My first trip to WDW and DH's first time being arrested (Dec 2009)

I suspect treachery afoot in that envelope. I, too, suspect he was set up. Not to get Rig into trouble, but so that Truck could 'punish' him for leaving the family.

Given Truck's nature from what is described here, I would not be surprised if he were jealous of Rig. Rig had the guts to stand up and say, "It's my life, and I'm going to live it my way. Not yours." Truck didn't, so he has to justify that to himself, by saying Rig 'ran away'.

I am probably in the minority of males following this story, but I am believing it.

No offense to the OP, but I don't believe this Trip Report for one minute. I think the whole thing is made up. Sounds far too sappy.....

Gotta chime in that I agree with this, and not just because it's a sappy love story. There are some inconsistencies and big question marks, and I don't think a 19-year-old first-time writer could write this well (so my disbelief is a compliment, in a way).

It's a good story, but I think it's fiction, and I don't think it's OK to try to pass off fiction as non-fiction.

I agree with you all. I began reading this trip report (the title hooked me) but after the first maybe three posts I thought something was a little fishy. SO after that I started reading other people's comments waiting to see if someone would call her on it. I couldn't believe that people were believing this.

Now, don't get me wrong, I believe in true love and I'm not discouraged that there are men like "Rig" out there and although it is a good read, it really put me off that someone would expect me to believe that they can quote conversations word-for-word from their vacation more than 8 months ago.

Maybe the mods should start a new section called "Trip Stories"!

Mine is Twinky which may sound silly, but I find it cute. Although my DH knows I hate Twinkys. I have sometimes get Pumpkin Head. This actually started as something cute when he called me pumpkin and then one day he added the head part. It is now our joke.

We have been married for 18 years and have know each other for 26 years!

LOL my Mom's nickname is Twinkie too! We started calling her that when we were kids (not in a mean way) because she's sort of flaky at times and she's blonde. So we figured, twinkies are yellow on the outside with cream on the inside, just like her!

She could have kept a journal from their trip and wrote down all the nice things Rig said to her. Or Lee could have a very good memory. I for one belive every part of this story! Lee you are an amazing writer and you are very lucky to have found a man like Rig! I want to find a cowboy when i get older and I hope he has all the qualities Rig has! I cant wait to read more!!

That is funny. The blond hair part is part of why my husband started calling me a Twinkie. I am far from flaky and he knows it but that is why he likes to call me that.

Exactly what I've thought. Too much details of conversations word for word. And to be a new Dis'er, 1st posts, 1st TR???? As another poster mentioned, it may just be an experiment, and I'm anxiously waiting to see how it all ends!

popcorn:: I also am also one who doesn’t care whether it is fact or fiction but enjoying the story. But, I do have to say when I write a trip report I have a lot of trouble recounting the events of my trip in order much less what we said to each other at the time. I would have to take notes every day to be that detailed.

With that said I am still a little upsetat myself because I am ignoring all other posts and subjects and focusing on this one only!! Oh well, I will catch up on the others this weekend…….

Ignore all the haters trying to bring you down! I don't care if this is real or not, it is making for a great read, and I can't wait to read more. I still think you need to start a blog! I could bread about how sweet yall are to each other all day!

I have my suspicions on what was in the envelope, being that it was already crumpled and all, but I don't want to spoil anything if i'm right, and i don't want to make a fool of myself if I'm wrong. ;) I find myself however, rolling things around in my mind as though I am reading a really good book and the plot has just thickened, so I have to figure out who the bad guy is, or what happened next, before reading on. Where is the biting my nails in suspense smiley?????

As for this being a work of fiction...I think Riglee said it best, it doesn't matter if you believe it or not, what matters is that we are all hooked, she is a great writer and has got all of us on the edge of our seat waiting to see what happens next. I myself can remember words and phrases and conversations from years past depending on the moment and if it was something that was, to me, really memorable. Either way, I know I am waiting for the next chapter with bated breath. :cutie:

What does it matter if the conversations are word for word exactly like they were 8 months ago? I'm sure the jist is the same! I know I try to retell a conversation I had earlier in the day and I don't get it word for word exactly the same! I think that if you want to read this TR, whether you believe it or not, then read it. But if you have something negative to say, keep it to yourself. We should never try and tear another person down.

Lee, I am one who does believe your story and I'm loving it! Keep it coming and please don't let the naysayers bring you down. You've got tallent and you've got a great life!

I was shocked to see that no one made any comments like this right away, too. Seeing Lee is a new poster, I was fully expecting "troll" type comments by page two or three. Part of what kept me coming back was to see how long it lasted. I do still enjoy reading it though and I want to hope that it's true. I'd hate to have it confirmed that so many people are just being toyed with to see what they'll believe. I think there's enough detail to confirm that she probably has been there at least. (Or at least spent a ton of time researching that week's weather.) It just may not have happened quite this way?

As for the conversations, that's part of what I didn't get, too. I could understand remembering *some* conversations from ages ago. I can do that easily, but this is whole days' worth of dialogue and that's tough to believe. Lee did admit to adding "dramatic flair" to this TR before, if you missed it.

Aren't arrest records and stuff public knowledge? If anyone is that upset over this, I'm sure you could confirm this incident if you wanted to put the work into it. :rotfl:

Waiting for more!

I tend to agree..

What inconsistencies?

Why couldn't a 19 year old be well educated?

I don't think she was referring to education, I believe she might have been referring somewhat to terms that Lee uses: like "gentlemen's duel" (or something like that she said) as well as talking about Risky Business. I'm 28 and I've seen it several times but my sister is 22 and she and her friends have NEVER seen Risky Business.

