Just back from a week at the Campgrounds and my experience was one in which I don't think I want to duplicate ever again. Let me explain: We arrived last Monday and checked in. Everyone was so nice and friendly
. On Wednesday it was my daughter's 27th birthday
and we have been coming down and staying for a week for 15 years now. We rented a golf cart from Kenny Tee Time
(can't say enough good about this guy--he was tremendous)
and picked it up. Then came the premonition that things would not go our way.
Got another call from Kenny saying that my credit card was not accepted. Now I know that I had money for the golf cart because it was a prepaid debit card and made sure that I had enough to cover the remainder of what I owed Disney and for the golf cart. I couldn't look up my account on line because I didn't have a computer with me, but being that we only live about 20 minutes away I left my daughter at the cabin and high-tailed it back home to look on-line the spending account
. The card account showed a Disney debit of more than $125 more than what I owed.
I travelled as fast as possible back to Disney and went to the Front Desk and told them that I thought Disney charged me too much and even had a printout to show them. Well, the Front Desk clerk could not find the discrepency in their system and gave me a number to call that had experience in this kind of thing. Well, to make a long story short--it wasn't Disney's fault at all but my company that I had the prepaid debit card with. They automatically took 20%and held it which made Kenny's charge not come through. Kenny was very very understanding in this and told me to just go and have fun and we will handle this at some other time because he knew I was very upset
So off we go to enjoy the time remaining in the day at the parks
. The next night we decided to watch the light parade and fireworks from the beach. I did spray myself from head to toe with insect repellent before we went. Now I am an asthmatic and later that night I started getting really short of breath to the extent that we had to call 9-1-1 and paramedics were summonded and I ended up 2 days in the hospital with a high allergic reaction to a lot (and I do mean a lot, doctors counted close to 200 bites all over my body
). Now I've missed my daughter's birthday
So, finally we did get two days in the parks together.
I really do love the cabins and the Fort and hope to try them again very soon
(minus the bug bites)
and Kenny was a life-send

What ever you do, give this guy a chance. He took one on me and he didn't even know me. Now that I am home, I am still nursing some pretty itchy bites and trying not to scratch them
