My MIL...she's a pip!!

Well, I even get it from DH (who says I'm obsessed! Imagine that!).

I can see why you need to vent, its ok, we know how you feel.

I also can sympathize!!! I have an entire immediate and extended family that ask why we always go there, and we don't even go that often!!!! Some People will never understand why we love  it so.

:confused3 shes never been to Disney yet knows theres nothing there for her!!!! To her

its just a big carnival

a big dea to her is going up to Northern WI about a 4 hr drive to go to the casinos!!!

she gets so into planning these less then 24 hrs trips!!!! and all they do is sit in the casinos!!!

yet we suggested going to vegas!!

her reply-----theres nothing in vegas she can do her slots here!!!

go figure!!! and my FIL would love to go anywhere else!!!

he only takes her to do something!!!

some people dont understand the Disney magic!!

Only it's my parents, not IL's. We wanted to plan a grand gathering for DD's High School Graduation in May 2006. Now granted we are going anyway, but she wanted to invite both sets of GP's. My parents have already informed us they will not be going. My father is a retired Chemical Engineer from Exxon. They go and do as they wish, when and wherever they wish. I just wish it was with us to WDW. My IL's I think will go. They've not told us no yet. They've not made reservations yet either though. My SIL and I are always on the same page. If we could afford it we'd go twice a year!

Even DH's aunt and uncle (who sent us on our first trip to WDW in 2000) think it's silly to go in May 2006 when we just went at Thanksgiving 2004. And even sillier that we will go in May 2008 for our 20th anniversary. They would just die if we told them we were going to do a custom Vow Renewal ceremony with all the bells and whistles that come with it. :rotfl2: :rotfl:

We just plan our trips and go. I have become the "official" Disney expert at work. Anyone who begins to plan a trip comes to me for info. And of course, I send them here to the DIS.

Enjoy yourself, inspite of your IL's. It's Disney for goodness sake!

 You people are all crazy! It's nice to know I am in such good (and fun) company.

I get it from Mum, sister, husband, friends etc. etc. etc. They all think I should be locked up.

Look at it this way, if everyone loved Disney, the crowds would be unbearable. Works for me.

Oh, I feel for you... :guilty:

My MIL is exactly the opposite, and matter of fact when I met her years ago for the first time and we got to know each other, I realized I had finally found someone to match my fanaticism over the place!!!! She and my FIL will be joining us on our next trip and we can't wait. :goodvibes

My husband is severely Disney impaired. All of my trips are solo. But I'm not complaining, he bankrolls my addiction :teeth:

My MIL is a 'pip' too. When ever we go, she downplays it likes it's no big deal. She always asks if we're going to Universal too. She says she likes it better, yet she doesn't go on any rides.
But when she took her DD and family it was the best place in the world! Funny though, she's never asked to take my family.
She doesn't get why we go to WDW but she and FIL go to Aruba every year. They stay at the same hotel and eat at the same restaurants every time.
