We start our wonderful vacation leaving Chicago on March 18th. Along with myself my DS (10) and DD (4) driving all the way for the first time.

On the way down we stopped at Ruby falls. It was really nice. I remember my dad took us there when I was a kid it's great to take my kids there too.

Monday night we made it to Pop it was so cool. I loved it. Kids wanted to swim at 10 at night but I was just too tired. We walked over got some donuts for breakfast the next day and went to our room and fell asleep.

Tuesday morning kids were up early and ready to go. We always go to the Magic Kingdom on our first day and we got there just before opening. It was cool. The kids needed haircuts for weeks but waited until we got to Disney so our very first stop was the barber shop for haircuts.

All day kids were getting stopped by guests asking where their hair was done.

We hit a few rides and finally went to Tom Sawyer Island (which even I have never been to before)

We decided to head over to EPCOT so hopped on the Monorail and we got to sit in the front (another first for us). Once in EPCOT we were hungry so we were going to eat around the world. Trying one thing in each country. We made it as far as Japan and we were full. Tired we decided to head back to our hotel. What a great first day.

Wednesday morning and I really needed to get a backpack. Well, those of you who shop on Disney know a backpack cost around $30 so I headed off-site to Target and found a good for $10. Along with the backpack I bought a new camera (since mine bit the dust) poncho's and other Disney like goodies so much cheaper here:)

I needed to rush back to our hotel since we were moving to the Boardwalk Villa's. Packed up the room and drove right over. Our room wasn't ready so we checked our bags in and walked around the Boardwalk. I have stayed at the Beach Club Villa's a few times but really never explored the Boardwalk. It is really cool. Lunch at ESPN Club which was very nice. After lunch a few pool games at the pool our room was finally ready. Yeah! After seeing our room (just out side of the pool) off to the member meet. It was nice DS won a 15 yr DVC pin which he is still very excited about. Finished the night out with a walk around EPCOT.

That's all for now I will update more tomorrow.

How was that drive, really?? We always fly (I work for an airline) but it is so hard to fly standby during Spring Break - we actually talked about driving next year. Just wondered how you felt about it..?? Also - where is Ruby Falls?

I was going to ask about Ruby Falls too - Sounds familiar, but what I was thinking about is probably in Tennessee or something like that.

Ruby Falls is on Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN

The drive was ok. I did it over a day and a half so it wasnt' so bad.

Thursday morning and Breakfast bright and early at Cape May at the Beach Club. Not one of my favorites but better then some. The kids loved Goofy, Minnie Chip and Dale. We were one of the first in so it was not very crowded.

After Breakfast it was off to
EPCOT. First stop Soarin. My DD has just reached 40 inches so it was great she got to ride several new rides. Soarin was awesome as always. The weather was great today high 70's perfect weather.

Next was Test Track then my DS rode Mission Space. We checked out the new Finding Nemo ride. It is great for the little one but I wish there was just a bit more to make it exciting. Back to our room for a nap.

In the evening we walked over to MGM. I usually take the boat over to MGM but decided on the walk. It was very nice. DS was looking for lizzards as always and we saw
very peaceful.

We grabbed a quick burger and went on Star Tours (another first for DD)
DS got to battle with a CM when we walk outside after the ride.

Checked out Muppet 3D and back to the hotel. Another great day. We didn't do much but hey we have almost 2 weeks just taking it slow.

more tomorrow:hippie:
