My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

Speaking of school, DD10 started 6th grade at the elementary school. DD12 starts 7th grade at the middle school next Monday. DD3 starts preschool two days a week after Labor day. Swimming is back three afternoons a week, and DD10 starts soccer practice this week. It is becoming quite clear to me that I will be spending a huge chunk of my day dropping off and picking up children from their various places. I want a "Transporter" like they had on the old StarTrek. "Beam me up, Scottie!"

Anna
LOL I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND!!! :rotfl: You will survive, it does get better. My older two have been a great help, now that they're driving, and can do some of the shuttling!! DS 13 would never get to soccer practice if it weren't for her brother being nice enough to take her every week while I'm at work!

Congrats to your DD, that's exciting!

WISH - We're inspired, by each other, and we all know what the discouragement is like. We've all been there, we all get those periods where we eat bad, feel upset about it, and WHINE. So go ahead, that's what friends are for. And we're also here to cheer you on, and to congratulate you on the good times too. :grouphug:

Keep on going, you can do it. :thumbsup2

:grouphug: Lots of hugs comin' your way!

You know, we've all been there with respect to the "blah's". But here's a positive perspective. Anytime I used to feel that way during my healthy lifestyles, I usually threw in the towel and ate whatever I wanted, didn't exercise, and basically made myself feel worse. It turned into a nasty cycle.

However, you don't seem to be doing that. You're continuing to journal. That desire is still there. We're here to help you focus on that desire. Don't beat yourself up right now as you do have a lot on your plate. Just think about what you really want and what you need to do to get there. We're all here for you!!! :goodvibes

Once again all of your support and faith in me is invaluable. Thank so much. I truly do appreciate it. :grouphug: . I have spent some time reading journals, etc and feel much more motivated and inspired. I am still not back on track, but at least feel like I can get there again. With that in mind, I have set some new goals for myself:

1. I have until the end of August to get all the pieces (water, eating, exercise) together again. If I haven't done it by then, drastic measures will have to be implimented - Detox to get me going again.
2. I will join the September Exercise Challenge for 1200 minutes. This will not allow for any slacking off. I will have to exercise for at least an hour 5X/week in order to accomplish this.
3. Taking a page from Amy, I want to have lost 43 lbs by the time I turn 43 (3/1). That means I have about 28 weeks to lose an additional 28 lbs. Again, this is an aggressive goal, especially given my past track record and the holidays, but hopefully this will keep me from going completely off the deep end and gaining all my weight back.
4. Start putting my food back on fitday, until I get better control. I thought I had done reasonably well today until I figured out I was still over 2000 calories. I need to reset what is ok/not ok to eat again. (Darn Moose Munch!)

So what do you think? Are my goals too aggressive or is this what I need to get going again?

Friday: I felt like I started to get back in control eating wise and drank 80oz water. I did have Moose Munch and chocolate milk, but it was planned. Unfortunately, I didn't put everything into fitday until the next day - approx 2600 calories - Yikes!

b-peach, 1/2 grapefruit, hot chocolate
s- 8oz FF yogurt
l- 1/3c chicken salad, 6 triscuits, grape tomatoes, asparagus
s- 1.2oz almonds, 16oz chocolate milk
d-grilled LF hot dog w/ bun, saurkraut, and fixin's; grape tomatoes, red pepper strips, 12 tater tots, 12oz skim milk
s- approx 3c Moose Munch

Saturday: Pretty good again today with only one "unplanned" Moose Munch binge :rolleyes1 , but still over 2000 calories. I need to enter my food into Fitday BEFORE I eat, not after the fact. . Drank 80oz water.

b-3 pancakes, 1/4c blueberries, 2T maple syrup, 1 egg, 12oz skim milk
l-turkey sandwich on sourdough, grape tomatoes, apple, 2/3serving pita chips
s- +2c Moose Munch
d- 7&7, grilled chicken, broccoli, 2/3c rice pilaf, 12oz skim milk

Anna

(For those that don't know, Moose Munch is this heavenly sugar coated popcorn/nut/chocolate concoction from Harry & David's. Very good, but addictive and very calorific apparently!)

