hi guys! so i guess i should introduce myself...this is not only my first "trip report" but it is also my first post as a DISboard member=)
Okay! My name is Megan i'm 20 years old & I have been dating my boyfriend, Andrew for almost five years! we are high school sweethearts guess you could say=) we are both HUGE disney fanatics & can't wait for our trip in March! (the 8th-14th!)

This trip has been long awaited! Our last trip to Disney was with my family in March of '07. It was a early graduation present from my parents & Andrew & I's first Disney trip together. We had both been several times before. Since then we have been dying to go back! We were supposed to go back last year but things didn't work out so we were determined to make it happen in '09 & with Disney, dreams do come true=)

I hope i'm not boring you yet! lol!

Anyhow we will be traveling with DB's (disney boyfriend, right?? haha i'm new at this!) sister & her boyfriend who are a few years older than the two of us (we are both 20.) We will be doing some of the parks with the four of us and some separately as couples! This is just an introduction to everything! I hope to post again soon & hopefully by then i will know our itinerary as well as which parks we will be doing alone as a couple and which one's we will be together for!!

I would post a picture but it says I can't at the moment=(

xoxo Megan

Hi, Megan. I can't wait to read more about planning and visiting WDW from a 20 y-o point-of-view.

I did it once, but that was just a COUPLE of years ago.:rotfl:

DH (I like your "Disney" explanation for the "D"), DD8 and DS2 are going in March with Fave Aunt and Uncle. We're staying at Pop Century.

I could fill up your thread with this, but there's no reason. I've started my own PreTrip Report. Like you, I can't post links yet, so just search for my id: DisneyGalAlways

Suggestion: to be able to start posting links, etc. Wander around and leave comments/post replies on other threads to get your post count up to 10. It also builds the community and your sense of belonging to it.

Later tater!

thanks for all the great suggestions!
i'll be heading over to your PTR to check that out!!
cant wait!

okay so DB's sister & her boyfriend both work at the same restaurant. Apparently their manager isn't the nicest to say the least! He is having real issues with the two of them both requesting off 8 days for our trip:sad1:
so it looks like now they will only be able to make it up there for about 4 days.
with this being said, DB & i will head up on the 7th as planned & then they will meet us sometime later in the week!
however, i think this will be nice for DB & I..just the two of us!
only problem being, i know my parents won't approve.
last year when plans with some friends of ours fell through i begged and begged to let us go by ourselves & they wouldnt budge.
after last years plans falling through i am not about to cut this trip in half! DB mom is totally cool with us going by ourselves for a few days and then his sister and her boyfriend meeting up with us later in the week! now i know all the mama's on here are going to have a fit but i'm not going to tell my parents. i know if i told them our dilemma they wouldn't allow it. & as i said before...i am NOT giving up half my week at disney! besides we had already planned on taking two separate cars anyways:thumbsup2
on another note...has anyone ever stayed at Hawthorne Suites Lake Buena Vista??? everyone on expedia, travelocity etc seems to give it great reviews and apparently it's about two miles from the WDW gates & about a mile from DTD:cheer2:

okay so hopefully this works!!
here's a picture of us...i think it was our second anniversary!
yeah, yeah i know we're going on our 5th (it will be on July 28th '09)...but sadly after almost 5 years together we have very little pictures together:guilty:
this is partially because i dont own a camera!!
i'm trying to save up for one before our trip!

so like i said...we look slighty older now but this gives you the basic idea LOL!

so turns out we are changing hotels with less than a month until we leave & also our dates (just slightly;) )
we are now leaving a day early making our trip the March 7th-14th!
& as for our hotel, we will be staying in Royale Parc which was supposedly newly renovated in'07!
it's just a better deal for a little extra money! this way we have a two bedroom two bath suite! & it's a mile away from WDW/DTD:cheer2:
i know they altered the picture, adding the fireworks & such but i think it just looks "magical" even if it's not on WDW property lol! the next best thing:goodvibes

Hi! Just found your PTR...your hotel looks really nice! Can't wait to hear more details about your trip!!

thank you!!
i'm new to this thing! i need to do an update!
i've actually been reading your engagement TR! congratulations!!

this trip is getting sooo close! i am beyond excited!
DB (who loves disney as much as i do) is even starting to get sick of hearing me talk about it:lmao:
on saturday, March 7th..we're going to get an early start! we haven't exactly figured out what time we're going to leave. Neither of us are big morning people but I am by far the worst! but trust me, if disney is involved i will gladly hop out of bed:rotfl:
even though we live in florida it is still quite a trip! 7-8 hours depending on traffic and how fast you're willing to drive:laughing:
Hopefully we'll get there at 5 or 6ish. DB and I then plan on heading to DTD for the remainder of the night to kick off our WDW vacation :cheer2:
We will also be eating dinner there and I want to either go to Wolfgang Puck Express or Earl of Sandwhich.

DB has eaten at WPE and loved it! I have been to neither but read great reviews from both...what do you think??
Then I want to go to Goofy's Candy Company to do a make your own dessert!

I'm really excited about this because all the pictures look delicious!!
Anyone ever been to the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain?? I never hear anyone talk about it!! i've never been there but I do love their chocolate candy!!
I am also hoping it make it over to Kona's for some Tonga Toast. MMMM!!

Is it possible to crave something you've never tasted?? Ever since i've seen the pics from other DISers I have been dying to try some!! Hopefully i'll be able to drag myself out of bed early enough to do so:thumbsup2
Until the next post..
xoxo

thank you!!

Thanks, my TR is actually how I found you...thanks for reading!

