Well my mom was down in disney for a couple of weeks, my greatgrandmother is having some health problems so my mom came home. She is sooo sad. :guilty: She loved it there. BUT: she found out what she wants to do when she goes back. She was a mousekeeper because she wasn't sure of what job she wanted. When she goes back she wants to work on the main street barber shop. She is a hairdresser, and loved it when she ventured in there. So she found her dream job! :yay:

Good for her! I read on another thread somewhere that they were currently offering a $1000 signing bonus to new mousekeepers...you may want to get her to look into that asap. :goodvibes

Congrats to your Mom ! :cool1:

My DH & I will move to FL and get jobs at WDW when our kids are on their own. We have professional jobs now - but DH wants to drive the monorails and I would love to work in reservations. :goodvibes

How neat, snickerpoo. Mom sounds like a neat lady. :goodvibes And my best for your greatgrandma too.

Thank you so much. Yeah my mom is pretty neat. Grandma is doing pretty good. If only this heat would break!! :wave2:

What a fun job that would be. She would be giving so many little ones their first Disney haircut. :goodvibes

She talked to a cm who worked at the shop and said how much she loved her job. pixiedust: So that got my mom even more excited!!

Okay, I'm confused. Your thread title stated your mom got a job. Then you posted that she "wants to" work at the Main Street barbershop. So did she actually get hired to work there or not? (the end)

Did she ask how they pay. Just curious. I am a hairdresser too and often wonder how they work the money!

So she was a mousekeeper, or did she think she wanted to be a mousekeeper? Does she work at WDW or not? I don't get it.

I am guess she used work WDW, greatgrandmother get sick, so fly home. Now wants go back as hairdresser.

Cool beans! Tell your mom congrats for me! You know I wonder if she would enjoy working at the bibbity bobbity botique too? One cool thing about working at WDW from what I understand is they get the privilidge of bringing family members to the parks for free on their off days. I had a couple that both worked in WDW tell me this at Biergarten, they were there on their day off having lunch..

Yes she was working before as a mousekeeper and had to leave because my grandmother is not in good health. Sorry for the confusion, I had other posts before my mom got a job at disney and part two. Thought many familiar with the thread would understand.

She wasn't sure what she wanted to do, just knew she wanted to work at disney, so she took the mousekeeping job. When she goes back she would like to work at the main street barbershop. She also looked into the bibbiddi bobbidi boutique, but really liked the barbershop atmosphere. :thumbsup2

I was a cast member at The Disney Store for 5 years. I knew many TDS cast members who "transfered" to WDW. My DH and I always joke that when I retire from teaching we are going to move to Florida and work for the mouse. One can always dream. I can say working at TDS was one of the best part-time jobs I've ever had. The magic is not only for the guests but for the cast members too.
