My first attempts at Selective Coloring... and now others' pics too!

Oh, I like the last one, Stenogoddess. Never met a sepia tone I didn't like.

Y'all inspired me to do some playing. :) This is of the fountain at the Poly

Nice job everyone.
I did something a little different this time, here's an old picture of my grandmother, she taught school in a one room school house in IL. That's her and her class. Not sure of the town name but know it was Kane County, this picture was taken in 1903.

LOL, thanks. You know I thought of the same thing after I did this, never did like the color version of old movies but this was just for fun to see how it would look.

Here's one from a few years back, I shot this with my infrared filter and converted the colors in photoshop, I thought the lilly pads would look cool in their original color!

That does look neat. I love the infrared stuff in your photo gallery! Heck, I love all the stuff there! :rotfl:

Ok mine seems like nothing now, I am so impressed with everyone's work here!

Here's mine. Nothing crazy, just something simple. It still makes me smile.

Wow! There's some great stuff going on in here - I'm tempted to do some selective colouring of my own :)

Keep 'em coming - I can't wait to see more.

And hi Jen

Do you pay for Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro or did it come on your camera disk?

Holy cow, my Grandma was a teacher in Kane County, IL. My parents were born in 1918 and may have attended that school. I'll see if I can find some pictures from their school days to see if they match your school building. There is also a historical society downtown with many old Kane County pictures, perhaps you could send a copy and they would know which one it is, if you're interested.
Sorry for the OT comments. Love all your pictures and I am very jealous of your talents.

Not even sure if the picture will show up..I am new at selective coloring and posting pictures here.

I just realized you have to resize the picture. Sorry. How do I do this?

BTW I love all the pictures of selective coloring. I love this feature.

My colors don't seem as bright as the originals. What am I doing wrong? I used a picture of DD standing and waiting for the school bus. I colored her and the grass. The grass and her dress don't seem as bright as the original so I'm not sure what I did wrong.

Any suggestions?

Are you just removing the color in the background or trying to recolor just parts of the picture?
I just removed the background color and the kids stayed the same as in the original picture..
Show us the picture. ;)
