Well, I went when I was 7, but obvisouly didn't have to plan that one!

I want to go next september (last 2 weeks) and am currently swaying towards the Coronado Springs Resort.

When should I book flights/hotel etc for the best rates?

And what essentials do I need to get my head around early?

I literally have no clue where to start! And all the american wdw Boards are so massive, it’s too much info for me at this early stage!!

HELP!!

Hello again,

The last two weeks of September is a nice time to go, i've been twice, although the free DDP has made it a lot busier. If you want the free DDP you can't book till around March/April 2009.

If you want to you can also get tickets for MNSSHP as they normally have some dates at the end of September.

WDW needs a lot more planning than DLRP. You need to decide which parks you want to go to then pick which tickets meet your needs. If you have some restaurants you want to try then you should book ADRs in advance.

Ask any questions you have, someone here will know the answer.

Thank you very much for your help so far!

I know that CSR is a moderate resort, will I be missing out on much more than a beach?

I can only go for 10 days really, as I'm combining it with a trip to Vegas that's already planned, and can't have much mroe time off work. SO I guess I wont have a lot of time for lounging!

Or are the deluxe resorts far superior? I don't mind the extra money if it's really worth it, but CS looks lovely! was the first one that caught my eye!

who are you going with? we have stayed at coronado springs and its a great resort, especially for families. You can sometimes hit the convention 'crowd' We have also stayed at port orleans. If you are a couple I would go Port Orleans as it is quieter and more 'romantic'.

However, if its your 1st trip you won't spend much time in the hotel!

I'm going with my boyfriend. I considered maybe Polynesian, but I don't really want to pay double for a beach I wont use.......plus I LOVE mexican food! lol.

For your first trip I don't think it matters too much where you stay as you'll be out and about so much.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll be out most of the time!

Is it difficult to get between WDW and US by Cab/bus? Does it take a long time? I'm not sure whether to stay at US for a couple of days...

Hi

We have stayed at CSR 3 times now and we love it!

It has brilliant bus transportation too - we have never waited very long. It is a lovely resort and we have never had any trouble with the people there for conventions - in fact we prefer it as buses and pools are empty when there is a large convention. (As you are going last two weeks in September there is normally an IRS conference at that time going by 2006 and 2007).

I would not personally pay extra for a deluxe as you will only be there 10 days and its your first trip.

We are looking at the Contemporary for next year as we are hoping it be our first trip with the baby and walking access to Magic Kingdom seems very appealing - however I can't seem to justify paying nearly double on a room!!

As for booking if you wait till August they may offer 'Free Dining' again on UK packages.

If you have any queries on CSR just ask - a few people on here stay there quite often.

i don't know about 2009, but in 2008, free dining ends on September 20th.
So if they're going for the last two weeks of september, and the schedule is the same as this year, free dining will be over and shouldn't cause a problem...
