My first attempt at scrapbooking....

Hello all...My name is Samantha. I have been on the Dis for a long time but I just started scrapbooking a few weeks ago.
A friend invited me to attend a crop and said I just had to show up with photos I would like to try it out with.

Well, I hate borrowing from anyone so I went shopping and bought some paper, some glue dots and some different stickers and adhesives.

Well, I was hooked after about 1 hour.

I want to share my first 3 layouts. I chose to do them of pics of my cats and keep the look similar in each one. (I have since bought a ton of paper and too many punches to count.)

Here is the first pages I did....

My cat Jax...

Then our cat Chewie....

and then the 17 year old Bebe (Little old man or Fat Cat)

I have not scrappped my little Girl Moozer cause I want to print some better pics and I want to have just the right girly colours for her....


From now till October I will not be able to scrap at all cause we own a summer business which opens June 1st and I work 7 days a week, minimum 12 hr days but as soon as we close on October 15th, I will get back to this. I really enjoy it so far and I hope to be as good as some of you in 20 yrs or so when I get a little better at this....LOL

Awesome job!!!! I love all 3 pages. I can't believe those were your first pages. They look sooooooo much better than the first pages I did. I can't wait to see more of your work when you can get back to it in October.

THOSE are amazing first pages! I didn't get that good until I'd been doing it for YEARS. Plus, those close up nose photos are terrific!

Wow, I am so overwhelmed by your responses. I didn't know if what I was creating was nice or not. I just know that I seem to like to mat my photos a lot.

I am going to do more of my cats when they were small, pictures of them being silly together and also my Godkitties (my friends 2 cats that we are their godparents....LOL)


When I start in the fall, I will tackle my many trips to Disney.

I am so pumped now....thanks for all the compliments.

I can't wait to play with all my new toys.

Those page are terific! Great job. I'm in the same situation as you. We have a camp and from May 1st until the weekend after Columbus Day we are there every weekend. So I don't scrap as much as I would like either.

Can't wait to see more of your pages when you get back into it!!

Been reading your notes for a long time. You alwyas seem to have good tips for travelling. I live in the next province. These are great layouts, I have done a few pages, have all the gear, but not the the artistic brain to go with them. I am hoping this summer to have a little more time(my boss is retiring and although I will still be employed full time until the end of the year, he said I didn't have to go to the office every day if I didn't want to. I can check messages from home, but I may go in to work and take some scrapping with me if it is quite slow. Even a page a week would be amazing.

For someone who has not scrapped before no one would ever known those were your first pages. You did an incrediable job. I just love the last layout of the close up photo of your kitty with just his nose and eyes. Very nice. And fantastic job.

I am working on my Moozer pages tonight....(She's my only girl cat and I want to go really girly)

I am trying something new so we will see how it works out.
