My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

Oh thanks, you would have to mention that the holidays are coming up. It's the best AND worst time of year... :confused3

Great job with all your walking! :cheer2: I'm sure you will be able to find some other walking routine with the swim practice.

I wish i lived near the beach, i love the ocean :) You are very lucky!
The zoo trip sounds lots of fun :) Glad you had a good (if tiring) time!!!

The only thing is I have to remember to check the tide calendar! Where I walk it is beach and big bluffs. Apparently at high tide, there is little to NO beach left. In a couple of places on the way back I had to time the waves in order to get past the bluff and it was still three hours before high tide .... :hourglass While the older DD's were doing another ocean swim I managed to get in another 20 minute beach walk with the jogger stroller.

Today, DD3 and I went to the SD zoo for 4 hours. She has a book she loves about zoo animals going home on a "magic train." It was fun, but I did spend a lot of time going back and forth across the zoo. I think I went up and down bear canyon 4 times. :crazy: It was a really good workout and I think the backs of my legs will be sore in the morning. I am counting 140 minutes of power walking in our 4 hour zoo adventure!

Wow, you are getting in amazing workouts. :banana: The beach workout sounds a little dangerous, especially the part about "timing the waves in order to get past the bluff". Your trip to the zoo sounds like fun and a great workout! That weight is going to come melting off.

If you go to Vegas let me know how you like the Beatles' Cirque. I hope you get to go! I've heard great things about Mystere. Maybe its a good thing we saw O instead, but I will say I never order tix for the late show for the reason you stated. For us, a 9pm show would actually be at midnight or 11pm our time and I don't want to chance falling asleep. Thank God for early shows.

Your beach sounds so wonderful!! I just have sand - no water - boo hoo!!!

My nieces & their hubbies & friends who live near WDW like "Howl at the Moon" even better then Jelly Rolls. I know nothing about it, but they say they're similar. Your trip sounds wonderful! Bet you can't wait!!

Wow....I just got caught up...the last 3 pages!!
Sorry, been caught up in my own little world for a few days.
The cruise & vacation sound wonderful!! I'm jealous!!
WOW about the zoo and all the walking....that sounded like alot of fun too!!
Also, I would love to go walking on the beach!! I'm sure the waves crashing and just the general view is beautiful and calming!! Please, check the tide calendar....we'd hate it if you got stuck on a bluff somewhere...or worse...swept out to sea!!! :sad2:

I've only been to WDW once, so I'm not gonna be much help on the ressies. We at at Prime Time Cafe, Cinderella's Castle, and a few others that I don't remember....I'd stick to the knowledgeable ones!!

Have a great day!!
marie

You are doing a great job with your exercise, Anna! :yay: You go girl!!! :cheer2: I wish we lived near the beach.... All we have is Lake Erie.... ;)

Hope you have a great Friday! :sunny:

Hi Anna, hope things are going well and that you have a good weekend planned! You are probably walking on the beach right now you rat! Meanwhie here I sit, landlocked in Colorado! Keep up your good work you can do it!

DH worked from home today because he had a dinner meeting in LA. Not that helpful with the kids, but kept getting in the way of my routine. :crazy: (sorry, done venting now...)

I didn't have any good blocks of time today. I took DD12 to school at 7:15, then we sat outside DD10's school for 10-15 minutes until 7:50. DD3 & I went home and get her dressed (she's still in her PJ's) and left for her school at 8:40. Got home at 9:15 then back to DD10's school at 9:50 to volunteer in the Media Center for an hour (clearly had a complete sanity lapse when I signed up for this :crazy: ). Then off to park at DD12's school and got a 40 minute walk in :cool1: . Picked DD12 up at 11:55 and parked at DD3's school for 10 minutes until we picked her up at 12:30. Home by 12:45 for lunch. Put DD3 down for a nap at 1:30-1:45. Picked DD10 up at 2:20. We're home again by 2:40 and everyone got started on homework by 3. DD3 was up from her nap at 3:30. 4:15 everyone had a snack and got ready to go to swim practice. Left the house again at 4:35 dropped kids off at 5 and then went back home to get DD12's ISPE log sheet (that she forgot) for the coach to sign. This has be turned in every two weeks. Left the pool at 6:20, picked up KFC for dinner. Quick dinner, showers for everyone. Bedtime routine for DD3 was 7:45 - 8:15, Then tucked DD10 in at 8:30. DD12 apparently had spent quite a bit of time reading instead of doing her homework, so she didn't finish her homework until nearly 10. DH got home about the same time. (sorry, now I'm really done venting/whining ...)

Food:
b-1c Cheerios, 1/3c dried cherries, 12oz skim milk
l-chicken salad sandwich on whole wheat, 3/4 pear
s- 1 egg white, 1 devilled egg, 6oz pineapple juice
d - Planned on having a big salad with some diced chicken, Actually had 5 boneless BBQ wings, Biscuit, 12oz skim milk :sad2:

Amy - I wish I was walking on the beach! I'm stress eating yogurt pretzels and getting stuff ready for DD10's birthday tomorrow!

Tracy - Thanks. The beach walks are really great.

Marie - Great to see you again! Your world has been pretty topsy turvy right now. You are right about the beach walks being calming. It helps me sort through stuff in my brain or just forget about all the crazy stuff in my brain (even better!) I did call DH on my cell and told him to send out the Lifeguards between Beach A & B if I turned up missing :rotfl2: . I will be more careful now to time my walks though. I really don't want to have to swim!

Julie - thanks for the tip about Howl at the Moon. I've added it to my list.

Jane - Thanks Jane. I hope it works out to see the Beatles Cirque show. We'll see.

Tracey - thanks. I was not thrilled when DH wanted to move to SoCal, but now I couldn't dream of moving away from the beach. I love it.

Amy - The holidays are definitely a problem area for me. Christmas is my most favorite holiday of all and I just get out of control eating. I am going to need every kind of motivation I can find to get through them :crazy:

Don't worry, we all suffer through the holidays together! My season of unreason starts with the fundraiser cookie dough delivery in mid-Oct. It's all downhill from there...

Yep, I've had some of those days where it seems like all you are doing is driving someone somewhere, making meals, cleaning up, getting kids either ready for school or ready for bed. Then it is 9:30pm and you are wondering what the heck happened! Enjoy it now because soon your DD's will be driving on their own and you just won't know what to do with yourself!

Great job getting your walk squeezed into your hectic schedule! :cheer2:

I'm another one who is envious of your beach walks!!!

Good luck with working in exercise with the hectic schedule of a mom. Some days are definitely better than others, aren't they?

We also enjoyed LaNouba, and recently DH and DD went to Quidam, which is traveling, stopped here in Cincinnati. DD wanted tix for an early birthday present. They enjoyed it a lot, though DH said it was a lot different than LaNouba.

Have a good weekend! :sunny:

Today (Saturday) is DD#2's birthday #11 :banana: so this is just a quick note. Yesterday was not a great food day, but at least I did get a walk in.

Food:
8:15a - 1c frosted shredded wheat, 12oz skim milk
10a - +1/2 bag of yogurt pretzels - major stress eating :sad2:
2p - 1/4c chicken salad, 10 wheat thins, 12oz skim milk, another handful of yogurt pretzels
6p - the last of the yogurt pretzels, 5 potstickers, chicken & broccoli stirfry (this was actually good & healthy!), 12oz skim milk, last Mango Mochi
1 f/v
65oz water

65 minute walk during DD's soccer practice

Anna

Happy Birthday to dd! :bday:

A sure sign that you're really getting into your healthy lifestyle, is how you don't beat yourself up after a not-so-good food day, and get right back on track. Great job! Good job getting that exercise and water in too. Enjoy your dd's big day!

Hope your DD had a fantastic birthday :)
Your days sound hectic with all that picking up & dropping off!!!
Just curious, but what time does school start & finish out there??
My DD starts at 8.40am & finishes at 3.05pm (we leave home at 8am)
I'm thinking of looking into working in schools in the US :)

DD's birthday was wonderful. DH took DD11 and DD12 to participate in Coastal Cleanup Day in the morning. They wanted to do this at the beach that they have been swimming at for the past three weeks and show DH how far out the buoy is. They got extra credit for science too. In the afternoon, DD11 had a soccer game (they won!) and I was snack mom. DD11 wanted to bring cupcakes for the "after game" snack. After DD11 got cleaned up she had her presents and a "treasure hunt." She didn't want a party this year so her big present is annual passes to Disneyland!!! The treasure hunt was for fun trip related stuff: buy a silly hat, candy from the candy palace, lunch at Blue Bayou, a pressed penny for 1995, etc. It was a lot of fun. We went to Marie Calenders for dinner. DD11 loves the potato cheese soup and chicken pot pie. DH's mom and sister came over for the game, etc and dinner.

I have been reading and posting on everyone else's journals first because I was embarrassed to post on my own. :sad2: DD's birthday on Saturday was wonderful for her, I'm totally ok with it not being healthy for me. Sunday however????? I have been on a bonified binge! :sad2:

Thank goodness tomorrow is a new week. WI tomorrow will be ugly though, I'm sure :sad2:

Saturday:
8:00a - dutch baby pancake, 2 slices bacon, 1c watermelon, 12oz skim milk
1:00p - 1c watermelon (while cutting up for soccer halftime snack)
3:50p - cupcake, 3 cheetos (after game snack)
4:30p - 2 glasses of wine (remember MIL is here!)
5:45p - small cup navy bean soup, 1/2 slice cornbread w/ too much honey butter, tri tip, broccoli, mashed potatoes, big slice peach pie, large glass wine (MIL still here!)

40oz? water

Sunday:
8:00a- 4 pancakes, 1/4c blueberries, 3T blueberry syrup, 1 egg, 12oz skim milk
12:00p- 1/2 ham sandwich on whole wheat, 1 serving BBQ potato chips, 12oz skim milk
12:30p - 3-4 more servings BBQ potato chips, raspberry soda :sad2:
3:30p - ENTIRE bag of Moose Munch, 12oz skim milk :sad2:
5:30p - ??? DH is making twice baked stuffed potatoes. I shoud make soup or something healthy, but at this point the day is already a huge loss so maybe I'll just eat the potato. :crazy:

water as of right now - 0!!

Anna
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CJK - I'm not upset about Saturday and Friday was clearly stress eating, but Sunday??? I have no good excuse. :sad2: Monday will be better. At least, it better be ....
Tracey - I am definitely feeling like a taxi service right now. DD11 has school from 8-2:20 which is reasonable. The middle school is 7:40 - 2:15 except DD12 doesn't go to her last period since she has Independent Study PE. M,T, and F she is done at 1:15. Wednesdays she has her period 1,3, and 5 classes so she actually stays until 2:15. Thursdays are period 2, 4, and 6 classes. Since she doesn't have a period 6 class she can come home right after period 4 at 11:15, but I make her stay at school for lunch "so she can see her friends" (and I get a bit of time for a walk :cool1: ) and pick her up at 11:55a.
Moose Munch, wine, Marie Callendar's and Mother in Law. Emphasis on Mother in Law, say no more! Tomorrow is a new day, birthdays and mil's are always cause for some out of program eating time! Sounds like you had fun with the whole family and thats what counts! Happy New Week (I am ready for one myself)!!
