Hey y'all!

I thought you would get a kick out of this one! A friend of mine talked me into taking Italian (admittedly, I wasn't a hard sell) classes at a local school at night.

Our instructor is delightful. She is about 35 years old and has 2 small children. She has only been living in the States for a few months - and of all places - in the SOUTH!

Even though she was born and raised in Corsica, Italy, her family moved to England when she was about 15 or so and I believe her husband is British.

So - here she is - teaching a bunch of SOUTHERN Yanks - with her somewhat husky Italian accent but in British phrases!

Teacher example (Imagine this in an Italian accent!) If you fancy having a go at this translation, please do.

Typical American response: Wha' the sam hill is she sayin'?

Teacher: Excuse me, please, but is there a Sam Hill here? I have no Sam Hill on my roster.

And so it goes............

But I have to say, I just love it! And when I finally get to the other side of the pond, I'll be able to visit TWO countries and speak their language!

That would be Italy ... and Poland!

........ I still can't speak British LOL LOL LOL LOL ;)

Aloha,
Lorraine

Hi Lorriane

Well done for having a go, sounds great fun, I really want to learn to speak Spanish and one day I will get around to it I hope. :goodvibes

Sounds great fun.
I've decided to teach myself French so have resorted to listening to podcasts while driving :)
