We are planning our first trip to Disneyland, and my head is spinning with the information I am finding on the Disney website. It is confusing, and not very helpful!

Would someone please explain to me the dining plans?!

The dining "plans" are not like those at WDW. It is basically food vouchers and you really do not save anything by getting them.

Most do not use them, but someone will chime in who is an expert.

In short, you don't want the dining plan at Disneyland. You don't save money. You just prepay for vouchers of certain dollar amounts but you don't get change back if you spend less than the voucher's full amount. Do a search for "dining plan" on this board and you'll find they aren't recommended generally unless there is a special circumstance, like locking in exchange rates if you're from a foreign country.

Thank you all so much! I guess I wasn't reading it wrong, it really doesn't make sense!

Not a good deal. Food is not the priority like it is at WDW nor is the quality in alot of the restaurants. There are some very good ones but the dining plan is not a good option.