I don't think you're goals are too aggressive at all!! Actually, you've inspired me to get my butt back on track! My b-day is 3/8, and I'd like to lose about 20-25 by then.
I'm gonna have to start tracking my stuff ALOT better than what I am....

KEEP AWAY FROM THE MOOSE MUNCH!!!

Hi Anna,

I think your goals sound great! I know that you CAN accomplish every single one of them! :cheer2: You CAN do this! :goodvibes

I hope you have a wonderful week! :sunny:

Those are very do-able goals! Having goals is so motivating isn't it? Best of luck to you. I'm excited to see you reach your goals!!!

I had a good day today and it felt good. Still no exercise, but water and food seem to finally be in better control. DD12 did not have any special requests for her "Last Supper", but she did want to spend the day at the beach. We had all had a great time and then came home for an early supper and getting ready for her first day of Middle School. She was pretty nervous last night, but seemed ok this morning before DH took her to school.

Food:
b - 2 poached eggs, 2 slices canadian bacon, 1/2 english muffin (eggs benedict sans sauce!), 1/2 grapefruit, 12 oz skim milk
s - granola bar, 1c blueberries (at the beach)
l- skipped, didn't want beach snack bar food
s - 2.5T hummus w/ red pepper strips & baby carrots & 1 small triangle of pita bread
d- 1c Homemade Chicken fried rice, asparagus, 3C salad w/ Cilantro dressing
s - 1 Mango Mochi (small ice cream ball w/ pastry from TJ's)
Resisted: another Mochi, Harry & David's chocolate blueberries & chocolate bar (DH's dessert!)
Totals: Cal:1287, Fat: 39g, Carbs: 172g, Fiber: 20g, Protein: 76g
6 f/v

Water: 98 oz

Exercise: still none

Tracy, CJK: thanks for your encouragement. I definitely feel better with some set goals in place. Hopefully, it will help me stay focused and on track.

Marie: Yea! You can have a birthday challenge too! :cheer2: Tracking my food really does help me realize where things get out of hand. Can you get onto fitday at work or is that blocked too? The moose munch is really good, but I have no self control with it  . We have a couple more small bags. I need to make sure they get opened up when everyone is here and eating it. I am ok as long as the bag is sealed, but leave me alone with an open bag in the pantry and it's all over. :rolleyes1

I love your goals and I think they are perfectly doable! You are already doing better with your food and water, exercise will come along soon.

I have some advice that you are not going to like - get rid of the Moose Munch. Have DH take it to work or give it to some friends or neighbors. It is not worth having the temptation in the house, especially if you know it is a trigger food. Your Moose Munch = my trail mix = pure evil!

Keep it up, you are on your way to getting both feet back on the wagon! :thumbsup2

Great job on reigning in the food intake. I know thats been my big problem. How'd the first day of school go? Way to go with setting new goals. :woohoo:

I can feel it! You're getting back on track and will be exercising in no time! Hope the first day of school went well. :goodvibes

Hey Anna, I can feel it too, you are back on track! And I am glad you too are doing a birthday goal. Hey, you're older than me so you have to lose one more pound! Given my current eating I am going to have to book it to get there by December. This will be fun to get older and skinnier together!

Dropping in to say HI!
You really are doing so well. I love your goals. Especially loosing 28LBS in 28 weeks as a birthday goal. You can do that! You have inspired me to set a birthday goal too.

Two reasonable days in a row - Yea! I still have some "scheduling kinks" in order to get some exercise worked in and all that other stuff I am supposed to be doing like grocery shopping, laundry, day to day stuff that keeps our lives going. I don't have enough time between the different school schedules to walk either to or from school anymore. During swim practice will be an option for now until the days get too short and it is dark (I hate Fall!) Of course, I used that time yesterday to get DD12 more school supplies and run to the grocery store. :moped: I told DH I want a taxi meter in my car...

Food:
8:15a - 1/2 grapefruit, 1c frosted shredded wheat, 12 oz skim milk
12:30p - 1/4 chicken salad, 7 triscuits, LF Babybel cheese, apple
2:45p - granola bar, 1 pc beef jerky
6:30p - grilled chicken & beef kabob's, 1/2c rice pilaf, 1c green beans, 3c salad w/ red pepper, cucumber, feta & Cilantro dressing, 12oz skim milk

Water: 88 oz

Exercise - still none, but trying to figure out where it fits in...

