My (just about) finished scrap room

That's awesome :woohoo: Sorry to be so late on the "congrats" of making your space your own, but for some reason I cannot see pictures in posts on my work computer, so I had to wait and log in at home. It's lovely - great job!! I love IKEA - 85% of my craft room is IKEA :thumbsup2

AWESOME!!!

I have a question -- it's something I'm trying to deal with in my scraproom.

You said you needed one big table top to replace the two smaller.

How are you getting the one big tabletop? what's it made out of and where on earth did you get it?

Thanks!

the table top was purchased separately at Ikea. It's like an island counter top.
It's made of wood, and just screws to the undercabinet.

I have to take the kids to school but I'll take a picture of it when I get back.

here is a link to the top with the dimensions.

Great new space!!

I am so glad you posted pictures! I have started planning our craft/scrapbooking room in our new house and bought pieces from JCPenney but not sure they are going to work for scrapbooking stuff. Will go check the Ikea website!

Enjoy creating in your new space!

we are no where near an Ikea. I think the closest one is 8-10 hours away. Wonder what shipping costs..........

I got my stuff from the Container Store, they ship too!
desks and table tops with wire mesh baskets with metal racks, can get lots of different sizes, easy to put together too, did it myself!!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 <- This is me green with envy! ;)

WOW! It looks fantastic!

Would you mind posting a picture after you paint the inside of your corner cabinets red? I have 2 corner cabinets that look almost exactly like yours (3 shelves instead of 4) and I've been debating whether to paint the inside red or get a red and cream scrolly type wallpaper to put inside. I'd love to see how yours turned out.

solid tabletop.

Grumpy's Gal, I know Ikea ships most of their stuff. I would just check the website and start the process of placing an order to see the shipping costs.

I will post when I get it done. I'm not sure when that will be though.

I'm struggling finding the right color red. I bought one, tested it and it was way to pink. But if I find the right color I'll let you know.

The wallpaper idea sounds good too. At least you would know exactly what color you would get.

I used my room last night!! DH updated the firmware on my cricuts and I worked on the kids Disney ABC albums. I go the photos in 2 albums. I forced myself to clear off the counter after instead of leaving the tools out even though I knew I was going back in today. Gotta get into the new habit.

I need to have DH help me pull the marble top table out today and put it in storage. that's the last piece that needs to come out. :woohoo:

Thank you for posting that. It's just perfect! You know, we all want to come and visit you now and bring our scrapbooking toys!

Here is another set up I am currently drooling over. I am very interested in this pull out work top for smaller projects. Man, I am going to have to stash away some money before I start something like this. http://www.californiaclosets.com/craft click on Jansen craft room and go to picture #2

Oh I love that!!!! I really like the rail system.

My problem was working with the lack of wall space. We have a super small house (1100 sq ft) but tons of windows and doors. It was quite the challenge to find stuff that would fit into those spaces.

I really like the look with the one solid surface top.

I'm off to Ikea tonight to pick another bookcase and then will go again next week, hopefully, to pick up the rest of the stuff.

OMG THANK YOU for the California Closet link. :worship:
I've been going crazy looking at Ikea's catalog & website trying to come up with upper cabinets & other closed storage that I like or fills my needs on a rail system and just wasn't finding it.

Love the look of the link. I'm going to check it out for sure. I'm only doing 1 wall in our guest room and would like it to be portable since we might need to move in a couple of years.
