My friend from my HS won the Olympic Gold Medal!!

My childhood and HS friend, Mariel Zagunis, just won the Olympic gold in the Women's Sabre event in Fencing! How cool is that? I remember when I was younger she took me to one of her practices for fencing, it's amazing how far she's gotten. We don't talk anymore really now that we're in college but I'm so proud to have known someone who accomplised something so great!

It's really amazing, I've known her since we were 6. We don't talk anymore really but I'm really good friends with her best friend now. It's such a great accomplish for someone who is 19.

As much as I love watching the big events (swimming, gymnastics, diving, track and field), I really wish the network evening show would spend more time on the more "minor" events, like fencing, equestrian, archery, etc. I'd like to see some of those athletes as well . . .

I fenced in college. I love it! Now that I've had my shoulder repaired, I would like to take it up again.

Morticia, you should take up fencing again. I was thinking about taking fencing as one of my college classes. (easy credit since it's something fun! and I'm really getting sick of these hard classes! ) I wish I had taken it in college last year bc it looks like so much fun!
