My Name Is NOT Broccoli!

Just checking in really quick. We had 14 new students start on Monday while I was gone and today was picture day, plus we are in the middle of registration for next school year, open house is this weekend, and I had to do 2 tours for prospective families. After work we drove to a town about 45 minutes from the house because my friend just had her 2nd little girl on Tuesday. We visited them at the hospital and brought them dinner. The girls are in bed sleeping soundly and I am very glad tomorrow is Friday!

 Nothing like coming back and hit the ground running. Glad the weekend is right around the corner.

We're a silly bunch, aren't we? As soon as I drop my kids off at lunch, I go back to my room and pull up the DIS.

As I get busier at work I am struggling to keep up. But now that I can do it by phone I can grab a moment when I can.

You will be better off than us, as crowds will lessen and prices will, too, after the 1st.

Since we're doing 'Ohana on July 4th, we were thinking of doing 1900 Park Fare for dinner on NYE, but if a whole crowd is going to be there for NYE, I guess we might reconsider. I want to be sure they allow us on the beach, of course. If we do, and if we are lucky enough to score a reservation, maybe we can just add your number (3 of you?) to our ADR. I think you can have up to a party of 12 right now, and I doubt we'll have that many. We can talk later.

Just to let you know- we had absolutely NO TROUBLE getting to the Poly for fireworks, except of course going through bag check at EPCOT with contraband, :rotfl2: even that was no trouble in the end.
No questions, no ADR's, no one asked to see our key to the world either. :confused3 Using Disney transportation was easy, now driving in may yield different results.

Happy Friday after vacation, Memom and Jill! I know that day can't come to an end fast enough. My DH has told me that he never wants to have to come back to work mid week again after being on vacation. It's just too hard for him to get motivated! He calls it having a bad case of the "Bitmores".... meaning he doesn't a bit more want to go back to work than the man in the moon! I know that is such a countryfied thing to say! :rolleyes1 You could just hear the twang in my voice when you read that, couldn't you? :)

Hope your day goes by super fast so you can work on relaxing some this weekend! :cloud9:

I thought I came back to a stressful situation at work after our trip, but it is tame compared to Jill's!:scared1: I'm sure that you would agree it was all worth being at WDW. I hope you both get some rest this weekend, I plan to. I also plan to wash clothes since we are all out of clean ones.:sad2:

Hi MeMom and Jill:

It has been ages since I have posted on the Dis. Let me start off by saying how nice it was to meet both of you in July at Club Cool. The girls are adorable.

I am about half way through this trip.

:love:Loved the stuffed animals around your house at Christmas. What a great collection you have!

Loved the picture MeMom of you with your family!

I can't believe you walked out of a Disney shop with merchandise!!!! Too Funny. I would have died!!! Loved the comment about looking for the people with Mickey handcuffs!

Too cute about the little girl calling Brooklyn broccoli!

I am halfway through so I will have to catch the rest of it up tonight. I am anxious to see your pictures from SSR and your thoughts about staying there.

I can't wait to read about your latest trip---especially Flower and Garden festival. We had hoped to be there over spring break but the snow we got in southern Ohio has caused us to be in session most of our spring break. I guess I will have to live it through your awesome photos!

We are heading back in June/July. Maybe we can meet up again if you will be there over the 4th!

Erika

Saw Katie mention something about a 4th meet and had to jump in. I'm tentatively thinking of a trip for the shuttle launch currently scheduled for June 28. I wasn't going to include Disney in this trip since I have my November trip in the works but if there's going to be a Poly fireworks meet, I just might try to fit that in the plans (assuming the launch isn't seriously delayed)

Yes - come on! :dance3:
We're eating at 'Ohana, and we have empty spots, since Anita and Marc revised their dates. You could take those. Would it be you, you and a friend, or you and the family?

We've never had problems getting over there before either, but I thought just in case they are doing any checks or stalls or stops, we should have an ADR at either Poly or GF. We can walk over from GF.

I have a lot of report reading to catch up on this weekend.

Yep, I was fading out yesterday. I went to bed around 9 o'clock, too. :)

I'm in pretty good shape now. I've done my washing, and Drew had the house in surprisingly good shape. I suspect it could have been the girlfriend that had a hand in that, though.

