My Fork and I Are Friends - Nov. 14 TR RL UPDATE 7/12 Pg. 22

Love the way the Beast hugs! It's fun, I get totally lost in there.

I LOVE that dress! (Have I said that already? Maybe. It's worth saying again.)

Poor Pantsless Adam. I can't see him any other way...

That Ariel... I can sorta see it. Something just a little strange.

Danielle, I adore your dress! And you look so cute in it. You are right...the Beast just envelopes you (I always feel like a midget next to him).

Can you imagine Mark and Popadon with swords? Heaven help us.

Ariel looks weird!!! I'm sorry, but some of these princesses do NOT look anything like they should look or what we've come to expect.

I can for sure see Mark and Popadon with swords. We would all have to get out of the way though

Why is it that people do that? Like, someone asks you a question and you just go "online" and move on? Give some specifics.

Because they're stingy and don't want other people getting the same thing. Ugh, I HATE those people. They act like that designer made that dress SPECIFICALLY for them and no one else:snooty:

It's like you get completely enveloped by him. GET IN HERE!

I love these kinds of hugs!

And had to take a picture of pantsless Adam.

:rotfl::rotfl2:

Gorgeous!

Oh pop and his antics.

And then DM and her antics! :lmao:

Little known fact. I have a Scuttle doll from a 1991 WDW trip. And I believe I still have it. So when I saw the Scuttle doll, I totally had a flashback moment.

I have a quite a few 'vintage' stuffed animals from Disneyland from the 80's and early 90's and I love that I have them to pass on to DS!

Ok strange interaction. And also, what is she wearing! I've never seen that before.:confused3

Pfft, online. That's people for you. I'm glad you were more helpful and I hope that girl got the info to her friend.

All three of you look super fab in your picture with the Beast.

Eww mist drizzle. I understand heading inside the store.

Hmm, that does sound off putting to have Ariel acting so strange. Sidenote: I've never seen her 'winter' attire before so that's strange for me too.

If it was getting rainy, it's always acceptable to skip Wishes if you're also cold. No hard feelings.

After that girls online comment I wish you'd shown her you were wearing the same dress :rotfl2:

What a very strange Ariel and what is that top she's wearing???

Your clothes are always so cute. I love how you are always dressed to fit the day. So perfect! :worship:

Awww, thanks Dawn! I do like coordinating and trying to have my outfits make sense. Sometimes they don't, but you know. It happens. LOL.

Of course you mean you'll be updating regularly until the next trip comes along in a couple of months, right? :p

Yeah, I think some people somehow think they're special that they somehow clicked a link and found something nice and don't want to share. Like they actually accomplished something. Good grief. Then again there is only one online store on the internet, so I'm sure that's it.

Hahahaha, good ol' pantsless Adam. How is this still a thing?

Wait, are you implying there are other mermaids????

Eesh, Ariel sounds almost animatronic. I hope this isn't the future of Disney Meet and Greets.

Hey now. I'm trying my best here! :P

That was actually the exact same thought that I had when the CM told me that the girl just said "online" for where she got the dress. It cracked me up. Girl, it isn't that hard to find, so don't think you've got super secret information. Google people. Google.

It's still a thing because it's funny! And possibly because I continue to make it a thing.

Wait what? NO. NO. There are not other mermaids. :scared:

She was so weird! I have to say though, unusual because most of the meet and greets are totally fine. Never that weird. This was an anomaly.

Seriously! It still amazes me that no one else saw this as pantsless prior to it being committed to glass. But then again, it sure would have spoiled the fun for all of us! ;)

I know I've already commented on your dress, but I really love it! I also really appreciate that you themed it out for the occasion of your BoG dinner! I haven't yet been to BoG but I have a lunch ADR for my May trip and am very excited!!!

Based on your description of "model Ariel", I have a very vivid picture in my head of how that meet went  Also, I may or may have that picture set to Madonna's "Vogue" - strike a pose! But glad that Julia was none the wiser and enjoyed it! :goodvibes

It actually isn't really pantsless, in the stained glass' defense. There are slight color differences when you look at it. But in photographs it's virtually pantsless.

I do love that dress, it's one of my favorites. Yay for having a lunch ADR for May! I do really enjoy BOG. I was fortunate enough to get a breakfast there!

Man. I totally should have started voguing in that pictures......

I love all of your pictures with Beast! Pictures with him are always funny because he's so big and he kinda takes over the picture ... but in a good way.

I never noticed that he's not wearing pants in the mosaic. Weird ... doesn't seem very Disney-appropriate.

Swordfight ... I guess the knife fight just wasn't enough for your parents? They really are so entertaining! And I love Julia in her princess crown, too.

Ariel sounds ... weird. I can see why that was off-putting. At least Julia enjoyed!

Yeah, the pictures with him are always hysterical, because he's so huge! Bahaha.

