Only just got it finalised a couple of days ago, so I thought i'd let you all know what i'll be up to for the 18 days starting Tuesday :cool1:

We start off in St Petes for 8 days. The first 2 we can relax and do some sightseeing, and the centrepiece of the following 6 days will be attending the Trop every day to watch the Tampa Bay Rays. After that we head up to Orlando for 10 days, staying in a hotel just south of AK.

The Orlando side of things was planned carefully in terms of the parks. They are all set for 'quiet' days on the Busy Day Guide, and none of them are EMH days. Added to the fact that I think the parks won't be too busy, we should get to do and see a lot. We aren't doing Seaworld (or Busch Gardens for that matter, despite the fact we are fairly close to it for 8 days) or AK on this trip, in case anyone thinks we simply forgot about them ;)

Anyway, here's the plan;

St Petes
--------

Tue 28/4 - Arrive, get a phone and groceries from Walmart on 34th St S. Watch Rays game in hotel bar hopefully. If not, Beef O'Bradys on 34th St S.

Wed 29/4 - Drive down to Port Charlotte at 10:30-11. The Rays have a new Spring Training stadium down there, and we really want to have a look at it. Also, a couple of guys we are buying tickets from (through a Rays forum that i'm a member of) are meeting us there with the tickets, and we are planning lunch in a Rays bar in the town. Around 5pm, we are heading up to Sarasota to watch the Rays minor league team, the Stone Crabs, play the Sarasota Reds. Head home after that (around 9pm) and catch the end of the Rays game in the hotel bar hopefully.

Thu 30/4 - Spend the day at Fort de Soto beach (rated the #1 beach in the USA!) as we'll likely be tired from the long day before, then back to the hotel for a shower and change, and up to the Trop to watch the Rays take on Boston

Fri 1/5 - Visit 'Big Cat Rescue' in Tampa (really looking forward to this!) then back to the hotel for a change, and up to the Trop for the 2nd game of a 4 game series.

Sat 2/5 - It's getting to the business end of the Scottish football season, so we're up VERY early today as we have to be in Dunedin by 7:30am to watch Celtic in the Tampa Bay Celtic Supporters Club bar, Flanagans. Down to Clearwater beach after the game to try the pirate ship and Sea Screamer, and back to the hotel for around 5 for the drive up to the Trop for game 3.

Sun 3/5 - Late start. Laze about pool then up to the Trop for the game starting at 1pm. After that we are going to check out Ybor City in Tampa and try out a Cuban sandwich.

Mon 4/5 - Lowery Park Zoo in Tampa today. After that, back to the hotel for a shower and change, then up to the Trop for the 1st in a 2 game set against the Baltimore Orioles.

Tue 5/5 - Pick a beach for the morning, then get ready for our last game at the Trop. Afterwards we are meeting up with Al and Jim (who have secured us our tickets for 4 of the games) and going to the downtown area for dinner and a few beers.

Orlando
-------

Wed 6/5 - Travel up early and head straight for Universal/IOA. Leave around 3, pick up our tickets from Undercover Tourist and check-in at hotel at 4.

Thu 7/5 - breakfast @ Boma 9:15am then off to DHS.

Fri 8/5 - MK :goodvibes ALL day!

Sat 9/5 - Epcot :goodvibes :goodvibes

Sun 10/5 - Universal

Mon 11/5 - IOA or MK

Tue 12/5 - Breakfast @ CM 10:30 (thanks to a fellow DISer who changed her ressie to my name :thumbsup2 ) then MK again. We have a lot to see of this park yet, we only really seen Tomorrowland and Main Street last time.

Wed 13/5 - Epcot :woohoo:

Thu 14/5 - IOA

Fri 15/5 - IOA/US morning MK evening

Sat 16/5 - Home (maybe Epcot?)

This is, of course, subject to change (the Orlando part especially, the St Petes part is more or less cast in stone) depending on how we are finding the parks. We have a 7 day MYW for Disney and the 2 week ticket for Universal, so we have a bit of flexibility.

Eating is mostly going to be on the hop, although there are a couple of dinner shows i'd really like to try. With it just being me and junior this time, there will be more early nights and less time propping up the bar with my dad :rolleyes1

Comments? :thumbsup2

sounds fantastic, have a great time :thumbsup2

sounds terrific!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 It doesn't seem like yesterday that you were talking about your first trip in 2007!!!:lmao:

Have a fantastic time!!:yay::yay:

Have a great time-soooo jealous. We did it the other way round a few years back, 11 days in Orlando then 7 at St Petes.

Tell me about it amy, I was just talking with Wayne about that yesterday! Time seems to have been flying in recently, so i'm hoping it starts to slow down soon

Thanks Shazzie! :thumbsup2 Were you staying on the beach in St Petes? I'm not a big beach person, but the beaches around that area are simply stunning and i'm really looking forward to spending a couple of early mornings with junior, on a deserted beach playing catch with his baseball :goodvibes

By the way, I just noticed a slight flaw in my plan  There are 2 Celtic games on when we are in Orlando, and we are going to need to go up to the top of International Drive for a bar to watch them in (the Lucky Leprechaun). One kicks off at 7:30am on Sat 9th (Epcot day) and the other is at 14:45 on the following Tuesday, when we are in MK! :headache: I might have a look later and see if I can swap at least one of those days with a day up at US/IOA.

I probably should give up on planning, they always seem to unravel just as I think i've thought of everything

Sounds like a good plan - I went to see the Detroit Tigers last summer so I'm a new convert to baseball.

The only thing I'd change is the trip to the Celtic Supporters club as my allegiances lie elsewhere!!! :rotfl: (neither old firm are any use this year are they??).

Have a cracking trip! :wizard:

Yeah, we were right on beach. Like you we're not particularly 'sit on beach' people-but it was lovely to walk along shore in morning and evening-sunsets were beautiful-we even saw a dolphin.:goodvibes

Haha you're too right m_m, it's as if they are trying to gift it to each other

It's gonna be strange watching football at that time in the morning, although i'll need to remember it first as I have a habit of losing track of days when i'm on holiday lol.:rolleyes1