So glad to have you back!
We'll be there July 2nd to 7th, so let's plan to cross paths. :thumbsup2

The flowers in Epcot were beautiful. The topiaries around World Showcase were the usual. The ones out front weren't all that impressive. The sand sculpture is still just a pile of sand. Looks like it will be themed to the new African Cats movie. I'm sure it will be very cool.

We're having to go one day of spring break. Instead of having two weekends and the whole week in between, we have to go that Monday. There will be a zillion teachers and kids out, though, so it'll pretty much be a day of babysitting.

Welcomre Back!! Can't wait for the new report. We changed our dates and are now going with our best Disney buddies who we met through the DIS :) Have a great weekend!!

We will deffinitely have to chat later on if you decide to book an O'Hana dinner on NYE.....;)

So kind of you to offer to add us in. I anticipate my chances to be very slim.

Yes, it looks like just us 3 again. Aaron is not interested. No surprize there.

I'm hoping the holiday crowd will leave by the first...and it's a bonus that the rates will drop too.

My only goals are to see the Christmas decorations before they take them down and celebrate NYE with some special DIS friends. :)

Oh my I can't stop yawning....I barely slept last night so it's catching up to me now. :rotfl:

Maybe it was the giant slice of chocolate birthday cake I had after dinner. (my DMom's birthday is today)

One of the presents we got her was a little Disney garden, complete with Mickey & Minnie seeds.
It was a little gesture since she was suppose to be at the F&G festival today and dining at Garden Grill.
I got it at a Walmart in the USA.
You may want to pick one up for Brooklynn & Bella. Could be a fun spring project.

There was a Princess Garden and Cars Garden too!
Also many seed packets with different characters on them.

Welcome home!!! Can't wait to hear all about your trip!!! Enjoy your weekend!!!

After another night of catching up on sleep, if Jill can load the first SD card of pictures, we'll be ready to roll!

DIS friends are very nice to have. I'm thinking your girls are going to get some spoiling from some nice people, too. :goodvibes

I have yawned all day, and Jill was yawning on the phone when we were talking. If you go right back to work after a trip, it takes a few days to catch up on rest and other things.

It is so hard to go straight back to work! I always need a couple of days to relax after vacation!

I have to give you guys, and Christine, so much credit for coming home and going right back to work and school. Charles got back from Hawaii on Saturday and ended up going on about 30 hours of no sleep, had off Sunday, and went back to work on Monday. He was wishing for another day or two off. I can't imagine coming home and going to work and school the next day! I hope you get to relax this weekend!

I am glad I backed up to see that you had added this. I'll be checking our Walmart stores to see if they have these, too. This would not only be fun for the girls, but I could have them in my classroom, too. Last year, we had a lady come out and help us grow a big garden, but I don't think she is going to be coming this year. She has had some health problems, and she and her husband are planning to do some traveling now that she is better. Plus, she has a new grandbaby in another state, so she would rather be going to see her rather than digging around in the dirt with a bunch of kids she doesn't know. I can't blame her, of course. I wish some of us knew enough about gardening to do it again, though, because the kids enjoyed it. Maybe I could handle doing a few of the Disney kits and having them in our classroom window. :)

It is so hard to go straight back to work! I always need a couple of days to relax after vacation!

I am very glad I had to work only two days. I was ready for the weekend. I never get anywhere near enough rest on a Disney trip!

Jill and I got text messages from Kay on Thursday saying she didn't know how we were making it going back to work. She still has several days off, and she said she was at home completely wiped out!

I was going to stay home all day today and do my errands tomorrow after church, but now that I have seen those gardening kits, I am kind of wanting to go check those out this morning. If I do, I'll go early before the crowds and then get on back home for the rest of the day. I'll probably end up just calling to see if they have them, and then I can go by there tomorrow either before or after church and pick up a few. I do have to work on report cards a little and grade a set of Math papers, but other than that, the weekend is mine to just relax.

Does Charles have some beautiful Hawaii pictures? Feel free to share a few.

I hope you find the kits, they would be perfect for your class.
They were about $10 and the seed packs $2 :goodvibes

Let me know if you don't and I can take a drive down to get them for you. ;)

If we lived closer to you my DMom would love to help your class with thier garden project. :)

I think I may take your advice and book an extra day off when I get back from my trip....sounds like a great idea!

