So, my son and I went to Disneyworld last year b/c it was so cheap with the 4/3 deal. My husband could not get off work. My DS 7 has talked about the trip non-stop for over a year now. So, we are going over Thanksgiving, but getting there a few days early so we can have a couple low crowd days. As my title indicates, my husband is most excited about the food, so I upgraded to the DDP. Here is our list so far and I would appreciate any suggestions/changes/comments you might have:
11/18 - 2:20 Le Cellier, 8:50 Teppan Edo (Epcot Day)
11/19 - 6:50 Brown Derby (HS Day)
11/20 - 8:20 Tusker Brkfast, 5:45 Boma (AK Day)
11/21 - 7:40 Cape May Cafe, 7:50 Garden Grill (Epcot)
11/22 - 8:25 Crystal Palace, 6:00 Narcoossee's (MK)
11/23 - 8:15 Hollywood & Vine, 3:15 Mama Melrose (HS for Fantasmic)
11/24 - 11:45 Liberty Tree Tavern, 9:20 California Grill (MK)
11/25 - 8:10 Ohana and have to be on ME Express at 2:00pm

We plan to hit some counter service such as: Earl of Sandwich, Flame Tree, Tangeriene Cafe.
Am I missing anything? We don't do Coral Reef b/c we live near the aquarium restaurant. I am hoping an early Akershus breakfast comes open and would love if Le Cellier was a dinner.

I want this to be a magical trip for my husband so he will want to make it one of many. I would like to make it a yearly trip, at least until my son turns 10.:lovestruc

I see you have 2 mornings open for breakfast. Ever done Whispering Canyon? Family Style and lots of fun. At least it was when we were there 3 years ago. Our kids still talk about it!! Enjoy your trip!:thumbsup2

Your choices look great. :thumbsup2 I actually prefer LeCellier at lunch anyway because the waits are not as long as at dinner time and still carry a few of the dinner items on the menu.

My only suggestion is on one of your Epcot days make a trip over to the Boulangerie Patisserie bakery in France. They have some amazing desserts like chocolate mousse, eclairs, napoleons, and creme brulee. Your can use your snack credits for these items.:goodvibes

Well...if you want Le Cellier to be a dinner, I would switch. Is Tepan Edo the restaurant that is like Benihana? To me, that is the one restaurant in the countries that is not worth it, unless you absolutely don't have anything like that where you live. We went once, and thought Benihana was better. There are many more interesting restaurants to try.

unless you looove H&V I would skip it and spend the time waiting in line for TSM. Maybe grab a CS pastry from Starring Rolls after the run to TSM. Also I would trade BOMA for Saana. The food is insane, and the view is amazing ( eat dinner with a giraffe! )

We did the deluxe plan Thanksgiving 2008. It was our first time on any kind of dining plan. I planned 8:30am breakfast, 2pm lunches and 7:30 dinners.

Here's what happened.

All breakfasts were buffets with characters. By the time the characters came around, got pictures, autographs, ate, paid.. it was about 1 1/2 hours before we left the restaurant. We left breakfast around 10:00am, saw a 2-3 attractions (keep in mind attractions are 1/2 - 1 hour wait), then it was time to head for lunch.

Still full from breakfast, we sat at lunch. Because it was deluxe, we got apps, entree and dessert. Left lunch completely stuffed shortly after 3, went on a couple of more attractions, then headed to the hotel around 5:30, showered, changed and it was time for dinner! Blllaahhhhh..

Needless to say, by day 3, we were calling Disney Dining and cancelling our lunches for the rest of the trip. We didnt even use a snack credit because we were so full and had the refillable mugs for drinks at our resort. I vowed never to go deluxe again. You waste so much time at the table service and dont get to see anything at the parks because its always time for your next meal.

My 2 cents...plan two meals and take the loss or start booking 2 credit restaurants and dinner shows. Also a little Thanksgiving week advise...the parks are open very late each night (well, at least MK and Epcot). Dont rush during the day and stand in long lines for the attractions. Better to sleep in a bit, or even spend time at the pool, then go to the parks later. By 5:00pm, the parks are EMPTY. Everyone is at dinner and all the little kids are ready for bed after dinner. The ones who do head back to the parks are usually watching the parade and nobody is on the rides. We banged out about 10 rides per hour at night!

Whatever you do..enjoy your trip!