One kind of fight is never enough for the P's. They will mess with each other at any opportunity possible.

She was weird! If I had it on video, everyone would have been all like "whhhaaaa?!"

I love your pictures with Beast! It's too bad the person in line was being so protective of her dress - I'm glad you were around to give all the necessary information to the CM!

Ah, pantless Adam... would it have killed the artisans to add a little more brown to those pieces of glass?

That's too bad that your experience with Ariel was sub-par. From your pictures she looks a little loopy, so perhaps she was on some sort of meds? Who knows? :confused3

I am always around to give information! I am the keeper of facts. LOL.

Just a touch more brown. Just a wee bit.

It was like she was high or something. Hahahahahaha.

BOG was really great. The food was fantastic

The food was great, I was very happy with it.

You look so so adorable in your dress! Love the pics with the Beast :)

Ariel does look a little...strange. Funny seeing her in her winter wear too.

Thanks so much! I do love that dress.

She was so odd? And truthfully, it wasn't that cold out, but I suppose I could understand her having the winter shawl on, sitting still the whole time.

Cute pictures with the beast!

Ahhh, the Pantsless Prince! Why in the world did they ever think that color was a good one for his pants? But at least it looks like he has them on on your dress. :rotfl:

Nothing like a good sword fight to round off the day.

Bummer that it was raining and you ended up missing Wishes. Wishes in the rain is no fun at all though since you have to look up to see the fireworks.

No idea. Someone obviously didn't have their thinking cap on that day when they planned the aesthetics of the restaurant.

I knew that we had another opportunity during the week to see it, so I wasn't that worried about it. But I would have liked to see it twice.

That Ariel looks kind of frightened. Like the regular girl called in sick and they pulled her off the popcorn stand, slapped a wig on her and told her to make nice.

"You! Put on a red wig and get in there!"

Loving your TR as always Danielle! I will remember to look for Shelly next time I eat at BOG, and to try the grey stuff!

Gosh, that friend of Ariel is something. Looks like she's trying too hard maybe? Maybe she was a newbie??

Also! I meant to ask you earlier in the TR. You may have said it but I probably forgot haha. IS WLV your home DVC resort? My grandparents have DVC and their home resort is OKW, but I love seeing what other peoples are! I love DVC! I can't wait to stay at WLV one day, they look so nice. :)

You definitely should ask for Shelly the next time you're there, she's really the best.

She very well could have been. Or just over the day or something.

WLV is one of my parents home resorts. They own contracts in WLV, BCV, and SSR. The bulk of their points are in SSR, because every time they've purchased more, they've had deals for Saratoga. I really enjoyed WLV, I hadn't been there in quite some time.

If at any point I get cold at Disney World, I buy a sweatshirt. #ireallyshouldplanbetter #somanysweatshirts

You are exactly like my Mom!

#idontthinkhashtagsworkhere

#butiwishtheydid

Super cute dress!

Online. My theory is people say that deliberately as they want to be special and heaven forbid someone copy them as that would take away their specialness.

Glad you were able to share that top secret info!

Ariel looks creepy. Like she is half frozen plastic or something and can't quite figure out how to pose but she knows she is supposed to.

I met the scariest Elsa this past trip. Granted it's the only meet I've ever had with Elsa but her friend couldn't have gotten the character more wrong in my opinion.

Yes! So much yes! That's exactly my theory too. Like they want to be sooooo special. I feel that way about some people on social media too, especially on Instagram. Narcissists are exactly what they are. But that is a whole other subject that I could go on for days about.

She was. Like a Barbie doll, but like the generic one that they used to sell? Hahaha, that's terrible of me!

Sometimes they hit the nail on the head with the casting, and then other times it's like "huh?"

Thanks! I do really love that dress.

Me too! He's one of the only characters I feel small next to!

I could imagine Mark and Popadon with swords. I can also imagine poked out eyeballs. :lmao:

She really was weird and a bit of a miscasting. It happens sometimes.

No pants'!!!!!!!! How have I looked at that window multiple times and not noticed he is pantsLess. So totally gotta take my picture with it too. Think I can get away with no pants too ; )

Awkward Ariel. Clearly didn't see her go all zoolander on you, but you can just tell something is off in the picture. Is it just me or does she look a bit like lady gaga? And what's up with that giant muff she's wearing? Doesn't she know Hugh has the grotto heated (random playboy mansion reference which up to Ariel is what I equated grotto with)

Can't wait for Jesus. Still not convinced it's not Pop

Hahaha, see now you know he's pantsless and you will NEVER look at him the same way again.

Her Blue Steel fell flat, that's for sure. The giant muff is her winter wear, which is why you really rarely see it. LOL.

You just totally made me start thinking about the Girls Next Door for some reason. Man I miss that show. Haha.

Beast with pants> pantsless Beast.

The Beast is always a great hug!

That Ariel seems off... I'm imagining like a cockatiel:rotfl2:

Hahahahaha, right?

Always!

I had two cockatiels before! Girl, you are so right. Like a dang bird.

That's totally okay that you said it again, I love it too! I totally look at it in my closet sometimes, because I wish I could be wearing it at that moment!

I can't see him any other way either. That's the funny part.

Right? Just off a little.

I can for sure see Mark and Popadon with swords. We would all have to get out of the way though

We may think it's a good idea in the moment. But let's really think about this.......

Because they're stingy and don't want other people getting the same thing. Ugh, I HATE those people. They act like that designer made that dress SPECIFICALLY for them and no one else:snooty:

I love these kinds of hugs!

:rotfl::rotfl2:

Ok strange interaction. And also, what is she wearing! I've never seen that before.:confused3

Exactly! Spoiled weirdos. Hahaha!

You cannot put the two of them together, I'm telling you. Because they always get up to no good.

Me too! I have all kinds. I have a Webigail! Man, now I want to go find her.

She is wearing her winter shrug. It's the only time I've actually seen her in it.

Pfft, online. That's people for you. I'm glad you were more helpful and I hope that girl got the info to her friend.

If it was getting rainy, it's always acceptable to skip Wishes if you're also cold. No hard feelings.

Yeah, people are just strange now. Like it's a crime to share information or something.

It was the annoying rain! Sometimes I think that's just as bad as full on rain.

I had never seen her winter attire in person either.

After that girls online comment I wish you'd shown her you were wearing the same dress :rotfl2:

What a very strange Ariel and what is that top she's wearing???

I know! I should have just ran up to her and been like "oh heeeeeeeyyyyyy!"

The top is her winter shrug, and she wears it when it's colder outside.

"Can I Touch Your Monkey?"

Good morning, good morning! And an early morning at that. Who's idea was it to make a breakfast reservation for 7:45am?!

Oh wait.

That was me.

Thankfully, I was smart and had the forethought to make it at our hotel. Where does that mean breakfast was going to be this day?

Whispering Canyon!

It had been quite some time since I had eaten there myself, so I was looking forward to it. And the fact that when I was perusing the menu prior to going, they had chocolate chip pancakes on the menu.

You put chocolate chip pancakes on the menu, I'm sold. No argument required.

Since I had made our reservation at the crack of dawn, we were basically one of the first people seated. We had the best server ever, named Wendi. If you go to Whispering Canyon and get her, she's an absolute joy. She played things in character just enough to make it a lot of fun. Of course we had our card on the table green side up. To be fair, we were asking for it at our table, because as soon as she threw the straws all over the table, we started shooting straws at each other, which made Wendi threaten to throw water on us.

And then the guy next to us threatened to throw water on us.

Our table neighbors were a lot of fun too. They were frequent Disney travelers just like us and believed in just taking their time and enjoying their time in Disney. They appeared to be around my parents age, and they said that they truly felt that Disney was for adults.

YES! So much YES to this! Believe me, it's for kids too, but let's be real. It's a ton of fun for adults, and people need to realize that.

And now, I give to you.

Chocolate chip pancakes.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Mom and Julia both got the western omelet.

And Pop got the all you can eat platter. Not surprising at all, this is exactly what my Dad loves to eat.

Of course, at some point during breakfast, Julia had to ask for ketchup.

KETTTTTCCCCCHHHHHUUUUUPPPPP!!!!!!

Pop is not really a chocolate chip pancake eater, especially with his diabetes, but he wanted to give them a try.

He really enjoyed them.

I couldn't finish my breakfast. Sacrilege I know. Wendi thought that was an absolute shame, so she proceeded to feed Pop the rest of my pancakes. She said he looked like trouble and that someone at the table really needed to finish them.

We thanked Wendi at the end of our meal and told her that we really enjoyed our breakfast and that she was a great server. She thanked us profusely and said that it was really nice of us to say. She mentioned that she'd been with Disney for 16 years at that point and that she never wanted a job in the real world again. She loved where she was and what she did for a living. Believe me, I don't want to have a job in the real world either, but at this point, it's what I've got.

Bellies full from breakfast, it was time for us to move on into the park. To eat later. Because we were going back to Epcot for a F&W lunch. :) Oh and other things of course, but mainly to eat later. Hahaha! This is what you do when you're only at the F&W festival for the final weekend. You go three days in a row.

It was a little chilly that morning and a bit drizzly still from the rain the night before, so Julia and I figured it would be a good time to wear our Figment hoodies.

My goal was that in the three days we were visiting the F&W festival, I would be filling up my booklet as much as I possibly could. I was on a mission dangit! I knew I wouldn't fill it up completely, but I was going to try my best.

