My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

can i have a brownie??
wish my kids would cook...heck, i wish my kids would pick up after themselves too...yeah, right!!

you are doin' great...keep up the "fun" exercise w/ the kids!!

My DS10 went through the cooking phase too. It lasted about 2 weeks then turned off just like that. I think he is still interested, he is just more interested in playing with his friends...

Wow, I'm impressed with your 2" brownie. When I eat brownies, the measurements are in pans, not inches!

You are doing awesome with all your exercising! :cheer2: And your food looks great too, even with the brownie. Keep it up!

Hi Anna,

Keep up the good work you're doing! For me, getting those fruits and veggies is very important. Hope that works out for you!

Kids and cooking is a good thing. My DD (13) has been making dinner on the days I go into the office. Sometimes it's frozen pizza, or spaghetti, or putting things in the crock pot that I get ready ahead of time, but she enjoys it and it helps me out a lot. :sunny:

Hi Anna, hey we made brownies this weekend too! I have about six of them left, I want to throw them out but the kids get sick of me tossing (or eating) their treats! Sounds like you had a good weekend, that is great how you practiced good food policing with that eggs benedict. You are doing so well! I am laughing about you wearing sweats on your walk/swim practice thing the other day! I'll bet you lost a couple pounds sweating half to death in those! Here's to a great "next" week! :thumbsup2

You're living with a bunch of food gourmets!!! Eggs bene and homemade brownies on the same day! I'd be in heaven.

Hmm, do you think your kids would mind cooking for me one day? :p

Great job!

In(out)-laws came over today for DSIL's birthday. Eating was bad, but not as bad as it could have been, I suppose. At least 1/3 of my fat grams came from "good" fat sources (avocado & almonds). Almost a 1/3 of my calories came from margarita's but trust me, those were REQUIRED for me to get through the afternoon :rotfl2: ! Back on track today though :cool1: .

Food:
9:00a - 3 pancakes w/ 2T maple syrup, 1/4c blueberries
12:00p - apple (right before in-;aws showed up)
1:30-6:30p - guacamole & chips, 6 almonds, 1 carne asada burrito w/ tomatoes, avacado, onions, little bit of cheese; 1/2c refried beans, small scoop ice cream, 3 bites of cake, 3.5 margarita's
Totals: Cal: 2180, Fat: 76g, Carbs: 230g, Fiber: 20g, Protein: 46g
4 f/v

Water: 120 oz (made sure to drink at least 16oz water between each margarita :rotfl2: )

Exercise: 10 minutes total of treading water/ sidestroke - we spent more than half the afternoon in the pool.

CJK - generally the kids are pretty good and now that they are older they can do most stuff themselves in the kitchen w/ only a little oversight from me.

Marie - cook - yes, pick up after themselves - not a chance :rotfl2:

Amy - DD laughed at me, but I actually pulled out a ruler and measured my brownie :rotfl2: . Fitday had 2" as a serving size so that is what I used. 2" is pretty dang small, by the way :sad2: . Withiout the ruler, I would have guessed 2" is to be bigger. At least, I got to have some though.

Kate: on saturday it definitely helped to fill up w/ fruits & veggies instead of other stuff. I think eating an apple right before everyone arrived on sunday helped keep the guacamole consumption down too. That is great that your DD cooks on a regular basis. Hopefully mine will too someday.

Amy: I don't like to wear shorts around the club pool since my legs don't look anything like the various swim coaches legs , but after the sweatfest, I got over it pretty quickly :rotfl2: .

Jane: Dh generally cooks on the weekends and he is really pretty good. Ony issue is the boy wouldn't eat anything green if he had a choice. He is trying though to plan in more fruits and veggies for me (and all of us really.) the brownies were good, and thankfully all gone.

3.5 margarita's

And just WHERE did the other .5 margarita go? I think that is alcohol abuse! Poor .5 margarita, left alone in its glass while its other half is having a party in your stomach... :sad2:

You exercised great control in a potentially damaging food situation, way to go! :cheer2:

The meals your kids cooked sound yummy - especially the brownies! They just dont taste the same here in the UK!!
I dont like green food much either!!!

