We are on a snow day, we knew it was coming. When we went to the grocery I told her to get me some brownie mix.

I made a half batch without nuts for my Sdad and one and a half batch with walnuts and pecans for me and mom.

The timing was just right they came out perfect. Thick but not as high as a cake.

Soft, gooey but totally cooked through in the middle and the edges were chewy but not burnt.

She's already eaten about 5 of them. I made them last night.

Yummy! I might need to make brownies when I get home tonight!

Maybe you are evil, because now I am craving brownies.

If you want to be real evil make this..... Paula Deens double chocolate gooey butter cake

Ingredients
Butter, for greasing pan, plus 16 tablespoons (2 sticks) butter, melted
1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
1 egg, plus 2 eggs
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3 to 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 (16-ounce) box powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped nuts
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Lightly grease a 13-by-9-inch baking pan. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, 1 egg, and 8 tablespoons (1 stick) melted butter, and stir until well blended. Pat mixture into prepared pan and set aside. In a stand mixer, or with a hand mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the remaining 2 eggs, and the cocoa powder. Lower the speed of the mixer, and add the powdered sugar. Continue beating until ingredients are well mixed. Slowly add the remaining 8 tablespoons (1 stick) of melted butter, and the vanilla, continuing to beat the mixture until smooth. Stir in nuts with a rubber spatula. Spread filling over cake mixture in pan.

Bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Be careful not to overcook the cake; the center should still be a little gooey when finished baking. Let cake partially cool on a wire rack before cutting into pieces.

This is sooo good. it looks like brownies, but it is to die for.

I quoted you just in case you're evil enough to remove it ;)

This is making my mouth water!!!!! Looks like I'll be making these brownies this weekend :cool1:

Mmmm, those sound good! I wish I had an evil daughter on a snow day today!

I think your evil as well. I am now craving brownies something fierce! :lmao:

That is exactly what I did for our snow day yesterday! Too funny!

I'm in North Carolina and it's soposed to start weathering anytime now. While everyone else was packing stores to get bread and milk, I braved Walmart for hot chocolate, marshmellows, whip cream, and brownie mix.:rotfl2::rotfl2: A girl has to have her priorities!! I also waited in a line longer than the standby line for Soarin to rent movies. I'm set for the weekend :thumbsup2

OP, I am craving brownies now and I would think you were evil if I was stuck here unable to make any, but fortunately I do have a brownie mix sitting on the kitchen counter right now! :rotfl:

I went out this morning because we were out of milk and I wanted to get it before the locusts swept the shelves bare this afternoon once schools were out. But then the ice got here early and everyone else had the same idea, so it was horribly crowded. I did get the milk, though. I also got brownie mix, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, hot fudge and butterscotch/caramel sauce. So we are set for the weekend! We're having a "Lost" marathon and eating junk food while we're iced in.

If I had seen this thread beforehand, I also would have gotten the ingredients for the Paula Deen recipe - it looks amazing!

Just to let you know, I have brownies in the oven baking right now--thanks a lot! :lmao:

And I'm not sure what is worse, saying 2 sticks of butter or 16 Tablespoons. :scared1: (But that sure does sound good.)

MWAH HA HA

Now you know it's all part of my evil plot for World Domination, I lure you in with the brownies and then you're too weak to resist when I scoop in for the kill.

Darn I wish I had thought about vanilla ice cream.;)

I was set and ready to defend you, but after reading you made brownies and did not share with your disboard friends...I whole heartedly agree with her assessment.:lmao:

:lmao:

My DD makes home made kick butt brownies that are irresistible. I tell her she is evil on a regular basis. So your mom is right you're evil!:lmao:

I've been staring at a pack of brownie mix for 2 weeks. This might be the weekend for it!

Brownie countdown 2010. Half gone, just had one, ummmm still moist and chewy. Gotta love my rubbermaid cupcake holder. Actually not sure it's a cupcake holder (no cupcake rounds to hold them) it's just a really big rectangle with a lid that latches and long handles that flip up from the lid to carry. But I use it for cupcakes.

Made bread today....it failed to rise, think my dough was too wet. Oh well. Fattning sugar bomb Brownies 1, healthy whole wheat bread 0. I'm thinkging that's a sign that I should stick to the brownies. :rotfl:
