Day Eight: Blizzard Beach and Cirque
June 13, 2002

Got up and around by about 8:30am so that we could get to Blizzard Beach early. We were all pretty unresponsive as we were just tired! We ate a quick breakfast and then went out to wait for a bus. Well....we watched two buses go by that were slam packed with people. We finally got on the third one and were smooshed all together. They really need another bus for Animal Kingdom or something! Yikes! We got there and boy it was a hot day! We rented towels and then went to find a place to sit. We happened to find three chairs over by the wave pool so we put our stuff down and went to find a map of the place. We ended up hopping on the lazy river first and that was enjoyable. We really liked it! We didn't go all the way around though, we got off near the entrance to the Teamboat Springs so we could ride the raft ride. We got in line for that and didn't actually wait too long..probably 20 minutes or so. We shared our raft with another father and son. It was pretty fun, although I'm not much of a waterslide person, so it did scare me a little ;) I always felt like we were going to tip over! All in all it was pretty fun though. They took our picture at the bottom too. We got off of that and Erika and Mike decided to try Slusher Gusher. I did not want to pursue this slide so I waited at the bottom. I waited for probably 40 minutes! I could feel my shoulders roasting...ouch! I am somewhat fair skinned and had not put sunblock on so I knew what was coming my way. Finally Mike came down and he really ramped off that third hill! It was pretty funny! Erika not so much but both of them said they felt their bodies float and they didn't know what to do. Definitely not for me :) Erika decided to pass on Summit Plummet because the wait was nearly double and she didn't think it would be worth it. Then we hopped back on the lazy river to take us around to the Lottawatta Lodge for some food. They had different choices here but I stuck with the plain old cheeseburger. Erika got a chicken wrap type of thing and she liked it pretty well. I cannot remember exactly, but I think Mike may have gotten a chicken sandwich. We were lucky to have found a table! We let our food settle a bit and then once again headed back to the lazy river. I could do that all day, I swear! How relaxing! One of the CM's saw me trying to avoid the ice cold water stream and he leaned over and pushed my tube right in it! Do you believe that? I screamed because it was so cold! We rode around quite a ways this time, probably a bit more than the whole way. We ended up getting off to try the racing slides where you lay face down on the mat. I was a little nervous but it wasn't too bad. Mike beat us, but I beat Erika ;) They then decided to do the slide where you use intertubes and there are two at a time racing. I decided to sit it out. They came FLYING down....looked like fun, but I probably would have freaked out! By then my shoulders and neck were just aching! We headed over to get our stuff and we stopped into the Lodge to see our photo and it was pretty cute! I ended up buying it. Mike wanted to mini golf at Winter Summerland, but we ended up not because we didn't know if we'd finish in time before Cirque. So we hopped on the bus and went back to the Boardwalk. We began getting ready and it was a good thing we didn't golf! We got on the bus around 4:45 and ended up not getting to the PI stop around 5:25! We were supposed to be there by 5:30! We got some food before the show and hurried to our seats. Boy did we have great seats. I called on the very day they were available so we had the best seats in the house. Row AA Sec 203 seats 16, 17, & 18. They were great. The show started. The beginning part was kind of weird and I didn't quite know what to think. I could tell Erika was like what is this?? It ended up getting immensely better and Mike just loved it, I could tell. Erika still seemed to just think it was ok. She was somewhat distracting because she would either giggle or whisper something to me so it was harder for me to enjoy it. The Asian girls were so good. We all really enjoyed that part! All the acts were great, but I think the Asian girls and the trampolining was the best. Time flew! Before we knew it the show was over! Mike just raved about it. I honestly didn't know if he would like it...it's kind of artsy but he thinks it was well worth the money, and in fact wants to try the show that is coming here. After that we headed back to the Marketplace to buy our last minute goodies. We went to the World of DIsney store and I got the 100 YOM DVD, a scrapbook, a couple frames, a nightgown for Mike's mom and a deck of cards. Erika got a few things too. We were really craving ice cream but the line for Ghiradelli was forever so we just said forget it and got on the bus. When it let us off at the Boardwalk we went to Seashore Sweets and got sundaes...YUM. Then we headed back to the room to pack :( It took forever as we had been there quite a while. I finished packing at 11:30 or so and both Mike and Erika were already dead asleep :o I decided to go sit out on my Boardwalk view balcony and just enjoy it before I left. And that's exactly what I did. I sat out there for about an hour and just watched people and soaked it all up. Who knows if I will ever get that view again?? It was so hard to go to bed, but when I did I was out like a rock.

likes to make me go through the cold water streaming down on me.....he is soooo fun....haha....thanks so much for your great report....having fun is alot of work.....