Good Morning MeMom! I'm up early this morning! Always happens when I could sleep later if I wanted to. We have heavy rain, thunder and lighting here. We got a taste of spring and now the water is back! UGH
Anyway, glad you and the girls had a great time. Bella is going to be leading the way pretty soon. Huh? She looks like she is becoming very much at home at the World. And, Brooklynn is getting to the age and size to enjoy all those "thrill" rides. I loved the TT pic.
I'm so glad you got to spend some time at WL. I hope those "magical" coins tossed in the water works for us when the time is right.lol In July if you make it over there again THAT will be the PERFECT time. But, maybe I'll go and see if it will work if I toss a few coins in myself.lol But, I'm really leaning towards trying to get there the end of December.
Well off to start my day, hope you have a great one.

Yes - come on! :dance3:
We're eating at 'Ohana, and we have empty spots, since Anita and Marc revised their dates. You could take those. Would it be you, you and a friend, or you and the family?

It would be me and the family if we go. I'm not holding my breath that the launch will go off as scheduled (as much as I would love to snag the great deal on tickets available for that week and book the cottage I found online with a private riverside view of the launch, I'm not willing to put the money out there yet. Of course that means a decent chance of losing those opportunities :guilty:)

BUT I love the thought of Ohana with Dis friends so I will keep it in my hat of wishes!!

Does Charles have some beautiful Hawaii pictures? Feel free to share a few.

Yes, he does! One beach that they went to, called Black Sand Beach (it had just that -- black sand), there were a couple of sea turtles just chilling by the water, which I thought was so cool. Once I figure out how to post pictures with the foolish new picture viewer on Facebook I will definitely share a few.

I figured it out! I just right-clicked and did "open in new tab" and it worked to get the picture to full size.

They got to see a lava flow. There are many that Charles didn't upload and he said that the pictures don't do justice to how barren and strange it was.

Sorry I posted so many but there were SO many good ones to choose from. He got a ton of pictures and videos. They also did the Hawaii version of pick a pearl. Charles ended up picking one for me and it turned out to be a very decent-sized pearl (I think about the size of the one on my ring, which was 7 1/2 or 7 3/4 mm.) I picked out a cage online with a plumeria flower to put it in. His little sister also chose to do it, and got the rare blue/black pearl! She got it set into a pendant with dolphins. All the pictures he got make me want to go there so badly some day!

Thanks for sharing Megablocks, his pics are great!

Love the hibiscus and turtle ones!

It is my dream to go to Hawaii someday....and now that they built the gorgeous new Disney resort Aulani...I see it happening in my future...once I save enough $$$$. ;)

I was planning to take it easy myself today, it's raininng here but now I'm going into town.
Lexi just informed me it's the last day she can download some special limited "pokemon" at the game store. Guess she saw it on a commercial.

Not sure exactly what we are going for but she is very excitted....:confused3

Has anyone been to the Wishes Dessert Party? I booked it for our June trip and was wondering how it was.

I decided to stay home today, but I'll check either tomorrow or Monday. I'll also check on Walmart's website, but if for some reason I can't get them, I may touch base with you on getting me some. Thanks for the offer. :)

I would take your mom's gardening help. The kids so enjoyed planting last year and watching the green begin to pop out of the ground. They loved digging the potatoes out of the ground, too.

Yes, I would advise a day off following your trip to sleep late and catch up on sleep. I get so little sleep in WDW that I am a zombie when I get home. I took a nap a little while ago - a good hard sleep for about an hour and a half. I think I very much needed it.

Well off to start my day, hope you have a great one.

It's been rainy and overcast here all day. I think it helped me, though, because I decided to take a nap, and that was a good thing.

Brooklynn loves certain thrill rides. I tried to get her to ride ToT with me, but she didn't want to. The ghosts freak her out a little.

We tossed various coins in this time - pennies to quarters, so maybe they'll be good for little wishes and big ones. :)

It would be me and the family if we go. Well, maybe we'll see you on the beach. I'll let you know about the 'Ohana number as we go along. It depends on who all ends up going from our bunch. It would be fun to have your guys joining in with our girls. It would make for a lively table!

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. I would love to see a sea turtle on shore. I want to do that sometime down at Vero Beach, if we can get some Disney points to stay there.

Hawaii, and especially Disney Hawaii, sounds really good, but the airplane ride to get there would be too much for me, I think. I can take the less than two hours from BNA to MCO, but I am more than ready to get off when we land!

Has anyone been to the Wishes Dessert Party? I booked it for our June trip and was wondering how it was.

I know at least two or three of our group have. You might want to message kschafer, in case she doesn't see your post, because I know she has.
