I have gone to WDW 4 times in the last 3 years but this is my first solo trip. On my previous trips we tried to hit all the "not to be missed" dining experience like Chef mickeys, villains dinner (i will miss that!) Rose & crown for illuminations etc...

This trip I want to try different restaurants including maybe some resorts that I usually wouldnt have time to do. While i am a little nervous about dining alone at a sit down I am willing to suck it up and get through it.

Any suggestions?

Don't worry about sitting down alone at a sit-down restaurant here. I do it all the time when I'm at the parks on my days off.

If you want to try the resorts, give the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club a try. I recommend that one to guests (and DIS) who ask for a place to get away from the crowd for a while.

Have a wonderful trip and a safe journey to Orlando.

I ws once hestitant about dining solo, but once I did it--it was no problem! Part of the joy of going solo is that you can eat anywhere you want! The CM's are great and most likely will chat with you a bit. I usually see others alone, so there's no reason to feel uncomfortable. I agree with Otimon regarding the Yachtsman--it's great! If you're not a steak person (I'm not), they have wonderful fish and other items on the menu. I also like the Coral Reef at Epcot. Artist's Point at WL is also very nice--very relaxing... The California Grille at CR has great food and such a view! Have a great trip!

I like the BC for breakfast - Cape May Cafe it is character - but I really like the food.

Here are a few you might want to think about. May will be the 7th solo since I started counting.
Akershus at Norway in Epcot is always on my must do list. The servers have been great and treat a solo diner wonderfully. Never have been rushed or led to a back area.
Matsunoma lounge at Japan in Epcot. This is a place to spend some time just watching people walk by. I usually get a window seat about 1/2 hour before sunset to watch the park change from day to night. It is a well-spent hour. Right after sunset I make a dash for the exit.
Tune-In bar attached to 50's Prime Time cafe at MGM. For some reason I really like the Meatloaf at 50's but as a solo want nothing to do with the entertainment portion of the restaurant. So I sit at the Bar order my meatloaf with double mashed (no veggies) without the scolding that would accompany that order. You can order from the full 50's menu at Tune-In. This one is kind of a secret so shhhhh.
For a great break at MK try Aunt Pollys over at Tom Sawyers Island. Only sandwich fare but a really nice view. Got stuck there in Sept. during a 2 hour deluge and had a very dry relaxing time.
I can't help with resort dining other than CG because I don't go to these very often.
Oh just my opinion but getting PS's on a solo trip are never needed. I have no idea when or where I will be and the longest wait ever was 20 minutes this past Xmas week at Mama Melrose for dinner. They seem to find one and two a table quickly parkwide.

I'll second having a lazy lunch at Aunt Polly's at MK - nice and relaxed, with inexpensive food. Also, the day I went to MK I stopped for breakfast on the way at Kona Cafe at the Polynesian - nice breakfast, not crowded at all.

Do they still serve cold fried chicken at Aunt Polly's ? It WAS so good 3 or 4 years ago when I was there last ..........

Try Marrakesh in Morocco for a really off the beaten path place. The food, service and entertainment are great. It's usually easy to get a seating too.
