My husband wants to buy the new dark blue band. Can I pay then switch the free band to dark blue?

I just ordered all 7 of our free bands. My 3 year old managed to change my husband’s to the lime green and hit submit while I was answering the phone. My husband doesn’t like the lime green and wants the dark navy blue (one of the colors you pay for).

If I buy him the navy band, will he still have the lime green circle/puck/Mickey?

I know this seems stupid, but since he’s paying for so much, I’m figuring I should accommodate him. & He’s not a lime green type of guy. Lol

If you just customized your bands, you should still be able to go in and change your selection.

If you buy him another band, he’ll just have two bands - the one you bought and the one with your resort reservation.

You should be able to change your band choices unless they’ve already shipped.

If you decide to purchase a band, it comes with a puck (so he wouldn’t have a lime green puck and a navy blue band unless he wanted to).

Ohhhhhh. So guests can have as many bands and pucks as they want?

I was thinking everyone could only have one puck/rdif chip thingy but as many bands as they wanted, so they could pop the puck out and put it into dyffereht color bands but the puck always remained the same.

So a fashionista could literally order 7 bands and use all 7 pucks/chips as she pleased?

Not planning on doing this....just for clarification

yup! although you only get one 'freebie' per person per trip.

Yes, I have well over 30 bands associated with my account from my many stays. I have never swapped the pucks, but that’s just sheer laziness, they do look cute with the different combinations!

The button just says you’re done customizing, but you should be able to edit it. There’s no “I’m done now I’ve ordered” button, since the system just waits until the day it determines.

Or more. I have SO many free-with-resort-reservation bands.

Just a warning: It's not as easy as you think to get the puck out. It takes some work.

If your bands haven't shipped you can edit your selections as many times as you want, so no worries on the lime green.

You can also buy whichever band you want separately.

You can also get magic band skins (stickers that go over your bands that can customize them however you would like from a solid color, sparkles, characters, or your own pic) from a number of online retailers. Google magic your band... had excellent customer service with them. Or you can customize them yourself with stickers and paint. Lots of options.

Agreed. It was much tougher than I thought it was going to be. DH ended up having to do it for me because I couldn't get the puck out.

Yes Ive ordered my husband the grey band and a camo skin to put over it

I have something like 20 active bands on my account. Don't know if there is a limit.

Sometimes having so many "active" cause the ones you are using to act up. You can go into MDE and click old ones as "inactive".

Making old bands "inactive" doesn't solve or prevent the issue you're referring to (despite what a legion of Resort CMs tell guests on a daily basis). Inactive bands are still attached to your account in every way. The only difference is that "inactive" bands have had their access to your account temporarily suspended (they can be turned back on at anytime, too). It means the bands can't do anything for (or to) you, but it doesn't remove them from your account at all. Disney IT can remove them from your account, but even that doesn't guarantee that you won't experience data corruption in your account.

One freebie per onsite stay, so if doing a split stay, you'd get one for each resort.

Yep, good point.

There's also the option to decline bands, if you want. If we stay at more than 2 resorts in a trip (or a year, really), we start declining bands.

While the band and puck can be separated, all of the Magic Bands that Disney sells come with the puck integrated into the band. Here's a sampling from the Disney Store:

Magic Bands

When you activate a band in MDE, the identifier that's encoded onto the puck is linked to your MDE account. That's how Disney's park turnstile systems find your MDE account to see if you have a valid ticket, and how the point of sale systems find your account to see if you have a room charge account set up, etc.

You can have many different bands/pucks attached to your MDE account. Disney wants you to have many bands attached to your account, at $15/$25 each. ;)
