My DD (soon to be 5) loves My Little Pony. I know at Downtown Disney there is a store that will let us fill a box (a la Mr. Potato Head) for $18.

Her birthday will be before our trip in January, so I would like to get her the Pony at home and then do the box at Disney.

Does anyone know what size pony the items at Disney will fit? I have seen them in all sizes.

Thanks!

We just purchased both the ponies and box at WDW. The pony is approx 4 and 3/4 inches from foot to top of highest ear, and 2.5 inches from her behind to her chest and almost 4 inches from her behind to the ear that is furthest away from her behind.

Does that help? :teeth:

Thanks! It certainly does! Thank you so much for taking the time to measure it. I was originally planning to purchase the pony down there, but if I can have a relative buy her the pony for her birthday or the holidays it would be an extra treat.

You're welcome! And the same size of ponies are being sold at Costco, a set of 3 with various trinkets, for a good price.

Another note - there are different pony items at Downtown Disney and at Toontown. I got cute pink hats at Toontown, cute Minnie and Mickey ears at DD.

I'm sure he'll love it all - enjoy!

Do you need to buy the pony there, or could you just get the accersories and use any other my little pony? If that is the case maybe I will bring one with her and get some new toys for it. :goodvibes

You don't have to get the pony - you can just fill your box with accessories. I'm pretty new to this - went with DD who is only 2 1/2 just last week and she had so much fun with them that we filled a box. So now I'm looking for other MLP stuff for Christmas!

Ask the castmembers about the accessories - I didn't know what I was doing and they helped me out a lot!

You don't need to buy the pony (I did at the Toon store, but didn't at DD). I also grabbed a few Mr. Potato items that fit with the general theme (the box was also 18 dollars for Mr. Potato stuff, so I'm sure it's fine). And the blue elastic tulle bands at the Toon store are great - can be used for skirts, hair scrunchies, etc. You can smash a lot of them between other stuff - don't be stingy! Smash all you can! :rotfl:

We did this last Christmas and DD put one pony in the box and almost EVERY accessory. She did skip the bigger ones (the popcorn cart and I think a bed) because she just didn't want them. She mostly wanted the clothes. Even with 3 or 4 of everything and the pony, she still had tons of space left! DH added another pony for her (DUH--I didn't even think about putting 2 ponys in!) and we added extra stuff.

Really, most of the fun of My Little Pony is in having several so they can "play" together, and you can share with friends. Unless your dd really wants the big stuff she might enjoy having extra ponys in addition to all the stuff. Plus it is nice to remember "this is the pony I got at Disneyworld" !

This will be our 1st time going to Downtown Disney. Can you tell me what store has the My Little Ponies? Thanks.

So if I'm understanding this right...you get a box for a certain price and just smush as much as you can in the box???

My nieces both love My Little Pony stuff. BUT my 4 year old niece is a complete horse nut and will love this. This was her prayer at Thanksgiving this year: " Dear Lord thank you for everyone is this world, well except for icky strangers and most of all Thank you for horses!"

I can't wait to see them have fun and live out all "my little girl fun" through them since I have a little boy and ANOTHER boy on the way!

That is so a perfect prayer! DD was convinced DG (grandma) was buying her a horse on day. Dont ask anyone why we will never know, the closest she is getting is riding lessons at the moment. She is too young yet for a horse! But she loves her My Little Pony and we are taking her to get her box full! She is quite proud of the money she saved for WDW. Maybe I should say if she saves for a pony she can get one. But I am sure she would do it in 2-3 years. She is a change hound at our house. :rotfl2:
