My Incredible week in USF (in a NUTshell)with apologies in advance to CPM and MIB...

This is NOT a trip report, just a summary!

Day One: I drove down from Atlanta December 30th (I do NOT recommend this) toting a very sick child and two types of clothing (winter and not!) After breaking the speed limit in at least 20 different counties I slide into USF at about 12:30pm for my meet with MIB999999, Robert Walker and the esteemed Barry Hom. NOT as easy chore dragging along a green child.

We managed to catch the tail end of the meet in the MIB999999 Fan club aka MYTHOS. I felt like I was sitting with a Backstreet Boy! Everyone from the top brass to the roaches knew his name. I expected the stone face on the front of the restaurant to say goodbye to him when we left!

Well, we made it over to (what else?) Men In Black, me and three very TALL men... Like MIB said, it was my dream! I had to point out that one of them needed to be in blue and red spandex, though! BTW, Robert Walker knows EVERYTHING about coasters, MIB knows EVERYBODY, and Barry took such good care of my little sick boy. He's gonna make a great Daddy!

Day Two: New Years Eve! We hit USF EARLY in the AM and run into Robert Walker on Dueling Dragons! He is just the last word on everything "coaster." I spent the night with Michael's new "best friend", an adorable 5yo old boy and his parents at the Midway carnival on I-Drive. They had FREE tickets! So it wasn't MYTHOs but the price was RIGHT!

Day Three: New Years Day. SeaWorld and USF. I spent the whole time at SeaWorld hearing my now better son talking about how he wanted to go back to USF. So we did! I cannot get enough of this place! Took a break and saw Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius at the CinemaPlex. I must be getting younger because I really liked that movie!

Day Four: Had a meeting at 12 with SwanDolphin at the Dolphin (LOVE that guy) then I get to meet CPM and her family at the Hard Rock! CPM, let's call her Cheryl as I am sure she's going past this sentence to see if I told you all about our EXPERIENCE... ... has the most aDORable children. Little Kevin looks like Dennis the Menace and her teenager looks like a little girl of 10. Both beautiful children!

Cheryl's hubby had a family emergency and had to leave. I know I wasn't much of a replacement but HEY, here I come! We had a great time! Especially on SPIDERMAN!!

heh heh heh...

Well, as I seem to CAUSE, Spidey hiccuped and the ride just STOPPED. Cheryl, who up to this point had been growling about how she HATES motion rides litterally LOST IT.

Uh, Robin, I have to get out of here.... Robin, I HAVE TO GET OUT OF HEEEEEEEEERE....




WHAT did she expect me to do? I had to remind her that I was JUST a moderator on a little Universal board NOT IOATech or Earl!

No matter. CPM STOOD UP in the car and proceeded to DEMAND that she be let OUT! NOW!!! Her just turned five son announced "Somebody get my Mommy OUT OF HERE!" Then he reversed roles and proceeded to calm MOMMY down!! I think her daughter crawled under the seat...

About ten minutes later we were allowed to finish the ride MUCH to CPM's chagrin... I don't think she'll be riding Spidey any time soon!!!!

Day Five: My sister comes into town from snowy Atlanta. Cool out day.

Day Six: IOA day. My sister's first time! She is STILL mad at me for not warning her about the Hulk's launch! heh heh heh...
This is Michael's birthday so he just HAD to go back to MYTHOs. Of COURSE we were remembered because of Orlando's answer to NSync, MIB9s... BTW, Kieren and Lauren say HELLO!

Okay, so this IS a trip report. Needless to say it was AWESOME!! And you know what I did all day? Planned my next trip!! heh heh heh....

I'm waiting for my wife to finish packing so we can set off on the first leg of a CT-Orlando drive. It's snowing here and in the 20s. I had hoped to get to our New York City place in time for dinner. Looks like we'll get there after midnight!

Ah well, we'll be in sunny Florida soon enough.

Two things you never tell: the launches in the Hulk and RnR Coaster. You can see the launch in RnR Coaster. The Hulk seems like a standard lifehill until...BOOM!

You're too kind Robin! LOL My son loved being with Micheal, all the way home Kevin kept saying "I miss my freind Michael!" Funny we call him Dennis all the time! Michael was so good with Kevin. Crystina, even though she was cold she loved having someone to go on the coasters with. You were the perfect stand him for my hubby, except I was so Damn cold I could have used a little snuggling!
And as for the rest what can I say my little moderator couldn't save me!

I hope you are busy plannig a trip to Orlando for the second weekend in February. You do have to experience Mardi Gras with us . I have been reading Renee's and your posts on these boards since 1999 and I am finally going to meet Renee, so, now we have to figure out how to get you there too. The airlines are trying to tempt you with their lowered fares. Maybe?

Donna is such a doll... I WISH I could go again so soon, but Christmas and a birthday trip for Michael was enough for this girl's income!

I hope it came across that I had the best time while I was there with the folks from this board. I posted on the Community Board that Pete Werner should be proud to have gotten so many people from so many places together with a common interest. I love telling people I have a FRIEND in Hawaii!!

CPM was a hoot. My son remembers everything like it was on video! I look forward to many more trips on Spiderman with them! heh heh heh! Michael will never forgive me if we don't!

And kelly, have a great trip! My parents and I took three HORRENDOUS trips back and forth to New York City when we first got here. Now everyone has to come visit US!

Here's to winning the lottery and a trip to Molokai Con!!

King Kong WAS open and don't you think my son didn't let me know it! He jumped for joy when he saw he could ride it! It's a sentimental favorite of mine because it reminds me of the old dirty New York subways of yesteryear PRE Guiliani!

I'm glad Michael felt better for the remainder of the trip. I know that he wasn't feeling totally better on 12/31. As for knowing everything about coaster, that isn't me. I do know about them but not everything.

I will be contacting you after Six Flags opens to get some pointers about SFOG and if I can meet up with you.

Hi, Kitty!

This was Michael and my 14th trip to our favorite park in two years so no doubt it was all we expected!

Surprisingly, I NEVER tire of them. This was the first time we went so many days consecutively so I was expecting to be sick of them by the time I left but all I've done since I got back was plan our NEXT trip!
