My Mum went off on the bus today to visit my Dad in the nursing home. She does this twice a week. Now, first off, let me explain that they were divorced over 30 years ago, but remained friendly and she visits him now as a way of helping my sister and I out - we visit on the other days but she 'frees us up' when she goes.
Anyway, on the bus she gave her seat up to this woman, who pushed passed her without saying thanks. Mum says the woman didn't speak English, but a smile and a nod would have done.
Further down the road this woman got up so Mum went to sit back down, but instead this woman held Mum back to let her friend sit down, as she wasn't getting off. The cheek!
Oh, did I mention - Mum is 77 ? She looks so young that she feels obliged to give up her seat to other pensioners.
These horrible women were probably younger than her.
