I finally figured out how to get pictures to post in my posts, so thought I'd share our new kitchen with you. I forgot to pull out "before" pictures, but trust me, it was awful. The cabinets were robin's egg blue formica and the countertop was white formica. The floor was linoleum (not bad, since we installed it after we moved in 9 years ago and we had installed wall paper back then, too.)
Now, we have quarter-sawn oak cabinets. They are chestnut-colored on either side of the sink and they are hazelnut-colored everywhere else. The corner cabinets look lighter, just because of the soffit light. We installed an Astral Pearl Zodiac countertop and backsplash. I already had the stove, but we purchased the fridge, dishwasher, and the highlight of the kitchen... the Advantium oven that is above the stove. The sink is 10" deep on the right and 7.5" on the left, with an insinkerator on that side. There is Juno task lighting under the cabinets.
My DH was convinced that the paint color that I selected wasn't going to match the cabinets, so after I told the painter what I wanted, my DH called and told him to make it lighter. When the painter came to work, he winked at me and told me he'd lightened it up "real good." I finally told my DH a month ago that it was actually the color I wanted. He had gone on and on about how much he liked the color once it was up.
So, what do you think?