Good day today. WI was 168.5 - the .5 of "houseguest" gain + another 1 lb gone! Hopefully, I have kissed the 170's goodbye forever!

DD3 started swim lessons today right after the older two's swim practice so we will be at the pool from 7:45 - 10:15 everyday for the next two weeks. Planning on walking everyday. :cool1: Otherwise, not a lot going on ... nice and relaxing...

Food:
7a - Blueberry Crumble toast(2), 6 oz skim milk
11a - apple, string cheese
1:00p - 1/2ear grilled corn, 2 small corn tortillas w/ beans, cheese, tomatoes, onion, avacado
4p - 1/2c blueberries, small mango tofutti thing (from TJ's)
7:30p - 1/2 ham sandwich on wholewheat, sliced tomato w/ garlic & 1/4 serving fresh mozzarella, 12oz skim milk
Totals: Cal: 1177, Fat: 34g, Carbs: 166g, Fiber: 23g, Protein: 60g
5 f/v

Water: 100oz - barely. Just realized I was 3 oz short and am drinking the last glass now ...

Exercise: 60 minute walk on the monster hills w/ jogger stroller. To give you and idea of how steep some of the hills are, I had the handbrake on full and the stroller was still moving downhill  Then I have to come back UP the same hill.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That's all that was left in the pitcher. (Until DH made another pitcher of course!) Trust me, if there had been more in the pitcher, there would have been more in me.

Tracey, that would be tough to not have good brownies. When I have been to the UK I love the shortbread cookies :) . Those don't taste the same in the US.

Hi Anna,

Wow, way to go leaving another "decade" on the scales behind you! That is great, I am really happy for you (and oh so envious you skinny babe)! Your food sounds good, great job with the exercising too. Man, those are some hills you walk up and down!

Congrats on the loss!!!! :cool1:  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :yay: :thumbsup2 I think with all your hill walking you won't be seeing the 170's ever again. Just think of how awesome you are going to look for your cruise next year! :goodvibes

Your food looks great yesterday, I see you got the fat grams back to where you wanted, good job!

OK, you are forgiven for the 1/2 margarita. I thought for a minute that you'd abandoned one! :scared: :crazy2: :faint: I feel better now...

Congrats on the loss!! Sounds like the stroller workout is a good one to keep doing often! :sunny:

Congratulations on the loss :)
Keep up the good work!!
Perhaps its the margaritas!!!

Way to go with hitting under 170!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: I think I need a milestone too! They sure do keep you on track.

Congratulations Anna on being under 170! :Pinkbounc That is great! Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

Thank you for your support and encouragement. :goodvibes I appreciate you! :grouphug:

Have a great Thursday! :sunny:

Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. DH has been out of town. By the time the kids are all in bed, swim bags (x3), etc all packed for the next morning, I am pooped and just ready to veg/fall asleep watching TV. I have been staying OP though, for the most part. Tuesday started and ended badly (pound cake for breakfast, pound cake for dessert  ), but was ok for everything in between. Wednesday was great. I was actually low on calories so I had a LARGE glass of my beloved milk with ovaltine - what a wonderful treat!

Tuesday: 100 oz water, 55 minute monster hill walk w/ jogger stroller
Food:
b- slice pound cake, 1/3c blueberries, 8 oz skim milk
l- small corn tortilla's w/ beans, 1T cheese, 1/8c tomato, 1T avocado, onions (2)
s - 6oz FF vanilla yogurt, apple
d - 1c carbonara pasta, 1c broccoli, 1/2c chopped tomato w/ fresh mozzarella & garlic, 1 glass wine
s - slice pound cake, 14 oz skim milk :sad2:
Totals: Cal: 1875, Fat: 58g, Carbs, 255g, Fiber: 20g, Protein: 73g
(This was supposed to be about 1300 calories and 34g of Fat, if I had stuck to my plan and not had the dumb pound cake!)

Wednesday: 85 oz water, 60 minute monster hill walk w/ jogger stroller
Food:
6:45a - 1c GoLean cereal, 1/2c blueberries 12 oz skim milk

6:45p - 1c cherries
7:45p - 16 oz skim milk w/ ovaltine
Totals: Cal: 1293, Fat: 28g, Carbs: 196g, Fiber: 25g, Protein: 78g
