grrrrrrrr Our trip is 8 days out and up until last night my 7 year old son has been insisting that he wanted nothing to do with the characters. That he didn't want to meet ANY of them. So I scheduled no character meals and planned no meet and greets. Last night my grandma asked him what he was most excited about for disney and he replies with "probably getting my picture taken with pluto and goofy and mickey!" WAIT, WHAT'S THAT NOW, KID??? I'm like ummm you said you didn't want to meet any characters! He's like, I don't, I just want my picture taken with them. THAT'S THE SAME THING!!!!!! UGHGHGHGHG
I've been trying chef mickey every couple hours since then for any openings and I also tried Cape May since it has pluto and goofy and I figured we could do a mickey meet at the park if we had to. Are there any other restaurants that feature pluto? Is there any advise trying to get a ressie this late??? ughghgh

(I POSTED THIS ON THE RESTAURANT BOARD BUT SINCE THIS IS THE BOARD I FREQUENT, THOUGHT I MIGHT TRY HERE TOO)!

Try to hit character meets in the parks if all he wants is the picture? That's all I get too & usually it's pretty quick.

I believe Pluto is at Epcot when they first open to the right side (I've gotten a quick pic with him there).

If you have a Chase Visa can you get one of their photos taken at Epcot? It's luck of the draw which characters are in there, but I've had those guys.

Those characters meet all over WDW - you won't have any trouble meeting them at one of the parks so I wouldn't stress over getting an ADR. If you have a Chase Disney Visa, 2 of them are always in there and the line is usually relatively short and the air condition is great.

I don't know about restaurants but we got our picture taken with Pluto in front of the castle right when near the MK entrance with a minimal wait in the morning. Also was able to meet Mickey, Goofy and Minnie a little after rope drop in Epcot with 0 wait- I stayed with the little kids while other adults rode soarin so it worked for us.

Yep, no need for a character meal.
In MK, talking Mickey meets at town hall, Goofy is at the Sideshow near the Dumbo ride, and Pluto meets I'm Town Square.

At the Character Spot in Epcot, you can meet Mickey, Minnie and Goofy all at the same time.

I would try to get into Garden Grill, we had luck even during our stay. Mickey, Pluto and Chip & Dale. No Goofy but it's something

OP, I have to laugh at this! I don't have any children, but I sympathize. But his distinction between meeting them and getting pictures with them is so funny. I just imagine him running up to photobomb them without stopping to say a word.

The Character Spot in Epcot never seems to have long waits. We met Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, and Minnie there on two separate occasions-- maybe Minnie was switched with Pluto one time. I can't recall for certain, but you get three good character pictures in that one location.

You can meet a lot of them in the parks with little to no wait with a little planning. I would also keep trying for an adr. We like Garden Grill at Epcot and it's usually a little easier to get a reservation for. Keep trying for Chef Mickey's and you might try Tusker House too. Good luck!

Another vote for Garden Grill! There's also Tusker House breakfast in Animal Kingdom

Pluto also meets by Spaceship Earth in Epcot- I met him there with a quick 10 minute wait.

I've heard that now that Mickey is out of the way at DHS, he rarely has a wait. You should be able to meet them all. Good luck!!

Go to Epcot and there is a meet and greet in innoventions. This is worth going to. If a character is not there ask a CM and they will let you know where a specific character is located that day. You don't have to book a character meal if you don't want to or they are all booked.

Pluto and Goofy meet together (or at least they still were a couple months ago) in Dinoland at Animal Kingdom. I usually have about a 10-20 minute wait even at lunch time. Mickey, as others have said, is easier at opening at MK or at DHS. Good luck and have a great vacation!

We are likely cancelling chef mickeys for a party of 9 for Tuesday. I can arrange to tell you when as I cancel it to make it work so you can hopefully get it....or are you not there yet?

I love this story, thanks for the laugh! But I wouldn't stress too much, as other folks said, those characters are pretty easy to meet in the parks.

We have actually never done character meals, although we are doing 3 this upcoming trip, go figure.

So last trip in January 2014 my kids (then 17, 16, 14, 12, & 11) insisted they didn't want to meet any characters, they were just far too old for that. So I didn't plan it at all. When lo and behold first day there in AK they see Dug and Russell and suddenly they wanted a picture, well halfway through the line they decided they want an autograph too, so the CM let me run out of line to go get an autograph book. We filled up that entire book that trip. No biggie, plans change and that's fine because my Disney trips are all about what my kids want. We may have plans for certain days but in the end if my kids want to say screw the plans then that's exactly what we do.

Have a great trip!

Not sure if this was mentioned already but Mickey and Pluto are both at Ohana's at the Poly for breakfast, along with Lilo and Stitch.
