My First Disney TR!!

Hi, hope you tag along and enjoy!! just bear with me as this is my first time doing anything like this LOL so if i get boring just let me know

First of all i will introduce you to the crew, Im Diane(26) wife to Brad(30) and mummy to Roland(5) and Lillianna(we call her Lilly) she is 2.5 yrs.

Here are the kidlets;

we are going to Disneyland from the 25 to 28th of March, only staying 2 nights at the HoJo, im hoping that is enough time, although i spose not a huge deal considering we live in southern Cal now!!
yep we are from Australia well i am, the hubby is American we have been married nearly 7 yrs!!! We have been living in Aus the last 5 yrs though.
Just recently moved back here, as my mum passed away 7 mths ago, and the rest of my fam turned crazy, my mum never got to go to Disneyland
it was a dream of mine to take her, but i didnt get a chance, maybe she will be with us in spirit this time around? well i can hope!! she loved everything Indian (native american) and would have loved to meet pocahontus (sp) at DL.

This will be my third trip to DL, not sure how many times my hubby has been but its alot considering he is from here. My son has been once when he was just over 1 yr old, but obviously cant remember a thing about it.
this is my Daughters very first time, even though she is 2.5 yrs she is very excited to go!! she loves Princess's, Minnie, Mickey and Donald, so hopefully she will get to meet some of those on our trip.
My son is a star wars nut like his daddy, so he is very excited about jedi training and star tours, his daddy will take him on space mountain too(hopefully he is tall enough he is 43 inch)

This was my first time at DL pre kids in 2003

i was a little suprised because i didnt realize that the characters come to you while you ate! DH didnt tell me this LOL

Then this is when we went with our son in 2006 for the 50th Aniversary.

this was the only decent pic i took of the day, most of the day we were watching his reactions lol.

and this is a pic later on in the yr of 06 with his mickey ears he loves them!!

Anyway so My hubby thinks im nuts because all i talk about is Disneyland, he pretends he is not excited, but i know he is deep down

i booked the hotel last night and in around 2 weeks we will probly buy our tickets from Vons.

oo I will be glad to read your report I tried to do 2 and yea i just didnt finish cause I didnt think anyone was interested but I will be glad to go on the ride I am going march 4-9 hehe

Wow not long to go for you
how exciting!! i will try my hardest to keep this going, i need to get my butt into gear and find the memory card for our camera before we go, that way we can take plenty of pics!!!

Im still trying to sweet talk DH to get an extra day at DL, but he needs to sweet talk his boss first, to get an extra day off!!

We are going to do one night at Goofy's Kitchen, another night at Rainforest cafe, the kids love RC and i know they will be blown Away with GK, im hoping they meet a good portion of the characters there that way it will save time finding them in the parks!!

Its funny i was talking to the hubby last night about one of the rides at DL and he is like ' are you still talking about Disneyland?' LOL
i know he is excited deep down, but he is being all manly about it!!


Anyway i got t go now, taking the kids to knotts today, not as exciting as DL but we have season passes so need to get our money's worth!!!

haha I know what you mean I know it is 2 weeks for mine and I am super ecited cause I am gonna show my friend everything I can possable because she never been I know I so wanted to stay all day monday but she has cant stay all day but oh well good enough for me though lol well good luck with ur hubby to get another day off that would be exciting

Hi there,
semi update, i found the Memory card for my camera, it somehow ended up inside the casing of one of my hubby's computers Hmmm, he gave that computer to his brother,and when he was carrying it to the car he noticed it in there, so that was Lucky!!
oh and we have changed the date up a week as we have to do some other family buisness that HIS family has scheduled in for us
oh well good thing for us because we get to go a week early so now we are leaving on the 18th and coming back on the 20th, i so want to stay longer but my husband is such a homebody that he wont stay longer than that! its ok im glad we are atually staying 3 days!! better than none!

We went to the Disney store yesterday to buy some Autograph books for the kids, but they didnt have any! she said they sell them at Disneyland though so we will just get them the morning we get there! we did get the kids a couple of cute shirts, they had them on sale for $6 each, bargain

i cant get over how cheap everything is here in the US! im so used to being ripped off in Australia! ts so nice to go out for dinner and only spend $50 and get alot of food, whereas back home we would spend $100 very easily.

Anyway the kids and i are really looking forward to our trip we are counting down every day! My son and i go to Youtube daily to watch video of the rides and things, he is so excited to go on HM. he loves things like that.
My 2 yr old is so excited to see the Princesses that will be the highlight of her trip

Anyway ill be off now hope you are all doing well!!

Our trips are the same dates, except we leave the day after you. I so can't wait. We'll all be more than willing to listen to you "ramble" on and on about DLR. We all share your lovely addiction. hehe

wow only a week to go!!
the time has gone so quick, but i betcha this last week will drag LOL, i will have to keep us all busy this week so it goes quicker!!
We ended up taking the kids to Rainforest Cafe yesterday for lunch, so we will cross that off our list to have at DL, My 2 yr old wasnt impressed with the thunderstorm LOL so we are thinking the first night ordering some pizza and get it delivered to the hotel, that way the kids and us can relax for a bit, then head back into the park for the fireworks!!
im hoping my daughter likes the rides at DL if they are going to be loud etc, maybe at RC yesterday the noise plus the animals chanting scared her, i spose the big apes are kinda scarey if you look at it at a kids point of view.
oh well we will see how see goes!!

When do you think i should start packing???
Thinking of just taking one big suitcase, that should fit all of our clotes etc, and a backpack for in the park.
does anyone know if they check your bags??
as i will probly want to put some snacks in the back pack for the kids, saves some money!! i know at Knotts they dont allow you to take anythng like that in, only water.

Still deciding what to do with our dog while we are away, we want to put him into a kennel or doggy day care, but alot of them say he has to be over 7 mths old, he is only 4mths. some want him to have a rabbies shot too which we havent done yet, not sure if he is too young for that? but we will look into this week, if we cant get him into one of those places, we might have to ask a family member to come and check on him and give him water/food etc.

oh they had some cute Disney shirts at kohls last night on sale for $7 i didnt get any for my daughter as she alread has a few, but i did get my son 2 Star wars shirts which were also $7 each, so that was a bargain.
i still think its funny when we go shopping and people make me talk to them because they wanna hear the accent LOL
im usually really shy and dont say much in person, but i make the effort so people can hear me talk

anyway i better go the kids are up to something!!, update again in a couple of days!!!!

We leave bright and early tommorow, I have finished packing. Just have to do the last bit of cleaning then off to bed, we are so excited my son couldnt get to sleap until 9:30!! I'll be back Sunday to let you know how it went
