Hey guys! I started taking Wen-do a couple months ago. It's a self defense/martial arts class for women. I'd recommend it to every women out there! I always thought I knew what I'd do in a situation and learned real fast that I had no clue!
Anways, our last class was tonight for the "beginners" sessions. At the end of the class our teacher brought out some wood boards and bricks. Yes, we all got to go up and take a crack at breaking the wood in two using our hands. I was so scared but finally after most of the class had went and succeeded, I decided to go up. And I literally broke the wood in two with my hands, it was the coolest thing every! Just had to share because I found it to be so thrilling!

Congrats! What a feeling of accomplishment that is!

My children are black belts in Tang Soo Do. They've broken 2 and 3 boards at a time with their hands, elbows and feet...no head breaks yet. They still have the very first board that they broke. The instructor signed and dated them. I could not believe it when those boards split!

You go girl!

Congratulations!! I also have 2 kids who are black belts in Tang Soo Do and watching their confidence soar after they broke boards was one of the best parts!!

Having the opportunity to do something that you think you can't do and the proper training to do it and then following through and accomplishing the impossible - WOW!!

Pat yourself on the back - you deserve it!!

Congratulations, I hope the class continues to do well.

Personally, I think the first class is way to early to be doing any breaking, but I think the idea was probably to show you that you can do things you did not think you were capable of accomplishing.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys! I think it's great that you've started your children off in martial arts at a young age. It's such a great tool to have. Of course you hope you'll never have to use it but it's important having that know how.
2 or 3 boards, eek! That must hurt!

The kids say that it only hurts if you don't break the boards.

ahaha, I guess eh? My hand has been soar the last couple days but it hasn't bruised up or anything. You can tell them, I'm mighty impressed!
