Please check our trip plan...I think that I have picked the right days to visit DL and DCA but I can make changes. Please let me know what you think. :) We have 4 day park hopper tickets.

7/15 - Arrive

7/16 - Hollywood

7/17 - DL

7/18 - DCA

7/19 - Griffith Park - Le Brea

7/20 - DL

7/21 - DCA

7/22 - We leave late (7:00pm) so we are going to visit the USS Iowa and Laguna Beach before we go.

What's your plan in Hollywood? If you're planning to take a studio tour, see a movie at the theater, visit the museum, and walk the whole block then it might take you all day. Otherwise it might be a half day visit and you could do the Griffith in the afternoon/evening or go to a beach like the Santa monica pier.

Aliso beach in laguna is nice with kids. You can walk the rocks and there is a river that flows into the ocean. Cool for kids to see that. There is a restroom, playground (small) and parking lot right at the sand. There is a great hole in the wall taco place on the main road, wish I could remember the name. There is outside seating.

This is our fourth trip to California in four years. Each year we go to Hollywood and visit the Disney Studio Store. We went last year in August, this will be the first time we see it as the Ghiradelli Soda Fountain shop. We haven't seen Madame Tussards or The Hollywood Museum so we are doing that this trip. If we have enough time that day we might stop in Santa Monica. We love the Santa Monica Pier. I hope to visit the ocean as much as possible. I love the ocean! I do hate the traffic. Driving from Hollywood back to Anaheim is not fun no matter what time a day. Thank you for your suggestions!

Good Morning

Bob here, I see your family and mine are going to Hollywood on the same day and visiting the parks on the 17th & 18th.

Maybe you can give us some Hollywood pointers. Don't know if I have already P.M. my cell # to you but I will again..

My we could meet up to say hello...

Thanks

Bob

Hi Bob,

The times we've gone to Hollywood we have taken tours of the Dolby Theater and Grauman's Chinese Theater. They great! We loved those tours.

We've eaten lunch at the Disney Studio Store which is now Ghirardelli. They only sever sweets no more diner food. We've also eaten at the Mel's Diner which is just up from Hollywood High School.

Just walk up and down the Walk of Fame. It's so much fun! All of the Disney stars are in front of the El Capitan and Ghirardelli. If you have time see a movie at the El Capitan, I hear it's really neat!

If you need to use the restroom the Roosevelt Hotel has the nicest ones around there. Just walking around the Roosevelt is a treat too. Lots of history. It's where they held the first Academy Awards!

Hope this helps and I hope you have a wonderful trip!!!

Some thoughts you may or may not have considered. July 17 is DL's anniversary and folks do show up especially for that. All else being equal I would not go to the DL park that day and skip DLR altogether.

Thursday, July 17 - EMH/MM at DL
Friday, July 18 and Monday, July 21 - EMH/MM at DCA

If you have EMH privileges then you want to visit the EMH park. If not, it is usually best to go to the opposite park.

If you only have one MM day at DL then I think July 17 is the day to use it - your first day.

Thank you! One reason why we chose the 17th was because it was the anniversary. I just called and they still have openings to do Walk In Walt's Footsteps at 2:30 that day so, I think we are going to do that. We do only have one MM and did plan on using it that day. I expect it to be pretty busy that day, we will just have to deal with it. We went to DCA the week after Carsland opened. That was crazy!

Thank so much for your suggestions, I do appreciate it! You have helped me plan several trips over the years and you have been spot on with your advice. Thank you!!!!