Amy: you are right. The Moose Munch has got to go. DH can just have a handful and then PUT IT BACK in the pantry! Not me :sad2: I'll put it in the kids lunches tomorrow morning and send the rest to work with DH.

Jane, CJK: first day of middle school went great. She llkes all her teachers. She knows at least a couple of kids in each class. Her closest friend is in her science class. She was a little disappointed that she got drama (her third choice) as her elective, but I think it will actually turn out to be fun for my shy girl. She was very excited that they didn't have to eat at the lunch tables. Her group of friends met together and ate lunch under a big tree - very exciting apparently. :rotfl2: Lunch today should be interesting - her lunch bag is currently sitting on the kitchen counter ....

Amy: It will be fun to get older and skinnier together :cheer2: . It is going to be tough, but I figure it will be good incentive to get through the holidays too without so much damage.

Deelam: Yea! Set a birthday goal. We can all get older and skinnier together!

Tracy & everyone: once again thanks for your support and encouragement. I am really feeling like I am pulling out of the blah's. I've still got to get some things worked out, but I feel like it will eventually all come together. :grouphug:

Hi, Anna!!

Sounds like things are beginning to fall into the 'fall' routine! It's not easy!

I agree with you about the taxi meter .....we'd be RICH!!

Have a great rest of the week!!

You're getting back on track!!! Sounds like you oughta get paid for all your chauffeuring!! ;) Once you figure out your schedule, you'll be back on the exercise bandwagon. Have a great week!

Did you say something about Moose Mrunch? OMG I hate that evil stuff. I hate Harry and David because of all their evil stuff that gets delivered to me several times a year by well meaning friends and family! Okay, sidenote and rant over!

Two good days in a row is wonderful. Sounds like you are squarely back on track. I'm with you on fall, those shorter days make exercise that much harder to get in. We moms spend so much time driving, we don't have time to walk! Keep up your good work!

I forsee a BIRTHDAY CHALLENGE in the works.....anyone else??
(of course, I'm not going to be in charge of it....but it sounds like fun!!)

I'm going to check out Fitday today....i've GOT to do something!!

have a good day Anna, keep the meter running!!

marie

Woohoo for Two! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Great job, Anna! :cheer2: You have been back OP for two days and I know you will keep up the good work! :Pinkbounc The exercise will come.

I think that's a great idea to put a taxi meter in your car. :teeth: Hmmmm......:scratchin sounds like a great way to make more Disney money to me! :thumbsup2

Hope you have a great day! :sunny:

Warning - Female Rant -- TOM showed up unexpectedly this afternoon. Aging stinks! TOM keeps showing up earlier and earlier - 24 days this time. And each time with more and more baggage! I'm done with the need for TOM anymore so, just go away! -- OK, Rant over.

Other than two chocolate lapses earlier in the day (whose explaination became apparent later!), today was another good one. The kids swim team decided to run to the beach and do an ocean swim for practice. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for me to get in a good beach walk. Unfortunately TOM's arrival nixed those plans  By the time I got down on the beach, the kids were tiny dots on the water. They swam a quarter mile out and touched the buoy and swam back. I'm not sure what I thought "ocean swim" meant, but that wasn't it. :fish: They had a blast though.

Food:
8:15a - 1/2 grapefruit, chocolate croissant, 12oz skim milk
12:00p - 3 cups lettuce w/ 1/2c each of red pepper, cucumber, chicken, 1T feta & 2T cilantro dressing
2:30p - Chocolate chip cookie
6p - 1/2 grapefruit
6:45p - grilled chicken breast, 1/2c brown rice, asparagus, 12oz skim milk
Totals: Cal: 1334, fat: 40g, Carbs: 140g, Fiber: 11g, Protein: 108g
5 f/v

Water: 100 oz

Exercise: best of intentions, but didn't happen ...

Just looked at the time, I need to get the kids going ...

Later, and thanks everyone for all your help getting me back on track.

Anna
