Good to hear it's getting resolved!

I had problems one time when I used my debit card to put down the deposit and pay for our reservation. We switched resorts and it took awhile for the crfedit to appear and since it was my check card I was sweating the return.

Then when we checked in I went to pay off the balance and it wouldn't go through. Turns out the bank had a limit on how much you could sppend in one place with our check cards without calling and asking for the money to be cleared. So then I had to call from the front desk and that was such a pain.

So now I just use my American Express for anything travel related, if the credit doesn't come back they'll fight for me and immediately credit my account back, which is nice.
 
This is so odd because two times this past year I booked ressies & when I made changes, my deposit (credit card) was transferred; I even received a confirmation from WDW. First time it was for WL & we decided to stay at the Swan in May instead so we changed our WL ressie to December & the deposit was transferred; second was for our upcoming Sept/Oct trip when we initially booked CR & then changed to AKL savannah. Our deposit was transferred both times.

I don't think changing the resort is what causes the deposit/payment transfer problems .... I'm pretty sure it's when you change from 'room-only' to a 'package' (or vice versa) and Disney has to issue refunds is where the problems occur.

Sure can get complicated!

It can be room-only to room-only as that's what happened to me. What happened is they cancelled one ressie (I had a split ressie-WL/Poly, with the most of the money on the Poly-then I went to WL only to save money and that's when this all happened), and instead of transferring the money-it was put in as a cancelled ressie and the money was refunded.

I have now found out that I should be issued a refund check for the $200. that was paid with gift cards, but probably won't see that for 2-3 weeks. BUT, I still have $60.00 that is unaccounted for and they're "working on that." The $60. was on a credit card, so it should not be a problem. The rest of the money has been refunded to credit cards.

I liked paying ahead and seeing the amount we owed go down-like I said, we had almost $700. paid off, and now we only have $200. paid. Eventhough we'll still have the money, it's frustrating to me. In the past week, I've literally spent over 5+ hours on the phone with people trying to get this straigtened out. One CM has been lovely and seems to be pulling for us. I'll feel better when all of my money is accounted for!:)
 

I'm so glad I read this thread.
We were thinking of paying for our rooms ahead of time just to make things easier and to get the Points I get from my bank each time I use the card.( so we could cash in the points for a gift card)
Now I think I will just pay for the rooms when we get there and avoid any possible aggrevation.
 
This happened to us just recently and we just gave them another credit card number and they refunded it to the credit card instead of the gift card. It can be done.. you'll get it straightend out :)
 
ChristyJ, the CM I spoke with about my complaint did offer to reimburse me for my long distance calls. BTW you have my time beat I had invested about 3 hrs. of "on hold time".

darlene-that's interesting (about having phone calls reimbursed)-I may very well ask-only because it will put us over (way over) on our mins. this month-we get 200 mins. included in our phone plan-I
'm sure it will get resolved-I would just like to have things done quickly (or quicker than they're getting done).

So I have new news-good & bad.

First, they DID refund the gift cards, but I found one more of them-so now I still am out $50.00 because I don't have that card. I'm going to go to the bank that issued the card to me this morning and see if they will give me the full account number & exp. date (I have the last 4 numbers of the card), then I'll be able to reapply that $ to our ressies.

I'm still waiting to find out where an additional $85. went-they think I'll receive it via a refund check, but no one seems to know that for sure.

THE GOOD NEWS: I should say GREAT news...the last CM I spoke with said "I'm going to do something for you-you're eligible for a code I have." I don't know what the code is, but I just got the WL woods view for $134. (and change )per night!!!!!!!!:) :tongue:

I am so lost. I changed from AKL PV to CSR WV and my deposit transferred right over. IF AP rates ever come out I want to change back to deluxe. Am I going to have the same problem??
 
WeLoveThePoly-Yes, I do feel like this was all a blessing in disguise!:)

Some pixie dust blew our way-I went to the bank today and was able to get the numbers & exp. date from the gift card I had gotten rid of, so now have access to that money. :)

CindyGusGus-I had changed our ressies sooo many times, and the last time I did was the morning of Charlie-I think everything just got jumbled up with the chaos of the day and instead of having my payment on the Poly transferred, they refunded it. Hopefully it won't happen to you-I would just make sure you say right off the bat that you want your money transferred.

This was definately a learning experience for me!:crazy:

I had a similiar thing happen to me. I had had to cancel our paid off trip to rebook with a better rate, and my $$ was in limbo for almost 2 weeks. :(

I finally got it back and re-booked and now I'm considering not paying it off till we get there, in case better rates come up.
