My First EVER DIS Pre-Trip Report!!

Okay, I have read tons of these trip reports, and of course I have read Zurg’s and Delswife’s FAMOUS reports. I am not too sure that I can live up to those, but I am willing to give it a try! J

Cast:
ME: Totally obsessed Disney Lover. I am a Disney Commando. I have tried (okay, not really) to take Disney at a slow pace, but, it’s Disney, I can’t control myself. The whole 12 step thing just wasn’t working for me, you know?
DH: Disney Lover…undercover. He loves it, I know it, he knows I know it, but it is NOT something we discuss. He thinks I am obsessive when it comes to Disney, and he is right! (of course he is my accomplice and source of money, not that he gets to hold it, he just earns it and he is fine with that deal.)
DD 6: Mini-Disney Lover. This will be her second trip. Also, as a 6 year old, she knows EVERYTHING, or at least she thinks she does.
DD5: The middle child. (And everything that comes with it, “Marcia, Marcia Marcia). Loves Sleeping Beauty and anything PINK!
DS4: Loves Buzz Lightyear. (Has been Buzz 3 years in row for Halloween. -At least I got my moneys worth on his costume). Also tends to be the most like Stitch. Leaves destruction in his path, with a cute smile.

The Plan:
We are heading to WDW 2/25 - 3/2. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge with our AP rates, two rooms. This was decided during our last trip to WDW.

A little tangent here if I may to explain…we stayed at POR for 10 nights. All 5 of us in ONE room. That’s right, 10 nights +5 people on top of each other and all the stuff that comes with them at WDW in 1 SMALL room = miserable DH. After our 10 days on our own, we moved to a 2 bedroom WL villa with my DB. The only problem there was that we felt at the mercy of DB and his family, since all 5 of us were in one bedroom of the villa. My DN slept on the pull out couch while DB and SIL slept in the master bedroom. DN wanted to have ONE of my kids sleep with her, with all the lights on. NO way was that going to happen. I hear all the screaming and crying and “WHY DOES SHE GET TO SLEEP THERE’s?” Not to mention the, “Moooom, I can’t sleep with the lights on.” So, when we told DB that our kids were not taking turns, we would work it out in the room with 2 double beds (all three kids fit fine in one bed) they got a little mad and let my other DN ‘sleep’ in the room with her sister. Only she didn’t sleep. She screamed. For an hour or more. Anyhoo, we decided when we came back to the World, we would get 2 rooms, no matter what they cost, so we could have our own space.

So, back to the plan. We are surprising the kids when we wake them up at 3:30 in the morning to take them to the airport. The plan is to have everything packed and ready to go the night before. (We’ll see how this goes, luckily I am obsessive, so hopefully the packing will be done in time.) We will be in Orlando by 9:30am. Once we check in, whether the room is ready or not, it is off to MK. I know this week (President’s week) is supposed to be busy, and since it will be the beginning of ESPN the Weekend it will be heavy crowds, but am hoping that most will be leaving by the end of the week. (Crowds or no, I am a Commando and we WILL succeed!!!!) Seriously though, I plan to make sure everyone get to do their favorite at MK if nothing else. Also, we plan to watch Wishes and Spectromagic that night.

Sat. we plan to hit AK for EMH am. We missed a lot of AK, since we were with DB and SIL on the last trip. Actually, we missed it because we were avoiding them, but that is another story.

Sun. we are going to do MGM. It will be MGM EMH pm that night. I am not sure if we are going to do Fantasmic this night or wait for another night. I want to take advantage of the extra hours. DD5 LOVES TOT. We must do this ride at least 5 times!!!!

Mon. MK again with early PS at Crystal Palace.

Tues. Open day.

Wed. I have scheduled the kids for the Pirate Cruise at the GF. Since this is the day we head back home, I thought this would give them some of the best memories! I am hoping to hop over to the MK for one last visit before we get picked up at WL around 3:30pm.

Obviously, anything can and will change. (And I know that we didn’t put Epcot in our schedule. The kids were not fans, except for the Land and Figment…(they are young and never experienced the original Figment, what can I say.) The Land (one place they enjoyed) will be closed when we are there. We DO plan to Hop over to Epcot, depending on crowds and stuff, and I am sure we will catch Illuminations.

For a Commando I know I am flexible with the schedule. (Hey, I have 3 young kids, flexibility is my middle name. Okay, actually it isn’t my middle name, but that is just an expression.J )

I will happily be posting out trip reports when we get back. I hope everyone enjoys reading. I am not sure how eventful our trip will be, since we are NOT going with DB and SIL, but I am sure we will create chaos wherever we go. (Remember what I said about DS4, Stitch like in every way, minus all those extra arms!)

