So I always said to DD, "If we ever get to DL we're going to get some Crocs!" So here I am planning a surprise trip & I bought some Crocs ..... but I was going to just pack them for her & give her jibbitz on the ride over as part of the "Disney Care Package" I'm putting together for our drive. If she recieved them now...she might catch on!

My question is - do you need to break in Crocs? If I give them new for our trip will they be more trouble than comfort if we don't work them in first like other shoes?

Crocs are comfy right from the start, but they do get better with wear! I think you should give them to her ahead of time, at least a few days... You also want to make sure they fit.

I have 3 pairs and I absolutely love them!

IMO, you don't need to break in Crocs, but it might get a little ouchy with hot spots.. My suggestion is to wear socks, maybe just for a day or two, or you could just keep wearing them, but I prefer not to. :P

Oh and has anyone told you look exactly like Julianna Margulies in your Splash picture? :upsidedow

No, neither my son or I needed to break in our Crocs. I went from buying them at DL to wearing them in DL the next day. Comfy from the start, my son did the same thing this month when we bought them there.

Mine have stretched out and are more comfortable, but then, I do have hobbit feet (as my username elsewhere states, LOL).

DH bought a pair at DCA during our trip, and one day he went on Splash, got SOAKED (he's over 300 lbs and was put at the very very front of the boat), then squished around in the new Crocs. Blisters galore. He was almost in tears, and the boy can handle pain, he used to get migraines that he wouldn't medicate and was in competition as a black belt in tae kwon do (think those two are related? lol).

He would recommend breaking them in.

I, however, would recommend only slight amounts of breaking them in, with gentle stretching of whatever might be a bit tight on her, AND I'd recommend buying a product called bodyglide (I hear it's for sale at REI) and putting it on any spot that might be rubbing against the shoes..."they" say it's really good for preventing blisters. And chafing. Wish I'd had some. :headache:

I bought the croc flip flops the day before our "Human Race" (it's a 10k walk). Everyone thought I was crazy for wearing them! They were great! No blisters and I truly felt like I was walking on pillows the whole time.

I got my Mary Jane crocs shortly before our trip to DL. They didn't need breaking in at all. They were so comfy my whole trip. I just recently bought the Croc Cleos and they are not quite as comfy. I think it's because I have wide feet.

I just got DD8 and I our Disney crocs last week from the Croc website. (saved 25% with coupon code crocsmarathon07)

I decided to "break them in" this weekend. I wore them all Saturday, Sunday and today while working from home. I was wearing socks with them and my feet were getting a little hot (it was 96 today) so I switched to tennis shoes to walk to the school and p/u DD8. About 2 hours later, my feet started to hurt. I put the crocs back on.....relief.

To make a long story short...I do not think they need any breaking in =)

I've worn Croc's for well over a year now, so I don't worry about breaking them in, but if its your first time wearing them they may take a little getting used to.

They fit different than most other shoes, so they may feel 'funny' for a few days. You may want to wear them a day or so before hand just to get used to them.

No they are really comfortable from the start. I swear by those shoes for the park. I purchased a pair and didnt wear them until I got to the park and they were just as magical as the park.

Here's a pic of the crocs I got at Nordstrom. I bought more disney jibbitz for them since then (not in the picture). :goodvibes They are really comfortable. Since I'm still wishing DL would build a "Sit Down & Soak Your Feet Land," these crocs are a great alternative. ;) I've worn various types of tennis shoes to DL and my feet were in absolute pain by the end of the day. Now I always wear my crocs to DL and they are super comfy and light. I was in Golden Horseshoe recently and people kept staring at my feet. Then they'd say: "Wow, where did you get those?? Did you buy them here???" :rotfl: They are great and I highly recommend them! :) :cheer2:

My DD has crocs and I wanted to buy her new ones from DL and myself as well.... My feet start hurting after standing and walking alot and I havent tired a pair myself and so I am hoping these will help me out alot.

Just bought mine today. I have never thought they are terrifically attractive....but my daughter swears by hers....she loves them!! I got the Mary Jane style (they are a little cuter IMO). Trip is in 2 weeks--we'll see if I can walk the parks for 5 days in them!

the only negative thing I can say about them is standing, they were not made to just stand. they are awesome to walk in all day though!