When we got to the park and went through security, Mom ended up with a funny security guard. He looks at her completely serious and goes "do you know whey they can't give Elsa a balloon?"

"Because she'll let it go, let it go!"

It was cute. I like it when they're into their job and like to make jokes with guests.

Soon we were heading in and gazing at this beauty.

We headed to Spaceship Earth to ride, because there was no wait. Our FP+ was set for that night at DHS, so we just had time to wander around and enjoy whatever we wanted to.

So we're waiting in line, and there's this grown man in line waiting for the ride, appeared to be in his 40's, with a stuffed monkey sitting on his shoulder.

Julia leans over to me and whispers in my ear:

"Should I ask him if I could touch his monkey?"

On top of that, as soon as we start walking on the ride, we pass the mural in the front, and Julia points and goes "that guy looks like Jesus!"

She was just rolling with them this morning!

What's up Pharaoh.

Come, learn mathematics. You'll have fun! Said no one EVER!

As we rolled through the Sistine Chapel scene, Julia points out: "Well, at least now at least I feel like I've gone to church, so I feel a little better today."

Our futures are so bright, we have to wear Figment hoodies.

In Mom's future, she jogs frequently.

And Pop has apparently lost HALF HIS FACE?!

While exercising.

And we scuba dive?

It's always a good day when you get a glance of your future on Spaceship Earth.

Up next: Food food food! Food food food food food!

And Pop got the all you can eat platter. Not surprising at all, this is exactly what my Dad loves to eat.
We ended up eating breakfast and a dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe when we stayed there last October. Our daughter, son-in-law and grandson shared the skillets for both breakfast and dinner, while DH and I just had regular entrees. Both times our server warned us that we couldn't share their food. They reminded us that they were watching us like hawks and they better not catch us sneaking a bite of their food. I hate to think what would have happened if the waitress had caught me eating one of the Mickey waffles. :duck:

Just found your trip report and I am realy enjoying it. Our kids are older, so I love reading adult only trip reports. We own some of our points at VWL and stayed there last October. Your pix brought back a lot of memories.

Can't wait to read more.

Well that's certainly an early breakfast. I'm glad it was enjoyable. Sounds like it was a hysterical breakfast (although I feel like the combination of WCC & you guys means there was no option other than "hysterical").

Um ... stuffed monkey on the guy's shoulder? Sure, that's totally normal.

I'm always entertained when Spaceship Earth randomly cuts out part of your picture. I know why it happens (sorta) ... but I think Popadon is a very extreme example there. Or maybe in the future he only needs half a face ...
The future according to Spaceship Earth is always a strange place.

Your breakfast sounds so fun :)
I love how your mom is opening her mouth as your dad is being fed :rotfl2:

I've never eaten at Whispering Canyon, but we're staying at Wilderness Lodge Villas in December and I can't wait to try it! Is breakfast better than dinner??

And so funny about F&W and eating after eating. I feel like all we do is eat on any vacation we go on, but disney is always a stunning amount of eating. This next trip I'm trying to tone down the ADRs a bit. I think our last trip I scheduled three a day and we could barely move. I don't like eating so much that I don't want to taste anything! Haha!

From what I've heard about the WWC antics, it sounds like the perfect breakfast spot for your fun family!

You mentioned you had your card on the table green side up - do they have a card on the table that indicates your desire for antics? I've never heard anyone mention that before! I assume it's similar to the card they give out at Brazilian steakhouses: green = Yes, I'll take more meat! (Antic-friendly) and red = Dear lord, no, I'm going to burst with the amount of meat I've already eaten! (Antic-adverse). I'd love if this is true as I'd love a WCC meal with antics! ::yes::

I love how your Figment hoodies turned out on your Spaceship Earth future! :thumbsup2

Poor Popadon - it doesn't look good for his face in the future. :sad2:

Despite the fact that I am absolutely detested the food at Whispering Canyon Café for dinner, I LOVE LOVE LOVE their breakfast. They had some really awesome ham. Love your served feeding Popadon the rest of your pancakes.

I love when the Security Guards of any castmember adds that bit of fun with the guests. We've had quite a few of those guards at either the parks or the houses and resorts we've visited.

J was really on a roll that morning. Can't do better than starting with Spaceship Earth for your first attraction of the day.

Love your dress! Lol at the girl with the whole "online" thing. Really? Was it supposed to be top secret? Well not anymore since you've shared it with the CM and now with us, LOL!!!

the pantless Adam.....I have a BOG ADR during my upcoming trip this May/June and now have to see the pantless Adam for myself. Haha!

That Ariel did seem off. Quite stiff and she looks almost frightened.

Chocolate chip pancakes=YUMMO! Glad you all had a great breakfast at Whispering Canyon!

Your Figment hoodies are adorbs! :lovestruc

HAHAHAHA! I've never really paid much attention to the mural at Spaceship Earth.
