Hi everyone!

I'm just posting a link to my blog.

It's just in the beginning stages, but it's a place where I'm collecting information about WDW and my GF/CF and Crohn's experiences. If it weren't for the disboards I'd have been lost before I went with dietary restrictions the first time. I'm hoping that maybe this will be an additional help to those who need it and a great way to collect my own personal experiences.

I know we all here on the disAbilities thread rely on other's experiences and that is a great help! I couldn't do it without all those tips. Now I'd like to start giving back and sharing my experience.

Also, I have posted a recipe for the brownies at the Crystal Palace (gluten, dairy, egg, and nut free) they are to die for!

Hopefully, it will help someone!

Enjoy!

Thanks for posting. It is very nice and I will add a link to your blog to the disABILITIES FAQs thread, in post #3, under the dietary information.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! :goodvibes
I really hope that it offers help to those who need it.
I can't wait to add more places (and hopefully recipes) from WDW when I go in Jan/Feb.
Of course, if anyone has tips or reviews I'd love to hear them or add them to my blog.

I'm so grateful for the disboards and the disABILITIES thread....when I got diagnosed with Crohn's it was life changing. I had no clue I'd be living a GF/CF lifestyle. Sometimes it's frustrating and sometimes it's challenging but with all the support and community here on the disboards I've felt so much more relieved and supported going through the transition. Now I feel like a pro! And being able to go to WDW was a concern at first, but now I realize how easy and safe it is. Better than any local restaurant or chain any day!

Thanks again everyone!:thumbsup2

I actually haven't had the chance to try the chicken tenders (though I'm going to this next time...I've heard so many good things about them!), but I have heard nothing but rave reviews about them. :thumbsup2 I've heard a lot of non-dietary restriction folks say they really like them too. I've heard some great experience with these at Columbia Harbour House in MK but it would appear that they are being served at a lot more locations. Here's a list of ingredients from Brenda Bennett (as of 10/09--but remember to always check close to your visit for accurate information, things can change):

Batter: Water, white rice, brown rice, modified tapioca starch, salt and spices.
Breading: white rice, brown rice, modified tapioca starch, salt and pepper. Breading is pre-browned in canola oil.

There is a list on my blog with locations that serve these tenders.

Hope that helps!
You'll have to let us know if you try them and what you think.
I'll be there at the end of Jan. so I'll be sure to give a review when I get back!

Thanks so much for the wonderful lists and your blog!!!! :worship:

We are taking my DMIL in Feb and she has Celiac Sprue. I am collecting whatever information I can find. We are glad to hear we can order a GF cake as we will be there to celebrate 3 birthdays, my mom, DHs mom and DS.

Do you recommend any 1 sit-down restaurant as being accommodating? We are planning 1 sit-down lunch. We were considering either Le Celier or Chefs de France but are still open to suggestions.

DisMomme, maybe not what you want... but Chef Mickey's breakfast completely rocks. Okay, so your MIL might not want a character breakfast, depends on the MIL, you know. ;)

They did a lovely job with DS. GF/CF/EF waffles- I was expecting them to just warm up some Van's but the chef really made them- DS stuffed his face like I've never seen before, to the point where he wasn't even paying attention to Mickey.

DisMomme: Your DMIL will love the ease in which she can eat GF! The restaurants are all so accomodating and really it's just nice to not have to worry about not getting food. From the places I have eaten, I really loved Jiko...they went so above and beyond! :thumbsup2 However, if you are looking at a place in the park, you have loads of options. Really, I've heard great things about so many places. I'm going to go to Le Cellier at the end of Jan./first week of Feb. so....if we time it right I might have a review for you! I've eaten at Le Cellier prior to being GF/CF and I will say it's one of my most favorite restaurants at WDW! Have you checked out the menus on allearsnet? Of course, the chefs can always make different things on than what's on the menu, but it might give you a good idea. Their steaks are to die for! Good luck in your choices...hope I've helped a little!

And BeckyScott is right...the character breakfast at Chef Mickey's is awesome. I've heard a lot of people say good things about it with GF too!
Personally, I love Kona Cafe for breakfast...yum, Big Kahuna and GF/CF mickey waffles! :woohoo:
