Hi all - on Thursday, February 25th my 3 year old lost her beloved "Bet" --- her security blanket/lovey that has gone everywhere with us for 3 years :guilty:. She is still pretty heartbroken about it and it's been 2 weeks. Truth be told, we are sad too, "Bet" has been such a part of our lives for three years! Unfortunately she 'needed' it while out on rides etc due to being nervous.

We last saw her holding it at MK during spectro. Then it got dark and we took the monorail to epcot, walked through epcot back to boardwalk. It could have been lost at any of those places. I have called all of the appropriate numbers, filled out forms at boardwalk and central lost and found. They have basically told me after 2 weeks my file would be tossed. SO! I thought I would throw this out there. I have no idea why but if I didn't try everything I would be mad at myself.

It is a small, hand-crocheted, pink, purple and white blanket -- but now mostly greyish and dirty looking!! Very 'well loved' :)

Thanks for looking :)

:wizard: a little pixie dust and hoping for the safe return of lovey! I know my son would be devastated if he lost his "baby"!

Sorry i can't help you find it however i would be happy to crochet another one if you have a picture... I know it would not be the same but it might help...

If you email me a pic of her lovey I can take the pic to Lost and found and ask.

I can't help, but really hope you find the blanket. My son lost his attachment animal as a kid and it was a nightmare.

Can I ask why you call it a "lovey"? Someone else I know calls it that. I thought they made it up, but now realize that it must have come from somewhere.

Can't be Mrs. Howell, so what's the deal?

Dont lose hope, we had lost one of my sons fave shoes ( he fell asleep in the stroller and kicked it off) about a month later we recieved it in the mail.

I hope u get it back, i would not know what to do if ds lost his blanket!

Awwwww. I hope you have luck. My DD is almost 7 and still sleeps with her blankie and woo-woo (stuffed husky dog) every nite. Both are well traveled and have accompanied us EVERYWHERE we go (but always remain in the car or hotel). I know DD would be devestated if either were ever lost.

Heck, my brother is 32, married with kids and still sleeps with his "towel" (he graduated from blanket to huge beach towel once blanket pretty much disintegrated...yes, we give him grief and he does not care). :lmao:

I truly wish you the best of luck and it's really sweet that a fellow DISer is up for making you a replacement. Such good peeps out there :cloud9:

Aww . . . what a sweet thread! It's great seeing people trying to help each other. I hope you find either the blanket or a new lovey :goodvibes

Did you get it back yet?
We are going on the 11th and could also check for you.....a picture is needed though.

:wizard::wizard: Pixie dust to help you find the Lovey. My DS3 has a beloved lovey too and I shudder to think about what would happen if we lost it.

A dog tag with your address or cell # is a great thing to put on stuffed animals and any other lovely that DC can not live with out. It's a little tricky with a blanket, but totally worth figuring out a way to attach one.

Great tip! I'm going to be sure to do that for our trip in May. I don't know why I never thought of that.;)

I hope they are able to find the blanket.

Another tip that I read on here once. When in your hotel room, before leaving for the day, put any blanket or stuffed animal in a drawer or in your luggage. Do not leave it out on the bed. It can be picked up accidentally while the sheets are being changed.

I wish we could help! We'll keep our eyes open when we're there!

I know how tough this can be - my brother's favorite blanket was lost at the Poly in the early 80's. We still talk about how sad it was to have left it behind - although nearly 30 years later, we noted that it's in a happy place. :)

Im so sorry this happened. I know if it happened with us i would be doing the same thing. I would be very upset!
My little girl has been attached to her blankie since she was a baby (she is almost 6 and still uses it). I really have to watch when we take it on vacation and luckily enough have never lost it. I always made it a priority to make sure it is with us in the car whenever we leave anywhere. I wish you luck!

Good luck with this - I'll send positive thoughts your way since I've been in that position as a parent a couple of times!

My DS has a "lovey" a cat that my mom gave him when he was born. It has been everywhere! its so raggedy, but he MUST sleep with it. So to Disney it will go (in 7 days) and I am so worried that it will get lost. We have only had 1 scare at the Grocery Store, but found him right away. He knows that Kitty has to stay in the room and cant go to the parks! Those are great tips.. dog tags, and putting in in luggage whne we leave! Thanks

I hope you find her lovey! She (and you) must be so upset. I know we would be!

Ohh, I'm sorry. I hope someone turns it in and it gets back to your daughter.

I'm making my daughter leave her "baby" at home when we visit WDW in September. We have lost that doll almost 1/2 dozen times! She's been attached to it since it was given to her when she was 3 weeks old.

By the way, she's turning 11 soon! LOL - I'm kind of hoping our trip will "wean" her off it. I want to put Baby away somewhere safe before she completely falls apart soon.

Our dd (14 1/2) has a "lambie" that she received for her 2nd birthday. He lost an eye at DW (in our hotel). She doesn't take him anywhere, however, she does sleep with him tucked under her chin. He is so scraggily looking. We bought a second one and tried to convince her that it was lambie's twin sister. Didn't work. Lambie has one leg that is skinnier than the others from her holding him by the leg when she was little.

He just got back from DW with us yesterday.

Good luck - hope they find your dd's lovey!

This story makes my heart jump into my throat. I'm 34 years old and I
still remember the trauma of forgetting to bring Teddy, my teddy bear, for a weekend trip when I was 6 years old.

My daughter has Emily the Guinea Pig (we're actually not sure what kind of animal she's supposed to be; with many hundreds of dollars invested in stuffed animals, she imprinted on a $0.50 prize that I won for her from one of those claw machines) who has been at her side non-stop for two years and whenever we go out in public places I check for Emily almost as many times as I check for my daughter. The dog tag is a great idea for our upcoming trip! My daughter loves dressing her up, so that could be part of the costume.

Anyways, I wish you good luck in finding his lovey!