We went to Ghiradelli Soda Fountain at DTD on our trip. It was my second time trying it...soooo amazing, you should go! I had a chocolate chip cookies sundae and it was the best. If you like their chocolate, you will LOVE their hot fudge!! That will be in my next update, I wish I had taken a picture of it to share.

And you can totally crave things you've never I had before, I do it all the time reading people reports...Earl of Sandwich happens to be one of those things, they look so yummy we want to try that on our next trip too!

Great start. But I can't beleive your parents think they have a say in a 20 year olds choices of vacation and who she goes with. Of course I was a mother a few weeks before I turned 20, so I guess I think of it that way.
I agree, why bother telling them. I wouldn't say much about the trip to them. do you live with them?
I love Earl of Sandwich. We went last year, and I'm trying to figure out some time to make it over to DTD just to get a sandwich. LOL!

Thanks, my TR is actually how I found you...thanks for reading!

I wondered how it was. You kind of answered it for me. I do NOT like there chocolate, so I bet I might not be a big fan there then. LOL!

:rotfl: Yes then I do not recommend anything with their chocolate in it...but their ice cream is awesome too. My brother got a milkshake and loved it so I'm sure you could still find something you like!

i have never had earl of sandwich either! but everyone's pics make me want one of their sandwich's SO bad! thanks for all the info on Ghiradelli! i'm going to try and make it over there sometime during the week:)

Thanks for being supportive and making me feel better about the situation lol! i still live with them but i will literally be moving out as soon as i get back from disney! i'm actually going to be getting my own house so right now i'm in the process of fixing it up a little and painting so that's why i haven't already moved!

& wow i WISH i didn't like chocolate! LOL!

Well I love chocolate, JUST not theirs. At least the ones I have bought and tasted around here. I'm really picky though. I love russel stovers, and dove, and a few others. I can eat a hersheys, but I don't think it is that great, but add almond and I'm all over it. LOL! I do like snickers and that kind of stuff though, where the chocalte is mixed with lots of other goodies. Ok, now I'm getting hungry! LOL!

We're having my b-day party tonight (combined with my sisters) for the family and my choice of cake is cheesecake. Can't wait!
I used to get an icecream cake every year (whilte with vanilla icecream, don't do chocolate there either) and it was so good, but I decided alst year to change to cheesecake. Boy did I step on toes. LOL! Most everyone was mad at me for not getting the icecream cake anymore. I told them they could chose it for their b-days as well, and my oldest DD did!

HAHA that's really funny about the whole cheesecake ordeal! i really want some cheescake now:lmao: & yeah i totally know what you mean about being picky with chocolate! i'm kinda that way too although i do like Ghiradelli but it's not my fave! i just thought the soda fountain looked cute in pictures so i thought i'd check it out although everyone has raved about wolfgang puck express' icecream with brownie chunks! i LOVE brownies so maybe i'll just skip the soda fountain all together and stick with Goofy's Candy Company & Woflgang's for dessert:goodvibes not all on the same night of course:rotfl:

Man, I haven't updated this thing in awhile! I promise my actual Trip Report will be far more interesting:thumbsup2

But until then...i'm stuck anxiously awaiting the morning of March 7th and writing my little pre-trip report:goodvibes

So I'm super excited because I finally got a camera! I had been mentioning to my dad that I was interested in the Sony Cybershot, mostly because I have a Mac laptop and I hear these are very compatible and easy to use with iPhoto! The other day he walked in the door and he surprised me with one!!

The only downfall is that it is red however, it kind of looks more on the hot pink side in some ways:rolleyes:

My dad is a retired Lieutenant Commander in the Navy so he got it at the Navy base so of course it was tax exempt & a better price. He said red was the only color they had left and it really doesn't bother me that much anyhow. If anything, it makes it more unique:yay:With this being said, I decided not to return it because chances are they won't have any silver ones in stock before we leave anyways!

Anyone ever used this camera...or used it with a Macbook laptop?? It took me all of about 5 minutes to get the basics of it down. I'm really looking forward to putting it to some good use in WDW for some great pictures, especially for my Trip Report:cheer2:

Speaking of the Navy base..on Monday (fingers crossed) DB & I will be meeting my dad on base to get our Disney tickets. They have some really great deals on Disney for active & retired military that even I can take advantage of since I have a family member who was in the service. I will be buying everyone's tickets so they can get the deal too:)

The lady my dad talked to quoted our tickets (5 day hopper) at $150 but that included adding on the water parks. We won't be doing any of the water parks so it will be even less than that!

We will also be going to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure for a day! I really enjoy it there but of course, nothing compares to WDW! The last time DB & I went to Universal we were there about the time the gates opened and we were done with BOTH parks (Universal & Islands) by around 6! I don't know about you all but we could stay at ONE Disney park ALL DAY & STILL not do everything we want LOL!

Oh & I got some interesting news...a friend of mine from high school is in the Disney College Program and she works at Cosmic Rays! How cool is that?? Needless to say she said it took the "magic" away. As much as I LOVE Disney I too think working there would take the appeal away. For instance, I work at Kohls. I used to LOVE shopping there but now that I work there I can't stand it. I never want to hate Disney! That's would be such a nightmare! I think it's best that I don't move to Orlando in hopes of getting a job:rotfl:

This was super long! Congratulations if you stayed with me this whole time:lmao: I think it shows I should update more often so I don't talk (or type) your ears off all at once:laughing:
Until next time! xoxoxo

I kept up with you! :rotfl2:

Sounds like you will be getting a great deal on tickets.
I forget where yo usaid you are staying, I suppose it I just look back in t he post I could find out. LOL!

I know our time is getting close. Less than 2 weeks. I looked at accuweather and the week before is supposed to be 80's, and so far the week of is looking good too. Of course for you it's no big deal, but I live in Ohio where our buttts are freezing off!
