i am SO confused. i always read so much conflicting stories, suggestions, people saying they got this or that and others saying you can't actually do that and those who did it were really mistaken. im going crazy.

one. is free DDP really coming out? if so, for me? or for you people that have good enough credit to get a disney visa?

two. can i use my AAA with the free DDP? half of you say yes. half of you say no. i need some clarification.

three. if you can't use your AAA with the free DDP, then whats the point of booking the trip through AAA anyways.

four. someone please explain to me exactly what i need to get free DDP if it does come out? wait. i think i can answer this for myself. i need a room and park hopper ( im not into the base ticket thing..) right? or do i have to have the park hopper? because i would rather get that through the discounted ticket site.

im not a newbie. im just a confusbie.

1) Free dining is still a rumor, for now. Rumor says good for dates from 8/26 to 9/22 (if you are there before 9/22, you can get free dining length of stay). Disney Visa holders usually get 3 days before GP, but it's doubtful that they will run out of rooms for your dates before the GP open. You may have less selection of resorts, though.

2) You can still book through AAA, though I don't think you will get a room discount, even through them, you will get the same package discount as directly through Disney.

3) TA at AAA does all the work instead of you sitting on the phone.

4) You will need a room for each night, and at least a 1 day ticket for everyone in the room...you may lose out on the ticket discount when you buy through the ticket outlets, but the $40 a day per adult you save on dining will more than make up for it.

Hope you are slightly less confused,
SkierPete

ok, I'm confused too. Sooo, say you are going on a 8 day trip. Can you buy a one day ticket...but have all 8 days free dining? Then you can buy your remaining 7 day park tickets from undercover tourist?
The answer to your questions are all YES. They require a package in order for you to receive free dining, and a package requires your room and at least a one day ticket for everyone in the party. You can buy tickets for the rest of your travel time wherever you'd like. The dining plan is attached to how many nights you will be staying (attached to the room portion), not the tickets...which is why you are only required a one day ticket.

Actually, the answer is NO. The number of credits for Free Dining is attached to how many NIGHTS you have a room reserved for. So, if you're staying 7 nights/ 8 days you'll get 7 snacks, 7 CS and 7 TS per person. You do have to at least purchase a 1 day ticket for each person in your party to make it a "package deal".

see... this is what im talking about....

its starting to drive me NUTS! :rolleyes1

OK, where I get a little confused is why would people want to only buy the one day ticket in the package, then but the remaining 7 days form an outlet. I did the math and you really don't save anything because the tickets are front loaded, with the first days being the most expensive. May as well buy your entire admission ticket in the package. Am I missing something here?

Those who have already purchased their tickets or have AP's would need to purchase at least a one day ticket each. Otherwise it would be cheaper to just purchase the amount of days you need along with the package.

OK. I get it if you have an AP or already have tickets. But I had heard it was better to buy the one day ticket, then go to an outlet for the remaining 7 (or however many) days. THat did not make much sense to me. I get it though if yo uhave an AP or tickets form a previous trip or something.

You are right about the outlet. I assumed it would be cheaper to buy from an outlet using the mousesavers link...but in the case of free dining it would not be.
