My Magical Journey to Running the Half Marathon TR Link! p.107

Matthew is my wee surprise brought home from disney when I thought I was long done with babies/nappies(diapers). I have a 20yr old and a 12yr old (called connor). I had forgotten what this was like but wouldn't swap it for the world! Grosses ut the other 2 kids though:rotfl:

There are brief moments when I glimpse a teeny tiny baby and I get that typical uterus ache. Now that my youngest is almost six, there are rare times that I could see myself having another. Not that it's going to happen since Chuck was snipped. :rolleyes1 I always wanted a bunch of kids, but I knew my husband didn't want more than three. I had to convince myself that I was done after three too. And most of the time, I can hardly handle the ones I have.

Having three so close together I don't feel like I really got to enjoy them as much as I could savor a baby now that they are older and more self-sufficient.

But, really - not like there would be any way to even get pregnant these days. :rotfl:

I  EE although the picture of me on it I think made it on your thread as it is really funny!

For me I think if I did a solo trip I'd be eating at the bar at places like Jiko or Blue Zoo...or the cute bars at BC/YC or doing counter service and then I'd be ok.

You are doing great!!!!

Sweat is good! :thumbsup2

I'm having an internal war about zumba tonight. Thrusdays are always a crapshoot whether I can make the time work with dinner, Jeff getting home and picking up K from soccer.

Yesterday at Zumba I noticed my right hip protesting a bit. Not in a bad way but still, I felt it. I did notice the effect of doing pilates sat, yoga sun, pilates tues and then zumba yesterday so am a little worried that if I go tonight I'm asking for trouble.

On the flip side if I don't, I won't get a work out in until next Tuesday unless it's just the bike or weights and I don't want that to happen either!

I, too, am on W5D2 of C25K and I must confess that I did the same thing. I just couldn't do the second 8 minute run. I think it was the cold that I just got over a few days ago. I was huff-puffing a lot more than usual so I took it easy. I figured that I'm still ahead of where I was five weeks ago! :)

By the way, your before and after achievement is impressive. :thumbsup2

Keep up the great work...

I know what you mean about eating alone....at Disney too. I did it once at GF. In 05 I took Aldine to the Wonderland Tea and just stayed there while she had her fun and I ate ate lunch at their tiny CS...now it was outside and the setting was beautiful but it did feel odd.

Now that I feel more at ease w/ Disney...I don't think I would feel weird just striking up a convo w/ someother guests.

Really hope the weekend is for you and Chuck...but that is very cool about the back up plan and rooming w/ Liz :thumbsup2

also nice poop talk all...yesterday DH let Margaret have a green fun dip and well you can just guess how it looked this morning

Thanks! And I feel the exact same way. I can't get upset with myself for not doing the entire run perfectly. Just a short time ago I wasn't doing anything! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I can totally see you striking up a conversation with other guests. :goodvibes

Hi! Joining in. I love your pre trip so far. Your progress is wonderful. You must be so proud of yourself.:) I think I have talked my husband into running the 1/2 marathon in Jan.2011 also. I just hope it is not to late to sign up. I do have to get a sitter for the weekend first though. This experience will be new for both of us so I will be following your progress. Hope you do not mind. Well congrats for now and hopefully my husband and I will be your fellow runners in Jan.

You're doing great Carissa!!

My kids always have a good laugh when they visit the bathroom after they have eaten something blue... ;)

Absolutely!! ::yes::

And I think that R&RC is much rougher than EE...

Kathy

That's the feeling I get reading everyone's responses about EE. I'm really not too worried about it.

:welcome: It's definitely not too late to sign up for the 1/2. I think last year it filled up by April. Are you currently a runner? Thanks for stopping by! :goodvibes

:rotfl: You gotta love boys.

Ok I've read the c25k link at the start of your trip report and taken the decision to join a gym so I can use their treadmills (no room for 1 at home-pity!). Do put all those speeds into the machine at the start of your session or do you just wing it and increase/decrease speed as you go? Definitely starting on tuesday and it's all because of you:)

That's so awesome! I really don't have the room in my house for a treadmill either. It really doesn't fit with the living room decor. And the sad thing is, our development has a nice little gym with great treadmills I could use for free. It's nice to know it's there once my husband gets back and our treadmill isn't holding up and I can't get outside.

I just increase/decrease the speed as I go. Treadmills usually have a speed control on the handle to make it a bit easier. There may be a way to set up a program, but I haven't really tried and I can't find my manual.

Definitely check back here and tell us how it goes! :thumbsup2

You might have already covered this but I glanced back and didn't see it, Do you do any downloads of music to get you through? I am doing everything outside and if I could download something to my IPOD it might make it easier then trying to watch my watch??
thanks and sorry if this is somewhere else already

I know I haven't posted any solo trip plans yet. My friend Liz and I (you all know Liz - liznboys) have talked about sharing a room if I end up going solo. She is planning on doing the half again this year and flying down for the weekend. Last we talked, she was thinking about staying at Pop and I would be perfectly happy sharing a room with her there. I have always wanted to visit the value resorts. The theming looks so cool. Not to mention it would be a huge money saver. :thumbsup2

I am 99.99% sure I will be staying at POP. I realized that I don't need to stay at POFQ, all I need is a simple room. Whether I'm at POFQ or POP, I'll have to use the Disney buses so that won't make a difference. If my thoughts ever change, you'll be the first one to know! :)

Do you use iTunes? If you do a search for Ullrey, you'll find some free podcasts. He uses generic music (don't even know what to call it) and tells you when to run/walk. It's very upbeat, but can get boring because the music isn't very exciting. ;)

His podcasts are also available here:

There is also another website that I was introduced to that does the same thing, but uses music you'd actually be familiar with. :thumbsup2 Some of it isn't for me, but I've been using it for week 5 and it's a lot of fun. PM me if you want the link because it has a bad word in it. :rolleyes1

It doesn't feel "bad" exactly, I just feel it, you know?

No, I didn't go. Jeff wanted to go and with the time K needed to be picked up from soccer only one of us could really go. He told me to take the night off since I had been 4 out of 5 days lol.

I still feel it though. It's a bit funny to me that it's only one side, not both. I thought I abused them equally but apparently not.

I find that I'm more sore on one side over the other even when I do things like lunges. Not sure if one side is weaker or I just overstretched on one side.

Well I am definitely more balanced on one side than the other. Which I imagine means it's stronger I just notice it in Yoga far more than say, in Zumba.

Of course I guess that's the point of doing the darn yoga...to fix that.

:rotfl:

And then her socks said, " I luv Pooh"! :lmao: That's rich!

Carissa- our daughter had a MAJOR issue too! It was close to a "clean out" also, but luckily the Miralax did the trick. She was on it for a LONG time, but it sure helped turn things around. Her screaming on the bowl was so, so hard to deal with!!! The stuff we Moms go through!! :sad2:

I finally achieved a "perfectly balanced" on the wii fit the other day when testing my balance. But, who knows how accurate it is. It's always telling me I have good posture, but I think mine is pretty bad. I'm always slumped over. :rotfl:

We think Connor had issues from birth and it was just a build up over time. He was a skinny kid with a very distended stomach and it finally took a family member to point it out. That was the start of us having it looked into and I'm so glad we did.

I love that RnRC pic. Too funny. After seeing that, I may have to skip trying it this summer :rotfl:

I kind of feel the same way about eating solo in WDW. I don't mind it at home, but in WDW I just don't know :confused3 Have you checked out any guidebooks for solo travelers?
