OK, friends, and "sisters," DH and I are going away this weekend. This usually means a few nice meals and a few drinks, here and there. I've been good for 2 days, and don't want to "go bad." Any suggestions?

Thank you!

I'm not sure what program you are on. If you are low carb, a good steak with steamed veggies is safe. Ceasar salad without the croutons is also pretty safe. So many places now cater to lc that it's no problem to eat out.

In addition to what Beth just said, I would suggest you arm yourself with your greatest asset, one that people sometimes take for granted. IT's your ATTITUDE. If you determine in your mind and heart ahead of time that you are going to eat on plan then that is what you will find a way to do. I always say that food is made to be enjoyed - it's one of life's pleasures, but a special occasion, vacation or "nice" night out on the town don't have to be excuses to go off plan if you make your mind up before hand.

Have a wonderful time! I'm sure you are up to the challenge! :)

Way to go, MdmMim!! I like the way you are thinking!!

Why not find out which restaurants are in the area where you will be this weekend? That way you can plan what you will eat at the ones you will be most likely to visit. If you go in with a plan, it will be easier to stay on course.

Some other ideas:

Share a meal with your DH. Most restaurants serve huge portions. There is usually plenty for two.

Avoid the bread basket!! Keep it on the other end of the table out of your reach, or better yet, ask the waiter to remove it.

Talk along some "plan friendly" snacks. Also, you may want to consider eating breakfast in your room. I like to bring along some low point foods (I'm a Weight Watcher) that I can eat for breakfast. Then I can indulge a little more at dinner.

Whatever you do, have a great weekend!! Let us know how things go!! :sunny:
