My first time as a "Grown Up!" March 2011

must say those pretzel sticks look so yummy.....wetzel pretzel in DTD are pretty amazing as well.

On our last trip, I don't know why but I found the words "Wetzel's Pretzel" really fun to say so I decided to make my mom say "Wetzel's Pretzel" 5 times fast while I recorded it on video. Ha ha ha! Yeah, I'm a bit strange.

you two are deffinetly a couple of hams when it comes to your pics.....love it thought....some people are so ridgid in there pics but you can tell you two are havin fun with it

Yeah, we are total photo hams sometimes. I guess after a while we got tired of having all these "nice" photos of us so we decided to mix things up a bit.

I'm here! Great TR so far!!! :thumbsup2 I LOVE POP! I've never stayed there but it looks like so much fun!! :yay: I've gotta stay there one day! :) Can't wait for more!popcorn::

Yeah, Pop was really fun! It really appealed to my love and fascination of pop culture.

So sorry! Didn't realize you had started this already! I know what you mean about not wanting TR's to end, that is one of the reasons I always take so long writing mine.

I love the report so far, your pictures are great and I love how you guys have fun with the camera. Looking forward to more. :thumbsup2

I think a lot of people take long for that reason. I guess that's why so many people put real life updates into their TRs as well...to kind of stretch it just a little bit longer.

Ny DD has that Mulan set too. She really has never watched Mulan yet, but she likes those sets and has most of the characters.

I saw those baby ducks at Pop too. Weren't they so cute. Here's one I took. They were up by the smoking section. I guess momma duck need a break. LOL!

tinyducks.jpg

Your comment about the duck needing a smoke break actually made me LoL in real life! :rotfl2:

LOL! I always wondered what those cigarette pack looking things were.

Your pretzels look amazing. Going to have to try the cinnamon dipped one!

Can tell you both were really having fun! Pop century is such a fun resort!

I'm actually just kind of guessing that they are speakers. They don't really look speaker like but I have no idea what else they could possibly be!

just finished reading and LOVE IT so far:love::cool1::banana: Can't wait for more!popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::Oh and i LOVE Mulan too!!:lovestruc

YES!! Mulan is awesome!!

Lovin' all of the pictures in your report! Makes me want to go back home and SOON!!!

Me too!!!

Looks like you had a lot of fun at DTD. The pretzel rods you made looked delicious! I am SO jealous of your sisters bag, I contemplated getting that same one when I went but couldn't bring myself to spend that much. YAY for Mulan merchandise!! They really do need more though:sad2:
And I'm pretty sure I know that Woody meme your talking about, definitely not family friendly:laughing: I still love Woody though, he's my favorite. Those Sani-Wipes are a good idea too, I should definitely think to bring some of those next time.

Omg aren't the images hilariously disturbing! :lmao: Yeah, sani-wipes are definetley a good idea...especially for a germophobe like me. Also, I've watched one too many specials about the horrors of hotel room cleanliness and they really freaked me out!

I could eat it!

 But it's a work of art!!! :rotfl: Eh, I guess it's the same concept as eating one of those really pretty wedding cakes.

I am from the Facebook group, plus I am the moderator on this board.

You sure had a long flight.

You should do a house trade when you go to WDW, you. Would get your money back 10 fold. but then again I don't know if I would want anyone staying in my house.

You sure had a long first day.

Haha! I don't think I'd feel comfortable with a stranger in my house...even if it meant a cheaper trip.

I'm here and just started reading! I LOVE that first picture of you and your sister - you guys must have had so much fun together!

You're so right about the TR and when it's over. I swear that's why I'm taking my own sweet time with mine. We're very tenatively planning on a few days at Disneyland as part of a trip out west in 2013 so I have no idea when we're make it back to the World. Such a depressing thought. :(

Yeah, the thought of not having any possible Disney World trips in the near future lined up id definetley depressing. At least you'll possibly have a little bit of a way to satisfy your Disney Fix though. I definetley prefer Disney World in the long run but there are some cool things at Disneyland that they don't have in the World such as the Indiana Jones ride or the BETTER Pirates of the Caribbean.

That's funny :lmao: because we have the same struggle over the thermostat. The boy's want it freezing cold, :confused3 so they call the service man to come in and change the temperature. I just bring my flannel pajamas and blanket with me to stay warm. I hate  being cold!!

Urg, I hate being cold too. But I guess it's easier to put more layers on than it is to take layers off.

yOUR TRIP REPORT IS GREAT...SUB

Thank you!

Enjoying the read! Keep it coming...love all of your photos.

Thanks! I have another update coming right after....THIS.

Day 3.1

March 17, 2011

Woke up at 6:12 a.m. even though the alarm was set for 6:30 a.m. Got ready and headed to the Magic Kingdom which opened at 8:00 for Extra Magic Hours. This was our first time ever NOT starting off our trip with the Animal Kingdom. It was a nice change. I feel like the Magic Kingdom evokes more happy feelings than the Animal Kingdom does. It was a better way to kick off the trip. Anyway, Kris and I were both super excited. In all our excitement, we ended up getting yelled at by a worker because we were apparently entering the Magic Kingdom the wrong way or something. Haha oops!