There were several other things that stood out to me, all on this playing field. Now, I'm not saying whether the story is true or NOT but I am just trying to speak to some of the reasons why many are doubting the validity of this story.

The other reason being they both claim to not know the park, but then there are so many things she says (disney terms) that seem to come SOOOO natural. It doesn't always add up.

I agree with this too.

I love the story though. Although sometimes I get frustrated seeing so many words on the page with no pictures to break them up, like I'm accustomed to seeing.

And I can't stand when people use the term "haters". For me, I don't hate anyone here, I am just as curious to the end of this story as anyone else. But like a pp stated, I am reading it as more of a novel. I honestly think RigLee is just eating up all this attention from everyone. And whether fact or fiction, she's drawing people in. I think she really is just testing the waters, to see if anyone would like her story...then she'll turn it into a book. Obviously she's already got some followers so I'm sure she will be a successful writer (that is, if she isn't already...)

Oh and one more thing: Lee, is your friend Colt named "Colt Blackwood" by chance? :rolleyes1

I found your trip report the other day and I have been hooked. I love it so much it is hard for me to leave it and come back. I have been very busy with my own little family and our love story (lol) we have an 8 week old, a 19 month old and a 3 yr old. Seriously though, you are a fantastic writer, you write a stroy just like I tell one and if you blog or write a novel, I will be first in line to read it!! I am loving your story so much, that I had to call my sister this morning and I read her the first four pages (lol, that is how crazy I am over it, she is hooked and probably reading it on her own now).

We have a big group of us going to WDW in Sept, this is our second family trip, we went last year and have been saving ever since to be able to go again. I cried (only a few tears) when watching our little ones see the Train full of characters arrive at the station and the opening ceremonies before entering Magic Kingdom, it was definitely a dream come true to be there especially as a family!! I am so happy you and Rig had an amazing time, I will for sure be thinking of you when we are there!!

I can't wait to read more!! Btw, my hubby is the same with the saying I talk too much and have way too many details, he is forever saying to me "Coles notes Lindsay", but when I give him the "coles notes" he asks a hundred questions, so, I just tell it my way lol!! Keep up the great work!!

Hehe soooo true, I am Disney Lindsays sister.. I have been hooked ever since she called me up and read me the first 4 pages!! we were on the phone for over an hour!! lol! Now I am trying to catch up, but I just had to add my 2 cents.. :) (I am only halfway through as of now.) popcorn::
My sister and I are both avid readers, and you got us hooked! (thats a compliment!) keep up the good work!! I can't wait to read on! :surfweb:

Couldn't agree with you more:thumbsup2
My daughters were and still are incredible writers. Some of the papers they wrote in high school blew me away, college papers.... forget it even blew me away further!

Got to work this morning and first thing I did was come here to see what I missed. :surfweb: My suspicions were partly right. They were both arrested and in my opinion, neither one won the fight, but it didn't happen where I expected it to. So I would've won and lost part of my bets. :lmao: Truck may have roughed up Rig pretty good, but Rig did a good job defending himself. They both lost the fight, because they both landed up in jail. Too bad Truck had to be the way he is. We know people like this as well. They get pleasure by putting other people down. Shame. :sad2:

Gotta agree with other posters here. Is it real? I believe it is. Other people have confirmed the rain on that particular day. Sounds likes one poster on here might even be the poster that was holding their camera on Splash Mountain. Someone mentioned inconsistencies. What inconsistencies? If there are some, I haven't noticed any. Her story has been flowing nicely.

How can someone recall their conversations word for word? I can recall conversations from years ago. DW and I often bring up memories from the past, and often the conversations that went with them. It's been 4 years since DW and I last went to WDW. I was like Rig in a way on that trip. I had been to WDW, and my cuppycake hadn't. I often caught myself watching her as we were walking through WDW.

The one memory I have the most is watching her see the ocean for the first time at Daytona beach. I took her on her birthday. I can still recall the look of amazement on her face as she looked out over the ocean. The big hug and kiss I got being there with her. Walking along the beach collecting sea shells and playing in the water. So I believe a story like Lee's is very real.

Lee you are a wonderful writer. Your TR is wonderful. Now hurry up and post the next chapter. We're all wondering what's in the envelope. Hopefully you found out what was in there.

Well, I didn't call riglee on whether or not it was real because I want her to keep writing, rather than argue about it. It's fun. Other than that, I accept it for what it is; a series of posts on an internet forum. It might be underhanded (assuming it is fiction, or that there is a liberal amount of massaging), if there was profit or sales involved, but there is not. You get what you pay for... or in this case, I would argue, you get more.

Be it fiction or non-fiction, if it excites your mind's eye, it is time well spent reading. In this instance, the milieu, that is is written where it is, is part of the generation of the fun; it helps the imagination. It comes into the community and uses the community to help the reader bind to the author. IMO that's pretty good; I like it. It is very imaginative, outside the box.

So...you're only allowed to write something on this board if it's happy and "positive"??
I haven't read anyone tearing anyone down. What I have read is people posting their opinions- just like they do on every other topic on this board.

I could have said the exact same thing! I like the style of this report. I have read so many "we went to Space Mountain, then it rained, then we ate at Pecos Bill's..." I mean, it gets old. This TR has style and flair. I also agree about the conversations. I don't go into this reading it as exactly what was said, but the sentiment and feeling. People with so much negativity and skepticism should just move on if it is not something they are interested in. I have never understood why people have such a need to bring others down.

r1lissa: Of course you are allowed to post negative, dissenting comments. My question is your reasoning behind it. No one, not even the OP is asking you to believe the trip report. But, why post negative opinions? This is just a fun forum for Disney lovers, no need for negativity.

I think this report is great, Lee! I can't wait to read more!
