Just back from a week at the Campgrounds and my experience was one in which I don't think I want to duplicate ever again. Let me explain: We arrived last Monday and checked in. Everyone was so nice and friendly:welcome:. On Wednesday it was my daughter's 27th birthday:bday: and we have been coming down and staying for a week for 15 years now. We rented a golf cart from Kenny Tee Time:moped: (can't say enough good about this guy--he was tremendous) and picked it up. Then came the premonition that things would not go our way. Got another call from Kenny saying that my credit card was not accepted. Now I know that I had money for the golf cart because it was a prepaid debit card and made sure that I had enough to cover the remainder of what I owed Disney and for the golf cart. I couldn't look up my account on line because I didn't have a computer with me, but being that we only live about 20 minutes away I left my daughter at the cabin and high-tailed it back home to look on-line the spending account:surfweb:. The card account showed a Disney debit of more than $125 more than what I owed.:furious: I travelled as fast as possible back to Disney and went to the Front Desk and told them that I thought Disney charged me too much and even had a printout to show them. Well, the Front Desk clerk could not find the discrepency in their system and gave me a number to call that had experience in this kind of thing. Well, to make a long story short--it wasn't Disney's fault at all but my company that I had the prepaid debit card with. They automatically took 20%and held it which made Kenny's charge not come through. Kenny was very very understanding in this and told me to just go and have fun and we will handle this at some other time because he knew I was very upset:( So off we go to enjoy the time remaining in the day at the parks:drive:. The next night we decided to watch the light parade and fireworks from the beach. I did spray myself from head to toe with insect repellent before we went. Now I am an asthmatic and later that night I started getting really short of breath to the extent that we had to call 9-1-1 and paramedics were summonded and I ended up 2 days in the hospital with a high allergic reaction to a lot (and I do mean a lot, doctors counted close to 200 bites all over my body:faint:). Now I've missed my daughter's birthday:cake::sad2: So, finally we did get two days in the parks together.

I really do love the cabins and the Fort and hope to try them again very soon
(minus the bug bites):rolleyes1 and Kenny was a life-send:hug::worship::love1::thanks: What ever you do, give this guy a chance. He took one on me and he didn't even know me. Now that I am home, I am still nursing some pretty itchy bites and trying not to scratch them:scratchin

Wow! sorry to hear about all your troubles. I'm glad that some of the trip went well. It's good to hear the positive comments about Kenny. And I hope that your next trip is MUCH better.

wow, not a fun visit at all. Hopefully your next visit will be so fantastic that you'll forget about this one:)

I'm sorry it was such a brutal trip -- glad you're okay, though. I've never needed a cart, but I've heard enough things like this about Kenny here on the boards that there's no doubt who I'd call if I needed one.

Hope you get another chance to try another trip!

We went to Disney over the July 4th, one year and we did not have any issues with the bugs but that was a concern of mine prior to making our reservation. Now we make our trips the 1st weekend in December, right after Thanksgiving, and we enjoy it alot. No issue with bug bites at all.
Plus you get to see some campers decorating for the holidays,

So sorry about your mishaps. I'm glad Kenny did the right thing for you. I certainly hope you let the front desk know about the bug bites and where you got them. Somebody over there needs to pay better attention to the insect/spraying situation. Hope you're all better soon and Happy Birthday to your daughter.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind responses. I'm doing much better (still itchy) but with a lot of medication and ointment they will heal. What I am especially concerned about is I also am a diabetic and any sore around my feet I pay special concern about. I am keeping an eye on those. Kenny was a "god send" and very understanding. Also his rates were very good. I recommend him in a heart beat.

All hotels put a 15%-20% hold when you check in. They need to do a better job though, of letting you know this.

Also the release of the hold can take a day or two to get the cash "back". It is the standard of the industry, but like I said, they need to be more up front so people know this.
