What you were told is correct. A pelvic fracture, while quite painful, does not require any surgical intervention. Time, rest, and gentle activity is really all she needs. A walker will help take the pressure off her pelvis, yet she may feel a lot of groin pain, especially when she first stands up. She needs to keep moving and do some light exercise, did they recommend any physical therapy? It take about 6 weeks to heal, but she should gradually feel better as those weeks go by.
