I'm pretty sure this board has created a monster, hehe. After seeing the tie dye t-shirts and trying it I decided I wanted to try to make some autograph books and a countdown calendar. I was going to request some designs from the great designers here but was hoping I could make some myself. I started playing around the other night with my new photoshop elements and here is what I have come up with so far. These are all just covers for DH & I, my mom, my aunt's family who are all going on our September trip then 3 for a friend's kids who are going the week before us. Now I want to make more...I'm hooked! Thanks for all the great ideas and tips!

Oh the things I could be doing around my house if I hadn't discovered this website a month or so ago

Let me know what you think and if there are ways to improve them since I'm still new at this! Sorry they are so big!

I think they ALL look great!!!!! Way to go!

But of course I have questions - what did you use to put your Mickey heads on for the countdown calander? Did you just print the numbers on regular white paper and then glue the mickey heads to the paper? I want to do one like that for my girls and already have my Mickey heads ready!

And for the autograph books - the covers look great! Now what do you use to print them on or put them on? I'd love to make one for my girls but have o clue what "materials" to use so they hold up well! THANKS!

Thank you! For the countdown calendar I probably should have included a couple more pictures so you could see how each one was made. I made a Word document with 3 columns and the white paper is tri-folded. I printed a "fact" about Disney and the number on the paper then printed it out, folded it in 3 and added a picture on the inside. I'll add a couple more pictures. If you want to PM me your email address I can send you the word Document I used. I just inserted my facts as I went. Clear as mud? lol.

As for the autograph books, my plan is to print them onto high quality cardstock. The size for my books is 8 1/2 X 5.5 so that I can just cut one sheet of cardstock in half and have room to bind it on the left. I might do 4X6 but I haven't printed any out yet to try. I plan on adhering the cover to chipboard for a sturdy front & back.

Here are a couple more pictures of the calendar. The first shows when you open up the Mickey head to see the "fact" about Disney. The second one shows it all the way open to see the picture inside.

OMG how COOL is that??!!! I love it!!!:banana:
I would LOVE if you could PM it to me!!!! (THANKS!) I'm in AWE of everyone's creativity. I wish I had a bit of that!

One more question - you said it was tri-fold paper....did you fold it or you mean it already came like that? (What do I look for when I buy the paper??) And, did you use a round sticker at the bottom or did you just cut out a place to "tuck" it in?? WAY cool! I love it! THANKS!

It was just plain white cardstock (you can buy a large pack at Walmart for $3 or $4 dollars...it is with the copy paper usually) that I printed on and then cut them into strips (3 fit on one page) and then I scored and folded them. I have a paper punch that makes a round tab so that's what I used to make the slot to tuck them in. I will need your email though to send you the file so just PM me that and I will send it.

Here are my first attempts at the names with characters inside. Wow I need to shrink these...not sure why they are so big. Sorry!

Would you mind PMing me the word document as well? I would love to have one of those on my wall for our Sept trip! That is an awesome countdown calendar.