IMG_1074.jpg

Took this on the way to the bus stop. This was the only dark shot of Pop I got the entire trip. :sad2: Wanted to take more but we ran out of time.

IMG_1077.jpg

Bus mirror pic!

Got to the gates in time for the morning show. It was so awesome! I seriously almost started to tear up, right there at the gate. The morning was really foggy. It was so bad that when we got onto Main Street, you couldn’t even see the castle in the distance! It was like they got rid of it! I wish I had taken a picture of it because it was just so surreal. Alas, in all the excitement of our first park day, I just didn’t think to take out my camera. As we got farther and farther up Main Street, Cinderella’s castle slowly came into view. It was a really cool effect. It made the castle seem very mystical. I was so glad that I couldn’t see a construction crane in the castle background. I knew they were doing construction on Fantasyland and was worried that there would be one there and it would somehow crap up any castle pictures.

IMG_1083.jpg

IMG_1084.jpg

The first ride we rode was Dumbo. Kris and I don’t particularly care much for this ride but we both wanted to get a photo of us on Dumbo so we rode it just for that purpose. It was really cool to be able to see all the Fantasyland expansion construction going on behind the walls. I also liked the fact that the walls were decorated prettily…not just one blah-tastic solid color. After Dumbo, we did Peter Pan. I swear, that queue is the most deceitful queue you will ever come across. It looks way shorter than it really is.

IMG_1091.jpg

Took this while waiting in line for Dumbo. I dunno...I guess I was trying to look Princess-y or something.

IMG_1088.jpg

IMG_1094.jpg

IMG_1096.jpg

"Like ohh mah god I'm on Dumbo!!!!!"

IMG_1103.jpg

IMG_1107.jpg

IMG_1110.jpg

After Peter Pan, we did Splash Mountain. We were one of the first people to get on the ride, as there were only a few people in front of us and we walked through the entire queue without stopping. I kind of wish I was able to though. I don’t enjoy waiting in long lines but sometimes it’s nice to take in the visuals. Plus, having no wait time didn’t give me any time to put on my poncho. I had to awkwardly slip it on while I was already on the ride. Anyway, Kris and I got put in the first row. I was a little bit nervous because I had never ridden in the first row before. The dudes behind us asked if we wanted to switch with them but I said no. Those dudes made me nervous. Not in a creepy way or anything but they kept coughing and I was afraid they were going to get me sick! But anyway, Splash Mountain was fun. I’ve gotten to like it more and more every time I go back to any Disney park. I used to hate the drop but it’s not so bad anymore.

IMG_1113.jpg

IMG_1112.jpg

In the pretty much non-line.

IMG_1114.jpg

Look at that kid behind Kris totally trying to bomb our photo!

IMG_1116.jpg

IMG_1129.jpg

IMG_1130.jpg

Just outside of Splash Mountain, Mickey and Minnie were meeting for photos so we did that. It was a short wait. I didn’t think I would be that excited to meet them but I was just gushing! My voice went all high and little girl-like. I even blew them a kiss goodbye when they blew me one - ha ha ha!

IMG_1121.jpg

Haha! Yeah...i dunno...somehow taking a picture like this amused me.

IMG_1124.jpg

After meeting Minnie and Mickey, we rode Thunder Mountain. The line said it was a 30 minute wait but it wasn't that long. It was more fun than I remember it being. But what happened to the goat with the dynamite in his mouth? Were they refurbishing him? Or was he only in the Disneyland version? Hmm...

IMG_1136.jpg

Whenever we go to WDW we always start our trip at MK and have either lunch or dinner at pecos bills and we seem to almost always end our trip in MK and like you said about the crane being in the shot of the castle, it was there the last time we went and it ruined some pics.

Awesome update. I really love that castle picture, it looks so cool all misty in the background, I've never seen in that way before but I really like it! That sneaky kid in the back of your Splash Mountain pic is hilarious. It's kind of annoying when people do that, but you just gotta laugh at it, they definitely make trip photos more interesting:laughing:
And I love your meet with Mickey and Minnie, so cute!! I've never seen them wear that outfit before either, it's adorable.

Ok, I just got totally caught up. :) I have to say - I always, always, always wanted a sister growing up and your TR makes me wish that even more. You can just tell how much fun you guys had together! (I ended up with a stinky brother.)

I had to google the Woody meme and I am laughing my butt off!! :rotfl:

Love the shot of the Rubik's Cube in the dark - very cool! I also like the shot of you 2 in front of the foggy castle - I've also never seen it like that and it looks kind of cool.

The trip just doesn't feel "real" to me if I don't start at the MK, I can see why you were excited!! Even if it means totally going against touring plans, I have to start and end the trip there.

:) I have never seen the castle like that. Was it cooler than normal that day? My DH will retake the picture till no one is in it. We had rode Test Track about about 10 times before we got a picture with just our family in it, he drove us all crazy that day.

Fabulous update. You two look like a a lot of fun to hang with!

Ready for more! Very nifty 'hazy castle' photo. STILL haven't been able to talk myself onto Splash Mountain, so I always enjoy seeing others' photos of their adventure. Foolish mortals. LOL.

