaning a few rooms up for guests... But it is just us till the family comes tomorrow... have to get ready for Santa! :goodvibes Safe travels!

Oh, and we have some of the same ornaments on our Disney tree! :santa:

Merry Christmas!!!

I bet she was the cutest little soccer player out there, though!

The cookies are sitting on my table waiting to go. Yum!

The repairman is on his way.
Cross you fingers.
Cross your toes.
Cross you eyes.
Whatever it takes... ;)

I've already missed out on the girls seeing Trent and hot cinnamon rolls put into the oven by an oven-mitted Brooklynn herself.

Jill has a tree big enough to hold a lot of cool Disney ornaments. :thumbsup2

Memom where was that house with the 4000 monthly payment? Happy Holidays!

I don't even remember where it was, really. I just know when they said the payment was that much, I was like this: :scared1: Of course, I bought this house 24 years ago, so my payment is probably less than most have to pay. It might not be so :scared1: to others.

Happy Holidays to you, too!

I hope you are well on your way and your pocketbook is not much thinner.

Merry Christmas to the whole Memom gang!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Brooklynn and I had a Mickey ear just a few minutes ago, followed by a white chocolate-covered pretzel rod.
I have had my eye on a pan of rocky road fudge that it sitting on the counter. :goodvibes

I hope you are well on your way and your pocketbook is not much thinner.

Merry Christmas to the whole Memom gang!!!

It is a bit thinner, and it's going to get even worse, but I have heat, and I hope I can work out a credit line with them. For now, I'm going to enjoy the holiday and worry about it later. There's nothing I can do today.

We ate spaghetti, lasagna, salad, and garlic bread for lunch. We're sitting around watching Christmas movies now, and people are all around the room coming in and out of a comatose state. We watched The Muppets' Christmas Carol, and now we have just put in Christmas Vacation. Bella is sleeping. Brooklynn has been tracking Santa. He's about to get to northern Africa. :santa:
