This would be L.A time.
Another neat thimg to do in San Diego is Old Town...it's not for everyone but I really enjoyed it. The beach by Del Mar is pretty nice (but I don't know where Carlban is so I don't know if it's close). When we went to San Diego there was one beach that have a midway on it. I'm not sure of the name but when my cousin returns from Florida I can ask her if you would like (she lives in San Diego now and knows a lot of fun things to do there).
Is there a shuttle at the airport? If not I'm pretty sure there is a commuter train(but I'm not 100% sure). Is it possible for you to return the van at another location?

thank you
Carlsbad is where lego land is it is about 1 hour i think from anaheim and about 30 minutes from sandiego .
I know that there is a diseny express from the airport but not sure if you can take it . i thought it was just for people coming from airplane lol.
As far as taking it somewhere else not to sure, i think we might do budget as am a costco member and get discounts.
I will look into the beach and old town
thanks

We've rented from an airport before and we returned the vehicle in Anaheim. We used Budget. There's a Budget on S. Harbor, walking distance to the Desert Inn), a Hertz inside the Anaheim Marriott, and many other car rental companies around the DL resort area.

Just specify that you want to return the van from a different location from the pickup location. It may cost a little bit more and may prevent you from using some car rental discount coupons (I think some coupons only lets you use them if you have the same pickup/dropoff locations), but definitely worth it for the convenience. HTH!

A beach you may want to look into is Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, close to Carlsbad. We go there every year. It's a family beach with washrooms and free parking. We load up a cooler bag with sandwiches and drinks, and enjoy a day of boogie boarding and surfing there.

You may also want to go to the premium outlets in Carlsbad. Really great place for shopping deals, if you're into that. There's a Rubio's there too -- really great fish tacos.

Another vote for Old Town.