I love how you guys are posing in the pictures! Looks like you had a blast:cool1:

Lovely pictures :)

Thank you!

Oh noes! I guess that just means you have a good excuse to go back to take some better ones. :)

LOVE THE UPDATE!:banana::cheer2:

Thank you!

It was a little chilly in the morning but as soon as we started walking, the chilliness went away. Haha, I am kind of like your husband! I hate it when too many random people are in my photos.

Fabulous update. You two look like a a lot of fun to hang with!

Thank you! I'd like to think we are.

Ready for more! Very nifty 'hazy castle' photo. STILL haven't been able to talk myself onto Splash Mountain, so I always enjoy seeing others' photos of their adventure. Foolish mortals. LOL.

You have to try it some day! The drop really isn't that bad at all and its over so quickly!

I love how you guys are posing in the pictures! Looks like you had a blast:cool1:

Thanks! We definetley did!

Great pics, can't wait to see/read more!

Great! Because I am posting an update right after THIS.

Day 3.2

March 17, 2011

So after Thunder Mountain, we made our way to Liberty Square. On the way, we saw Donald. His line was short so we took a picture with him. The sun was beaming down in such a way that the only way to not have the sun in your eyes for the photo was to have our backs to the people in line instead of the backdrop. I mentioned that this totally opened us up to possible photo bombs but luckily no one in line did anything crazy.

IMG_1137.jpg

But look! What lights come yonder.

IMG_1140.jpg

See how our backs are facing the queue instead of the backdrop?

IMG_1138.jpg

Kris, talking about the Haunted Mansion.

We then did Haunted Mansion. Most of the queue was covered up because they were getting the new queue ready. You weren't able to see any of the tombstones. I was a little bummed to see everything all covered up but the tarps were down by the end of the trip. They were also renovating the hitchhiking ghosts. There was a screen covering the part where you see the ghost in your buggy. There was only a projection of the ghosts floating by. Disappointing...but eh...what can you do?

IMG_1141.jpg

IMG_1143.jpg

Kris and I had a run in with some Disney thugs and they stuck us there for a bit. Bwa ha ha! This whole Disney Thugs thing was something we joked about with our mom before we left. She was so paranoid for our safety even though we are both legally adults. We joked around that they Disney thugs were going to get us because she wasn't there to protect us.

IMG_1145.jpg

IMG_1146.jpg

We had Fast Passes for the Pooh ride so we went there to use them. I kind of wish I had stood in the regular line though. The interactive queue was really cool. I loved the interactive honey!

IMG_1149.jpg

The spelling on this picture amused me.

IMG_1152.jpg

This picture also amused me somehow.

IMG_1159.jpg

Who is Sanders?

IMG_1158.jpg

After the ride, Kris just had to take a picture with this wall.

IMG_1160.jpg

IMG_1162.jpg

Crab fight!

IMG_1163.jpg

Her dream castle?

After that, we headed for Tomorrowland. The first thing we did was get Fast Passes for Space Mountain. Then we saw the Carousel of Progress. I love that show...I don't care that it gets more and more outdated as the years go by. The TV screen that showed the play through of the grandma's video game wasn't on. I thought maybe this was a budget cut of some sort.

IMG_1167.jpg

We didn't ride this but how could you not take a picture with it?

IMG_1169.jpg

LOVE THIS!

IMG_1171.jpg

IMG_1173.jpg

IMG_1174.jpg

IMG_1175.jpg

IMG_1177.jpg

Just so you guys know, I didn't use flash to take these pictures.

IMG_1178.jpg

So yeah, the grandma was playing the video game but the screen wasn't actually working!

After the show was over, I heard the Cha Cha Slide comming from the stage area so we headed over there. Chip and Dale were out dancing so I Cha Cha Slided for a little bit. Ha ha ha! It's a fun song! We then got photos with Buzz Lightyear. I have never had my photo taken with him before so this was a new experience for me. Kristina was a little iffy about his wait but the line wasn't even that long and besides, we had 8 more days, we had all the time in the world!

IMG_1182.jpg

Took that while waiting in line.

IMG_1184.jpg

IMG_1197.jpg

We saw so many photo pass people taking castle shots that we got tired of taking nice castle pics. We decided to ham it up.

Great update. I love COP too. My kids not so much but I do try to ride it once every trip.

Great update and pics! I love the pic at the Carousel of Progress sign. The arms really line up great with the signs poles! Was this planned?! Love the ham it up castle pic too! You two make Disney look like so much fun!

Not sure where my post ended up?? Love the update and pics! The pic at the carousel of Progress sign in one of my favorites. Her arms are lined up perfectly with the poles of the sign. Was this planned?! Also love your ham it up at the castle pic! You two make Disney look so fun!!

For as many times that I have been on HM I have never seen that stone wall with all the wives on it.:confused3

Super fun update!! Sorry to see those Disney thugs got you though. ;)

I missed the hitch hiking ghosts and the tombstones in line too.

I'm jealous that you met Buzz! We didn't see him at all this trip and last trip got to the line just as he was leaving. Cute pic with him too!