Thanks for reading!!

Made my PS's today. Only 21 days out and I got everything I wanted!! We are having dinner at Crystal Palace our first night. The reasonig for this is twofold. It will give the kids their "character fix" (plus who can pass up a parade with Pooh?), and DH LOVED our meal here last August.

On our third day, we are planning on sleeping in and having a late (for us) breakfast at the Whispering Canyon. (I hope one of the kids drops a fork...or something). Last time we were there, we had a "new to the restaurant, waitress." One of the mom's at another table wanted ketchup, it was all on one table near the front of the restaurant. She sent her son up to get it. The waitstaff noticed and brought her iron bars to hold and she was told to walk around with the bars saying, "I will not teach my son to steal!" It was GREAT. Embarrassing the kids is good for them! Can't wait for this meal!

The next day we are heading to the Crystal Palace again for breaky. DH LOVED the cheesy potatoes last time, hoping they still have them.

Then, we will have an early PS at Donald's Breakfastasaurus before the park opens. That night, we have our Fantasmic dinner package scheduled at Hollywood and VIne.

Then, the next day is the Pirate Cruise at GF for the kiddies!!

Can't wait to get back to the World!!!!

Ugh - all I can say is.....CAN I COME TOO? I am so jealous. I'm in a "not-in-Disney" bad mood today.

But, anyway.....have a great time. Sounds like you will! The only thing I thought of is, you will miss out on the new Nemo stuff at the Living Seas in Epcot. I'm looking forward to that in Dec...you're kids are at the right age for it.....just a thought if you are going to hop over there.

BTW.... I think you did a great job with your pre-trip report...I'm looking forward to your after-trip report!

Wilderness Lodge was a great hotel choice. I really enjoyed reading about all your plans. Can't wait for the trip report. Thanks.

Sharon

We will be there the same time as you...we can't wait...we are staying at POR I wanted WL but 7 year old loves POR....so we will stay there I love it there too....have fun....can't wait either

With only five more days (plus a bunch of hours) I find myself in the not so excited stage. This always happens right before one of our trips. So much planning...and it seems to take so long to get here!! (And I know that MOST of our plans will change as they inevitabily do...)

It seems worse this time. We chose to surprise the kids, which I know will be neat, if we ever get to surprise them....plus we have opted for an EARLY flight, which means getting up before the sun....so their excitement may be less than what I am hpoing for...I don't think I will surprise them with a trip again...it is too hard not to talk about Disney....especially with all the changes to the castle etc. (Harder to prepare them for what they will see without telling them we are going.) I am also having trouble packing for this trip...the weather seems to be questionable...70s during the days, but anywhere from 50s to 30s at night....add to that the fact that all the kids seem to have GROWN (how dare they) out of their summer clothes...oh well...we can always buy stuff there!

DH has a ton to do at work and in school before we can go, which adds to the general madness around the house. (Everyone knows most DH's are like an extra child...so it seems the more he has to do, the more I have to do....)

DS is FINALLY 40" which means he gets to experience Splash Mountain for the first time!! I can't wait!!! It is funny though, DD5, was tall enough on our lasttrip and she loved it....but every time we got to the big drop I felt like she was gonna FLY right outta her seat....she was tall enough, but was she heavy enough???? Each time we made the big drop I found myself sticking my leg over hers to keep her down.... (maybe I am jsut insane!!)

I have tried to tell DH that since we are going at a time of year we have never been before, to expect larger crowds than at the beginning of September (our last trip)...he says it won't matter....but with three little kiddos in tow, too many long lines and we'll all be crazy!!!!

For our first two days, the hours have been extended at MK and even at AK...I guess they are expecting pretty big crowds....hopefully afterthat things will slow down a little.

I will be keeping track of our trip, and posting the reports as soon as I can when I get back... can't wait to see the mouse!!!

So, are you having 2 breakfasts this day or did I misunderstand? Just curious. Also, what do you mean there is a parade @ Crystal Palace for dinner? Is this every night at a certain time, or every few minutes or what? First timer trying to figure out "our plan".

TIA - moopdog

Sorry for the confusion! (and welcome to my world!!)
We have a PS at CP on one day for breakfast... (before park opening on non EMH am day)
On another day we have a ps for DOnald's Bfast.(again before park opening on non EMH am day)

The "parade" is something they do at CP, at least they did when we were there last iin August. All the characters (Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger) started marcing around the restaurant and kids were able to join in (parents too) and there was music playing. It did not happen during our breakfast....but we were the first ones in that day, and finished our breakfast rather quickly....we left before the restaurant was full...so I think they might have done it once it was full..

Hope that helps!
